Apple-tree Armor

Pospeh is not the most famous apple variety, especially among non-professional gardeners. However, the closest acquaintance with it shows that it is quite a worthy plant. It is only necessary to carefully study the main points in order to get the optimal result.

The apple tree Pospeh was created by Belarusian breeders Kovalenko, Marudo, Grakovich, Kozlovskaya and Evdokimenko. The cultivars 72-41 / 94, Antey, VM 41497 were taken as a basis. However, such a complex hybridization gave a successful result. They did not strive to impart decorative qualities to the plant, but they worked hard on fertility. The main developments were carried out on an experimental farm in the Minsk region.

The armor is a tree 2-3 meters high. The culture has a rounded pyramidal crown of medium density. The branches are evenly spaced in different directions.

The advantage of the variety is its excellent scab resistance. The developers managed to achieve excellent fertility. You can save the fruits for a long time. So far, it has not been possible to identify any special problems. The only weakness is the roots located near the surface of the earth. They are easily damaged during excavation work and can be bitten by frost.

Pospeh is a typical late winter apple tree. The ability to harvest ripe fruits is achieved by the beginning of October. The typical consumer period spans January, February and March. The first apples will appear at 3 or 4 years of development. Flowers will appear in late May or early June. Flowering lasts from 12 to 16 days.

The variety was developed for the Central region of Russia. Practice shows that this plant can be cultivated in many other localities. Growing is allowed:

• in the south of Russia;
• in the rest of the Russian Federation to the Urals;
• in the Urals and in the immediate Trans-Urals.

35,000 kg of apples can be grown per hectare of the orchard. Considering the small growth of the tree, this is a very impressive figure. The fruits will appear annually. Their number is absolutely stable under normal conditions.

The tasting examination gave the apples 4.2 points. The fruits of Pospeh belong to the dessert group. They are characterized by a high density of pulp and its fine-grained structure. They also note a sweet and sour taste and a pronounced aroma. This scent is persistent and quite pleasant.

Culture requires loose, airy, oxygen-rich soil. Deep digging near the trunk during planting is unacceptable. Digging should be done twice a year. But the ground can be hoe all year round. As for the soils, along with loam, black soil and sand are also well suited.

For this purpose, you can use:

• Box;
• Breburn;
• Delicious Golden;
• Quinty.

In the first vegetative season, it is inappropriate to feed the Pospeh apple tree. An exception is the situation when too little fertilizer was initially placed in the planting pit. In the spring, nitrogen fertilizers are used. In the summer, the time comes to use mineral compounds, and before the onset of winter, organic complexes must be used.

The plant is distinguished by its decent resistance to cold weather. It is stated that it can even withstand severe frosts. However, it is imperative to protect the roots of the apple tree. Protection is especially important when there is little snow. It is necessary to cover the trunk circle with humus or compost. Spruce branches are laid on top of them.

Apple-tree Pospeh will not get sick with spotting, rust and powdery mildew. Insects are harmful:

• honeydew;
• shield;
• moth;
• color beetle.

The armor perfectly resists scab infestation. This is a truly unpretentious plant. There are no special problems with growing. You can store the fruits throughout the winter. The apples will be large and outwardly beautiful in most cases.
