When do cherries ripen?

• Color does not play a primary role. The berry may be red, but not quite ripe to taste. Of course, you need to look at the color, but only in conjunction with other factors.

• The indicator of maturity is the stalk... If the cherry is easily separated from it, it means that it is ripe. If it is difficult to separate, the culture needs to mature.

• Size also indicates maturity. The ripe berry is large, literally bursting in the hands.

• Collection time. If the timing of the collection of cherries has come, and all of the above factors take place, this gives reason to conclude that the berries are ripe and can be harvested.
