Winegrowers are increasingly interested in raisins grape varieties. It is important to know that these species are not all seedless. Kishmishnye varieties are divided into 4 categories according to the size and number of seeds. The Zolotce grape is one of the representatives of the third category, which have absolutely no seeds.
Breeding history
Zolotse grapes were obtained thanks to the work of the employees of VNIIViV them. Ya.I. Potapenko. A.L. Maistrenko, A.N. Maistrenko, N.A. The variety appeared thanks to the varieties ZOS-1 (Delight x Original) and 13-3-5pk [1-15-31 (SV-12-375 x Delight) x Romulus], which were taken for breeding.
Geography of distribution
The distribution area of the Zolotse variety is quite wide. The cultivation of this grape is carried out by winegrowers not only in the southern, but also in the northern regions. The variety was especially fond of the inhabitants of France.
Description
Grape Zolotce is a raisin grape variety of a very early ripening period. It differs from other varieties in a well-developed vigorous vine, which ripens early. The length of the vine is 1.5-2.5 meters in length. On a fertile vine, several inflorescences are formed, which are capable of self-pollination. The flowers of this grape variety are bisexual. The leaves are large, dark green in color. The edges of the leaves are carved. On one bush, 67% of fruiting shoots, their fruiting coefficient is from 0.8 to 1.2.
Ripening period
Berries of a very early Zolotse variety begin to ripen within 100-105 days after the start of vegetative growth.
Bunches
Large clusters weighing from 300 to 400 g. Bunch shape - cylindrical-conical. Most often they are of medium density, but with good crop care, very dense clusters with berries are also found. After ripening, there is no need to rush to pluck them from the shoot. They keep well on the vine.
Berries
At the time of ripening, the grapes acquire a unique amber color. The berry is small in size, its dimensions are 18.4x16.4 mm. There are also large specimens, but this happens very rarely. The berry weight ranges from 2.5 to 3 g. It has a rounded shape. The crunchy and fleshy flesh is protected by a medium skin. The berry belongs to the third class of raisins and has no seeds at all. A light fruit-strawberry aroma gives the berry of this variety uniqueness.
Taste
The harmonious taste of grapes leaves a slightly nutmeg aftertaste for a long time after consumption. Being on the vine after ripening, the fruits gain even more sugar content. The sugar content is in the range of 170-250 g / dm3, acidity is from 5 to 7 g / dm3. According to the tasting score, it scores 8.4 points.
Yield
Zolotets can be classified as a high-yielding grape variety. Growers collect up to 150 centners per hectare of berries from one bush.
Growing features
The cultivation of this grape variety has a number of features. It is important to know that no more than 2-3 inflorescences should be left on one fruiting shoot. Otherwise, the ripening time will be shifted to a later time, and the taste of the fruit may also suffer. It adapts very well to the climatic conditions of the region, so the cultivation of this grape variety is not difficult. For planting, you should choose a sunny area that is not blown by winds and drafts.
Landing
Experienced growers recommend growing grapes on a trellis. For planting, a stalk with 7-8 buds is used. A small embankment is made on the site and material is planted there for planting. There should be 3-4 buds in the ground, which in the future will give the future bush a good root system. A small greenhouse is made for the planted cuttings, due to which the necessary humidity will be maintained. Before planting, the planting material must be kept in the Kornevin solution for 12 hours. Cuttings are placed at a distance of 1 meter from each other.
Pollination
The flowers of the Zolotce variety are bisexual, so they are capable of self-pollination. Insects also take an active part in this process. Fragrant inflorescences attract the attention of not only bees and wasps, but also other insects.
Pruning
Vines are pruned in spring and autumn. In the fall, sick and damaged shoots are removed. It is recommended to leave 7 to 9 buds on one vine. On average, the load on the bush should not exceed 35-40 eyes. In the spring, pruning of all spoiled shoots is again carried out.
Watering
Grapes require moderate watering. In hot dry weather, watered once a week. During the rainy season, watering is reduced to 1 time in two weeks. For one bush, 2 buckets of water are calculated.
Top dressing
A good feeding for grapes of this variety will be nettle infusion. Half a bucket of green mass is filled with a bucket of water. After 3 days, you can water the bushes with infusion. It is good to use "Plantafol" and Diammofoska as a top dressing.
Frost resistance and the need for shelter
Zolotets can withstand frosts down to –24 ° С. In the southern regions, shelter of bushes for the winter is not required. The winegrowers of the northern regions wrap the bushes with sacking.
Diseases and pests
The variety is quite resistant to diseases, but requires preventive treatment 2 times a season. For fungal diseases, they are treated with Quadris and others. It is recommended to cover the lower part of the bush from pests with agrotex. Growers estimate resistance to powdery mildew at 2 points, to mildew - 1.5 points.
If the grapes are exposed to any disease or insect, this is always reflected in its appearance.
Storage
It is recommended to store berries in a cool place. Thanks to the dense pulp, the berries retain their presentation for a long time.
