Breeding history
The variety was obtained by crossing Megru Vagaas and Magarach 124-66-26 by specialists of the illegal armed group "Ampelos" in Ukraine. The work was carried out under the guidance of the scientist P. Ya. Golodriga.
Description
The medium-sized variety has excellent vine ripening. Young shoots have a slightly open top; the internode on the dorsal side has a characteristic red tint. The number of successive antennae per 1 process does not exceed 2. The leaves of young grapes are yellow-green, their shape is five-lobed, weakly dissected.
In a developed plant, the shoots acquire a yellow-brown color. The leaf plate becomes heart-shaped, with shallow, weakly expressed flaky notches at the top. At the petiole, the blades remain open. The maximum height of the plant is gained by 3-4 years of age, at this point 75-85% of the shoots are already fruiting.
Ripening period
Livadiysky Black belongs to the early middle varieties with a ripening period of 132-140 days.
Bunches
Cylindrical, less often cylindrical-conical, winged. In terms of density, they are medium, reaching a weight of up to 250 g.
Berries
Livadiyskiy Black is characterized by a dense, rich color of berries with an intense prune. Inside there is soft pulp with seeds, outside there is a thin, strong skin. The berries are medium-sized, round, black.

With industrial cultivation, the average collection rates reach 110-150 c / ha. From a bush, the yield reaches 6.4-30 kg.
Growing features
Livadiyskiy Black is an unpretentious grape variety. He needs enough warmth and sun. In such conditions, he is gaining growth well. Mandatory use of supports, soil enrichment with mineral additives.
Landing
The variety shows its best properties when planted in black soil. Its root system is highly developed, it goes to a depth of up to 1.5 m.With a close location of groundwater, preliminary drainage of the planting pit will be required. Prepared shoots are placed in holes filled with a mixture of ash, nitroammophoska and humus. The heel of the seedling is buried 30 cm from the soil level, covered with earth, tamped and watered abundantly.
Pollination
Livadia Black has bisexual flowers. Therefore, pollination measures are not required.
Pruning
The vine is shortened to 2-3 eyes. No more than 30 are left on the bush. Work is carried out in early spring, before the active budding begins, as well as in the fall, leaving 5-6 eyes. In summer, shortening is necessary only to remove dried shoots and leaves. At the end of July, manual pinching is performed, removing all infertile shoots.
Bush pruning starts from 2 years of growing. With its help, 6-8 sleeves are formed, placing them on the trellis. The location should be multidirectional. There are 5-6 vines for each arm.
Frost resistance and the need for shelter
The grapes can withstand frosts down to -25 degrees. Shelter even in the middle lane is required.
Diseases and pests

After collection, storage is possible for several weeks. In a refrigerator with a controlled atmosphere, berries can be kept for up to six months.
Review overview
According to amateur winegrowers, Livadiyskiy Black is perfect for both industrial and private winemaking. Raw materials obtained from grapes of this variety show themselves well when aged in barrels. Many have been growing bushes for more than 10 years without intending to change it. But there are also reviews indicating unstable indicators of winter hardiness, as well as the fact that in wet weather the berries are gaining a small amount of anthocyanins. Most often grapes of this variety are planted for further production of dry wines.
