The Krassen grape is a hybrid variety loved by many gardeners who are passionate about growing beautiful and tasty varieties. This variety is definitely unique as it combines presentable appearance and juiciness with no seeds at all.
Breeding history
The hybrid was bred in NIViV "Magarach" in Yalta as a result of crossing the frost-resistant variety Antey Magarachsky and Superearly seedless Magarach. Included in the register in 2008.
Geography of distribution
This variety has a wide scale of growth. The most suitable conditions are provided by the climate of the Crimea and Krasnodar Territory. It also grows well in Kiev and Cherkassk regions in Ukraine and on the territory of Rostov and Voronezh regions in Russia. Due to its high frost resistance, it is successfully grown in Tyumen, Omsk and Novosibirsk.
Description
Rubble belongs to vigorous mixed varieties with almost 100% bud fruitfulness.
Ripening period
In a hybrid produced from donors of early varieties, the ripening period is 130-140 days. This is the average time.
Bunches
Conical, medium density. Each one gains about 300-500 g. One branch of Krasnya can withstand 3 medium-sized clusters and 2 large ones, up to 900 grams.
Berries
Round-shaped black berries reach a mass of 3-4 g. These are rather small fruits. The skin is firm but thin.
Taste
Harmonious, with subtle notes of nightshade, which gradually disappear as the berries ripen. The taste has a nutmeg hue. Sugar content 300 g / dm3.
Tasters rate the taste at 8 points. The pulp is fleshy and juicy. The juice is a rich dark color with a slight astringency in the aftertaste.
Yield
High-yielding variety. This figure reaches 180 c / ha.
Growing features
The Krassen variety is characterized by a strong growth of bushes. Ready-made seedlings are available for purchase at the nursery.
The grapes are highly adaptable. With proper care, the bush takes root without problems. Fruiting begins 1-2 years from planting.
Landing
Grapes need a sunny spot to grow well. In this regard, it is always planted in the spring, and the pit for the seedling is prepared already in the fall. At its bottom, it is necessary to place drainage, a layer of fertile soil and fertilizer.
Pollination
Krasen has bisexual flowers. Cross-pollinated, sometimes self-pollinated. Most often, pollen is carried by insects or wind.
Pruning
Three pruning must be done between March and November. In the spring (when the air temperature is 5–7 ° C), parts of the branches that are damaged are removed.
In the summer, pinching and pruning of unnecessary branches are carried out.
After harvesting the autumn harvest, bad shoots are removed.
Watering
Breeders are advised to carry out the first watering after wintering. The culture needs the next watering before flowering. Water the vine again during the period of fruit formation.
After three years of growing on the site, the grapes will need only one watering: before hiding for the winter.
Top dressing
During planting, fertilizers are laid in the pit, which will have to feed the vine for 3 years for its full development. A growing crop requires a lot of nutrients.
Organic feeding is preferred for this hybrid.
It would be nice to connect mineral fertilizers in the form of urea, potassium-phosphorus additives.
Make-up stops in July. Otherwise, the ripening of the fruit will slow down. Overloading with fertilizers can prevent the formation of bunches altogether.
Frost resistance and the need for shelter
Krasenya bushes are able to withstand frost down to -25 ° C. Even frozen buds manage to fully ripen and give a high yield.
When growing grapes in cold regions, you will need to organize a shelter. The southern grapes also need this measure, but only during severe frosts, in order to protect the vine from freezing.
Diseases and pests
Krason has a high resistance to fungal diseases. In terms of points, the chance of contracting mildew is 2 points. The same number of points is the susceptibility to powdery mildew, gray rot, root and leaf phylloxera.
Despite the high sugar content of the berries, they do not attract the attention of wasps.
If a grape is exposed to any disease or insect, this always affects its appearance.
Storage
Grapes are stored for a long time and tolerates transportation well.
