Growers are constantly on the lookout for the best grapes. The Alice variety was bred recently, has not yet received wide distribution, but it is already popular, since it has great potential.
Breeding history
The described hybrid was bred by an amateur breeder Vasily Ulyanovich Kapelyushny. Talisman and Criulyansky became the parents for its creation.
Geography of distribution
Alice grapes are not yet very common in Russia, so there is no detailed information about it. They are actively planted in the south of the country, since the weather conditions allow gardeners to achieve great success.
Description
Alice is a table grape. This type of bush is characterized by rapid growth. Shoots, if conditions permit, ripen well.
Ripening period
It takes 95-100 days for the grapes to fully ripen. The species under consideration belongs to the very early ones.
Bunches
The bunches form a conical shape. Their density is average. The weight of each with a sufficient amount of heat and humidity is from 700 to 1200 grams.
Berries
Alice is famous for the magnificent color of berries. Each has a maroon shade. On the surface of the skin there is a thick pruin bloom.
The skin is loose, medium, and therefore easy to chew. The flesh underneath is firm, crispy.
The shape of the grapes can be described as ovoid or oval. Each weighs from 12 to 18 grams. Dimensions 35x30 mm.
When the grapes are ripe, you can safely leave it on the bush, since even in this form it does not crumble. Even with high humidity, the berries do not burst.
Taste
Alice has a pleasant varietal taste.
Yield
The considered type of grapes belongs to high-yielding varieties.
Growing features
It is resistant to damage from wasps.
To get a good harvest, you need to know and follow some rules of agricultural technology.
The bushes grow large, so props and trellises are indispensable. The latter help in airing the bush, respectively, the grapes become more resistant to fungal and other diseases.
When using trellises, the bunches receive a sufficient amount of light.
The bush must be rationed, otherwise the ripening of the vine is observed. The permissible load is 30-35 buds per bush.
Landing
The gardener should not have problems with planting. Cuttings are well accepted and root quickly.
In a permanent place, Alice bears fruit for the third year.
Out of leaving:
timely watering;
pruning;
treatment for diseases and pests.
Better if the landing site is sunny. Such grapes do not grow on swampy areas and salt marshes.
There is an empty space of 2.5 meters between the rows, 1.5 meters between the bushes.
Pollination
Alice's flowers are bisexual, that is, self-pollinated by the wind. To get a good harvest, the gardener must take care of additional pollination of the variety. If it is not there, then the size of the berries is significantly reduced.
Pruning
When pruning grapes, 6-8 eyes are preserved per vine.
Watering
Water the variety every two weeks. One bush accounts for 4 liters of water.
Top dressing
For seedlings, it is necessary to prepare top dressing in the spring. First mix:
priming;
river sand;
humus.
All components are added in equal proportions. After that, superphosphate and nitrophosphate are added, 50 grams each.
Frost resistance and the need for shelter
Alice is a frost-hardy grape that can withstand -25 ° C, but so that it does not freeze out, it is necessary to cover it for the winter.
Diseases and pests
Alice's resistance to powdery mildew, mildew, gray rot is estimated at 2.5 points. It is important to treat the variety from pests and diseases in the spring.
Spraying with lime and any growth stimulant helps well against fungal infections.
It is imperative to use "Topaz", as it increases the low resistance of the variety to powdery mildew.
To protect the bush from mildew, it is worth using Ridomil Gold.
If a grape is exposed to any disease or insect, this always affects its appearance.
Storage
Each bunch has an attractive presentation, retains it even during long-term transportation or storage.
