A grape variety called Aleshenkin has been cultivated in Russia for several years. Due to its expressive taste, it has become widespread and popular.
Breeding history
The table grape variety was developed in 1956. Its creator was the Russian academician Pyotr Efimovich Tsekhmistrenko (Volgograd experimental station). The grape was obtained by crossing Madeleine Angevin grape flowers with pollen from other table species. The name of the variety was the name of his beloved grandson, synonyms: Alyosha, Aleshin, Aleshenkin's gift. And also this variety was assigned the number №328.
Geography of distribution
Culture feels great in the southern latitudes. And also it is cultivated in regions with temperate climates. With proper care, you can get a good harvest in the Moscow region.
Description
The foliage color is standard, deep green. The color of the berries is matte golden. Despite the fact that the variety is considered a table variety and grows remarkably in warm weather conditions, it adapts perfectly to cool climates. Proper care leads to the laying of fruit buds, and the fruits ripen early. And also there are no problems with pollination.
Ripening period
The grapes are very early. The process from the moment the young buds are laid to the full ripening of the berries takes from 110 to 118 days. This period directly depends on the region of cultivation, weather conditions and care.
Bunches
The bunches are conical in shape. The density index is average. The average weight of a huge bunch is about 500 grams.
Berries
Ripe berries can be identified by their amber color with a thin, light bloom. Inside the seeds are medium in size (1-2 pieces). The sugar content is 200 grams per dm³. The acidity level ranges from 3 to 5 g / dm³. The skin is firm and thin. With proper cultivation, the pulp becomes fleshy, moderately dense and crispy. The shape is oval (in some sources, weakly oval). The average weight of one berry is 4.5 grams.
Taste
The fruits have a delicate and harmonious taste. And also there is a slight aftertaste of nutmeg. The tasters rated the variety at 8.8 points with a maximum of 10. This rating is considered high.
Yield
The Aleshenkin variety was marked as high-yielding. From one medium-sized bush, you can collect from 8 to 10 kilograms of fruit. The berries have high transportable qualities.
Growing features
This type of fruit crop is considered unpretentious, which is why it can be grown in regions with different climatic conditions. And also this variety is suitable for novice gardeners who have no experience in growing such crops.
Landing
Experts advise growing fruit bushes in the spring. Immediately after the soil warms up to +10 degrees Celsius. In this case, the air temperature will fluctuate from +18 to +20 degrees Celsius. Such weather conditions occur at different times of the year, depending on the region of growth. In southern latitudes, the necessary weather conditions begin at the end of April. In the north, this is the middle or end of the last spring month.
Note: the quality of the seedlings is of great importance in fruiting. Assess it carefully before boarding. The trunk should be brown and the cut should be light. The foliage should be even and smooth, without flaws. Various defects, such as growths, can indicate the presence of disease.
Pollination
The type of flower is bisexual, therefore one of the main features of this variety is self-pollination.
Pruning
The optimal load per bush is from 35 to 40 buds. To maintain such an indicator, formative pruning is performed in the spring. The overgrown buds are shortened by 3-9 eyes. This procedure will help to achieve high yields. The plant will spend energy and useful elements not on the vine, but on the fruits.
And you also need to periodically remove excess inflorescences. In order for the berries to ripen at the same time, you need to maintain the optimal number of inflorescences. One inflorescence per shoot. Many gardeners remove flowers from the bottom with scissors.
With the arrival of summer, excess foliage is cut off around the brushes. They block the sunlight that berries need during ripening. Dry branches and leaves are removed in early March. They will negatively affect the development of the bush, taking away important nutrients.
Bushes of this variety need to be renewed approximately every 5-6 years. Gardeners advise to leave only 9 eyes on the strongest and youngest shoot with the onset of spring. As soon as a new sleeve is formed, the old one must be cut off entirely, to the very stump. A fresh cut must be processed with a special garden varnish.
Watering
A young bush needs to be watered every week for a month. 20 liters of water at room or warm temperature are poured under one bush. The frequency of watering decreases in the next month - the same amount of water is used every 14 days. With the arrival of the third month (as in the following months), the grapes are watered only once a month.
The frequency and abundance of irrigation depends on weather conditions and is no different from such a procedure for other varieties.
Top dressing
Experienced gardeners recommend combining irrigation with top dressing. In order for the green mass of Aleshenkin grapes to develop actively, nitrogen must be added to the soil during spring watering: 40 grams of urea is used per 10 liters of water. The resulting composition is spent on one bush. Another option to fertilize the crop with organic means is to mix 100 grams of chicken manure with 10 liters of water.
And also the variety will be useful for feeding before the flowering of grapes. You can prepare a solution of 20 grams of superphosphate and 5 grams of potassium salt. Then 5 kilograms of compost is added under one bush. As soon as the harvest is harvested, a portion of potassium salt is added to the soil - 5 grams of this product and 40 grams of dolomite flour are used per bush.
Frost resistance and the need for shelter
The variety is highly frost-resistant - up to 26 degrees below zero. It is advisable to cover grapes in the Orenburg region and in the surrounding regions with the arrival of winter. They remove the protective cover only after the frost has completely receded.
Diseases and pests
The variety is prone to fungal infections. And also the plant is afraid of ticks and leaf rollers. To harvest a bountiful harvest, you need to process the plant twice a year - June and July. The following drugs are used: Fufanon, Topaz, Horus. And you also need to process the vine with a Bordeaux liquid solution. Do this 3 times per season.
If a grape is exposed to any disease or insect, this always affects its appearance.
Storage
Ripe fruits of Aleshenkin grapes cannot be stored for a long time. The fruits will retain their appearance and taste if they are kept in the refrigerator for a maximum of one month.
