Almost all houses have indoor flowers. They bring not only aesthetic pleasure, but also help purify the air and thus take care of our health. Let's take care of our green friends and create optimal conditions for their stay. And for this you need to choose the right container and place it in a place where there will be no drafts and heat from the batteries. So, let's talk about how to choose a wall-mounted plant pot.

Choosing a flower pot

First of all, do not forget that we are choosing the “home” for the flower, in which it should be comfortable. But the aesthetic side also plays an important role. What are the parameters to consider when buying a wall-mounted flower pot?

Dimensions (edit)

The size of a given item must correlate with the size of the plant for which it is intended. That is, large flowers - more, small - smaller. Each time you transplant a plant, purchase a container a couple of centimeters in diameter larger than the previous one. Add the same amount to the height of the item. The roots of the flower, the drainage layer of at least 2 cm and the right amount of substrate should be completely included in the new pot. Try to follow this algorithm: the optimal height of a flower pot is 1/3 or 1/4 of the height of the plant itself. Do not buy too large containers, otherwise the growth will go "to the root".

The form

In order to choose not only a beautiful, but also the most convenient pot for a plant, study the peculiarities of the root system of your "green friend". It is from them that the shape of the product will depend. For flowers with elongated roots, narrow and tall pots are perfect, for plants whose roots grow in breadth - wide and squat. If you find it difficult to determine, get a station wagon in the shape of a cylinder or parallelepiped, when the top and bottom are the same in diameter or perimeter.

Materials (edit)

Today in flower shops there is a huge selection of flower pots of any shape, size from any material. Ceramic (clay) containers are considered classic. They have won the love of flower growers for their environmental friendliness, the fact that they give the roots of plants the opportunity to "breathe" due to their porous structure. However, these pots are quite fragile and not cheap.

There is also a large assortment of plastic containers, they are lightweight, inexpensive. But this material does not allow air to pass through, so in order to avoid decay of the roots, make sure that the purchased pot has drainage holes in the bottom. Glass pots are not the most common option among flower lovers due to their fragility and lack of root air exchange.

However, for some plant species, whose root system takes part in photosynthesis, they are optimal.

The most, perhaps, unpopular type is metal pots. In many interiors, in the photographs we see flowers planted in buckets, but this is more of a flowerpot. Metal rusts with frequent contact with liquid, there is no air exchange in such a pot, it is heavy and quite expensive.

How to fit into the interior?

Now let's talk about how to make wall flower pots "chips" of the interior.

  • The style in which the container is made must match the style of the interior of the room. For example, in a classically decorated room, a glossy black cube-shaped pot will look alien.
  • The color palette is also very important. The pot can either blend in with the general background of the room or act as an accent spot.
  • If you have not one, but several plants, select containers for them that match each other in color, shape, style, and hang so that the large ones are at the bottom and the smaller ones are at the top.
  • Place the vines above the rest, allowing their branches to hang beautifully.
  • When purchasing flower pots, do not forget that they should be in harmony with their inhabitants. If the plant never blooms, you can buy a brighter "dwelling" for it; in the presence of bright colors, it is best to "settle" it in a neutral-colored dish.

Choosing solutions

We offer several options for mounting flower pots on the wall:

  • a wooden rack with shelves on which trinkets are adjacent to flowers; it is best to fix it on brackets;
  • decorative lattice with pot holders looks very original;
  • shelves suspended by a rope from a "rod" with holes for inserting pots will look good if all the plants are about the same size;
  • wall baskets look original and unusual, in which you can install small containers with flowers;
  • for a large overgrown plant, you can make a hanging box;
  • old metal pipes and buckets can also become original flower shelves.
