Almost all apartment owners are accustomed to a standard-shaped mixer when they see the tap itself and two or one valves. Even if these are extravagant models, they look about the same. The concealed faucet does not have a long spout and levers in the visible part and looks quite inconspicuous, which allows you to use the additional space at your discretion.

Peculiarities

A familiar tap brings out a mechanism that mixes water with different temperature indicators. In a hidden mixer, it is impossible to find a mechanism that allows you to manually adjust the water.

The built-in crane is so called due to the fact that its entire mechanism is built into the wall.

If we talk about the size of the invisible part of the mixer, then it is almost always equal to 11-15 cm in diameter and 9 cm in thickness. In order for such a structure to fit into the inter-wall space, a distance of at least 9 cm is required. When repairing in a bathroom with a large amount of space, no problems should arise.

There is a feeling that problems may arise if the house is an old building with a miniature bathroom. But if during the planning it was calculated that suspended plumbing would be installed in the room, then you don't have to worry - the indent in the classic version will be 10 cm from the intended wall. This is enough to build a hidden tap even in a small room.

You need to understand that one device only works for one mixer in the shower or bathroom. Also, each device must be connected to two pipes with cold and hot water with a diameter of at least 15 mm.

If the plans include installation of a shower with a complex structure containing hydromassage, then the diameter must be chosen at least 20 mm.

Peculiarities

Below are some of the features of flush-mounted mixers.

Support of the set temperature, without thermal drops. All faucets are equipped with a thermostat. One of the problems with conventional spouts is the unpredictability of temperature: the mixer cannot independently supply water at the required temperature while adjusting the tap. Built-in mixers easily solve this problem, since the user himself sets the temperature, which does not change independently, but only after he changes it to another. If in an apartment or a separate room there is not one spout, but several, then for each tap it is necessary to set its own temperature parameters.

Eliminates additional abrasions and bruises. Almost every inhabitant of the planet has been crippled at least once thanks to bathroom items. With a hidden mixer, such incidents will not occur, since the protruding part of the device is too small. And now you can completely forget about the constantly tangled shower hose, which strives to slip out of your hands.

Aesthetics and convenience in one device. As already noted, with a hidden spout, there is no chance of hitting yourself or your child on the tap or getting tangled in the shower hose.

The mixer can be installed at absolutely any height and in any place.

The control for the tap can be placed against one wall or even near the door, and the tap itself - against the other wall above the bathroom. With this model, you do not have to adapt to the pipes - the user will have complete creative freedom, because the mixer can be positioned wherever he wants.

It looks harmoniously in the space of the room. In fact, a built-in faucet will fit almost any bathroom decor. Suffice it to recall what a standard bathroom looks like: in almost all interiors, all kinds of cans with soap, gel, shampoos, conditioners and other items of daily toilet are visible. If it is possible to hide all this in the cabinets, then the pipe with the watering can definitely not be removed.

Saving space in an already small room. As mentioned above, the mixer takes up very little space in the visible part, so it can be considered a practical solution for a miniature bathroom.

In addition to this obvious plus, one can also highlight the fact that shelves for soap accessories can be attached to the place of the old mixer. However, in this case, it is necessary to remember where the pipes pass and stay away from this place with working tools.

A rational approach to planning a place in space. If the bathroom, unlike the previous point, is large, then a person has the opportunity to install two or more mixers on one device. For example, you can install two rain showers opposite each other to create a hydrolax. In this case, it is recommended to opt for larger diameter shower systems and make sure that the pump pipe connected to the mixers delivers a sufficient amount of water. Otherwise, you can face insoluble problems with the water supply.

Simplifies cleaning the room. Most users are familiar with the situation when beautiful faucets after a while become a collection of stains and plaque. Sometimes you have to spend an entire day off to clean all the fittings in the bathroom. With built-in mixers, the cleaning time will be reduced several times, which saves time and labor.

Types of mixers

Mixers are divided according to their consumer nature:

  • For shower;
  • for the bathroom;
  • for washbasins;
  • for bidet.

    Also, the taps can be divided according to the place of installation:

    • wall copies;
    • options installed on horizontal surfaces.

      Classification by the type of mechanism that controls the flow and jet of water:

      • joystick-type mechanism;
      • semi-turn mechanism;
      • a mechanism that makes a full revolution.

        By type of control:

        • standard;
        • sensory.

        Mounting

        The first step to installing the faucet in the bathroom is to drill holes with a hammer drill. In this case, a crown will be required for concrete. Each hole should be approximately 9.5 to 12 cm wide and 12-15 cm in diameter.

        The second step is to drill the walls for further laying of the water pipes.

        The final moment is the installation of the external elements themselves. Before proceeding with this stage, you need to make sure that the walls are finally repaired and the pipes are in working order. The installation of a concealed mixer actually causes some difficulties, therefore it is recommended to carefully read the instructions of the manufacturer of the sanitary equipment. One of the main difficulties is the selection and installation of the installation box.

        Manufacturers try to depict the entire assembly process as clearly as possible. Consistency also plays a huge role. But do not be afraid: if you take the instructions seriously and wisely, then the installation process will go very quickly and will not cause any trouble. The fact that the user will independently install the device has a huge advantage - he will know not only in theory, but also in practice, all the intricacies of installation, and in the event of a breakdown, he will be able to correct the situation without fuss and unnecessary actions without additional help.

        If it is decided to install the equipment with your own hands, without resorting to the help of masters, then it is worth remembering the precautions. It is also necessary to be attentive to the work, especially in the case when the process of connecting taps to pipes begins.If there is a question in the choice of water pipes, then experts advise you to choose copper or polypropylene-sewn options.

        It is important to know that the recessed parts of the fasteners need to be mounted at the time of working with pipes, and not after installing the sink or bathtub.

        Ergonomics of installation

        “Measure seven times, cut once” - this proverb very accurately describes the painstaking work with water pipes. It is worthwhile to lay out pipes with high quality and clearly, carefully select all dimensions that are easy to calculate. It is also necessary to accurately calculate the height of the mixer and other appliances.

        To calculate at what height to mount the shower tap, you need to take the height of the tallest member of the family and add 40 centimeters to it (allowance for the height of the bathroom). You should also carefully check that the length of the washbasin faucet, taking into account the slope of the water, coincides with the center of the washbasin itself.

        Among the manufacturers of quality products, the companies Kludi and Vitra can be distinguished. Their hygienic shower most often has three outputs.

        You should not save on the installation of plumbing equipment. It is necessary to bring its own pipe to each device. The scheme should be well thought out and understandable. In case of problems with the spout, it will be much easier to disconnect one pipe from the water supply than several, and replace or repair it. It will also eliminate water interruptions throughout the apartment.
