After several manipulations with the lubricant, the valve will turn again as usual. Do not forget that over time, the grease can be washed off with water. Therefore, you need to ensure that the space between the plates is constantly filled.

There are several types of grease for ceramic cartridges. These include silicone grease, teflon grease and cyatim-221. Each of them has its own advantages and can be used not only for mixers. The best and therefore the most expensive is silicone grease. However, in no case should it be confused with a silicone sealant.

Ceramic cartridges differ in:

• diameter;
• landing part;
• height.

Sometimes models are also distinguished by the length of the stem, but this is done very rarely.

First of all, it is worth paying attention to the difference in diameter. When choosing a faucet in a store, you can see that almost the same models have different prices. This largely depends on what size the cartridge is inside. Models with a diameter of 40 mm are more durable and have high performance. If we talk about parts measuring 20 or 25 mm, you need to be prepared for the fact that this model will last a little less. • the presence of various impurities in the liquid that enters the tap (impurities appear due to metal oxidation and significantly impair the operation of the cartridge);
• violation of the operating instructions for the part;
• salt deposits.

To prevent damage to the mixer, it is better to take care of the stable operation of the cartridge even at the stage of its installation. Earlier in the article, we mentioned a filter that helps extend the life of parts. It is he who makes it possible to get rid of foreign impurities that get into the plates and disrupt the work of the latter. Some manufacturers even require a filter to be installed. Otherwise, they simply refuse warranty service.

To insert a new part into the mixer, removing the faulty one, several simple manipulations should be carried out:

• turn off the hot and cold water supply;
• using a hexagon or a screwdriver, remove the screw that is located under the plug and holds the mixer handle;
• remove the handle, and then the ring;
• using an adjustable wrench, unscrew the clamping nut and the defective cartridge;
• change the part to a serviceable one and do everything listed in the reverse order.
