The sink is a very important element in the bathroom. Some modern consumers prefer an unconventional option - a sink without a tap hole. Such elements of plumbing are considered designer - they differ not only in functionality, but also in aesthetics.

Peculiarities

The shape of the sink without a hole for the mixer is often quite simple, and it might seem that the manufacturers of such models are trying to do without everything superfluous. But not everything is so simple: the designs of such products are complicated. Sometimes there are simply no holes - manufacturers can even mask well the drain. It is recommended to opt for large models so that the spray from the sink will not fall on other surfaces in the bathroom.

Tulip shells are very popular. Many people prefer a washbasin with a cabinet - this option is very convenient for bathrooms. Some consumers choose rather narrow products in order to save space in the room as much as possible.

Various versions are possible: surface-mounted, wall-hung and recessed sinks. Modern manufacturers offer a wide range of such products - you can choose just such a model that will be ideal for a particular interior.

Overflow system. So that after reaching a certain level, the liquid does not overflow from the sink, constructors and designers are constantly looking for new solutions. You can choose from several options described below.

Installing a non-lockable drain valve. Using the built-in siphon. This element is connected to the drain pipe. In those cases when the drain hole is closed, the liquid flowing into the sink begins to rise in the siphon. When a certain level is reached, the liquid will overflow through the partition and begin to flow into the sewer.

Using a drain hole that opens automatically when the liquid reaches a certain level. Products that do not have a tap hole have both pros and cons. A rather significant drawback of such sinks is significant inconvenience in the implementation of installation work. To install pipes, you will have to damage the walls.

The liquid used in such products does not end up under the mixer. This is a very important plus for many consumers, because the gasket does not wear out, and therefore you do not have to think about how best to replace it.

Another important advantage is that there are no heavy contaminants, which in conventional designs appear between the sink and the mixer. Such models also attract buyers because they are very stylish and look great in modern interiors.

Popular models

Popular among consumers is model Rosa "Oka"... This is a hinged structure that has a rather long service life. The country of origin of such sinks is Russia.

A very interesting option is a washbasin on a pedestal "Chamomile"... The material from which this product is made is faience. The pedestal is supplied as a set.

Mounting

To avoid getting a fake, you should choose products from a reliable manufacturer. It is recommended to entrust the installation work to experienced specialists. Various installation options for mixers and sinks are possible. It is worth taking a closer look at popular installation methods.

Mixer

On the wall from above

In this case, the mixer will hold the eyeliner. Such installation work can be carried out if the coating is rather hard, otherwise it will be pressed under the stops of the mounting angle.

When installing the product on the wall, many are faced with such a problem as the spread of the gaps between the mixer thread and tees on the surface. To compensate for it, you can use eccentrics (they are also called "scythe"). The eccentrics are connected to the mixer using union nuts with silicone or rubber gaskets.

To the table

Faucets, which are designed to be installed on a washbasin or sink, are great for mounting on a tabletop. Using this method, also you need to take into account certain subtleties:

  • You will have to carefully monitor the condition of the gaskets on the valve stems and under the drain. When installed on the edge of the sink, the liquid that flows into the sewer, and when installed on the countertop, it will suffer from the water itself.
  • The part of the sink or washbasin that is at the back (where there is no hole for the mixer) should not have a large shelf - otherwise, it is quite possible that water (strong jet) will be directed to the back of the washbasin, and not to its middle. It’s very uncomfortable to wash.
  • The nuts of the flexible connections will be hidden quite deep in the countertop. If it becomes necessary to change the liners, you will need to take the time to remove the faucet.

This method of installing the mixer has one indisputable advantage: the product will be fixed very firmly - it will not swing when the tap is opened.

Wash basin

The installation of the sink can also be done in different ways. It all depends on the type of product.

Anchor screws

Sinks that are made of artificial stone can be porcelain, earthenware and porcelain stoneware. They can be installed on the wall without using additional stops. Of course, you will need to take into account certain nuances:

  • It can only be anchored if the mixer is installed on a wall.
  • The back wall should be quite thick. It is quite natural that earthenware material with a thickness of only a few millimeters will not be able to withstand a strong load.
  • The back wall of the washbasin must be of considerable height.

The sink is attached to the anchor as follows:

  • First you need to mark the holes on the wall. The recommended distance from the floor to the sink is 850 mm. You can hang the sink a few centimeters lower if children live in the apartment.
  • It is recommended to use a special drill designed for tiled and glass surfaces. Much effort should be dispensed with. From time to time it is necessary to cool the victorious solders with water. The diameter of the plastic dowel should be slightly smaller than the hole in the tile material.
  • Then you need to use a puncher. It is necessary to drive the dowel into the wall and screw in the anchor screws - for this, use a hexagon or opt for an adjustable wrench.
  • Having installed the sink, using nuts with plastic washers, it is necessary to pull it to the wall.
  • Then, the seam between the wall and the washbasin should be sealed with a silicone sealant.

Brackets

Using brackets is a method that works for a wide variety of sinks. Thus, you can make the mount as strong as possible if the brackets themselves are sufficiently strong. In this case, there are some nuances:

  • It is recommended to attach the brackets to the wall using anchors.
  • For the brackets, special holes should be provided at the bottom of the washbasin.
  • If the fasteners are included, it will be fairly easy to get the job done. It is quite natural that the cost in this case will be higher, but you no longer have to think about what to do with the mount.

Curbstone

You can place the washbasin on a cabinet. In this case, you should install the mixer on the wall (above the cabinet) or directly on the furniture. This has no effect on the installation methods of the sink or washbasin.

Quite heavy sinks, whether ceramic, cast iron or made of artificial stone and other similar materials, are fixed with maximum reliability due to their own weight. Before installation in the hole, foam rubber tape must be glued to the edges of the sink. You can also use a sealant: it must be applied to the edge of the cabinet from the back.

Screw terminals can be used. Using these fasteners, press the stainless steel flush-mounted washbasin against the countertop. It is necessary to ensure tightness using the methods described above.

The overhead stainless steel sink should be laid on the side walls of the cabinet, and not on the countertop. It can be fixed using plastic corners with an oblique groove. When shifted to the side, they press the edge of the sink against the ends of the walls. However, a bar connected to the pedestals with metal overlays provides a more reliable fastening. It is placed under the edge of the sink.

Interesting examples

Many people choose the option when the faucet is attached to the wall above the sink - it is very convenient to use such a faucet.

Some owners prefer to install the faucet on a tabletop - this mount is very durable.

A sink or washbasin without a tap hole can look very sophisticated - such a product will become a real interior decoration.

For lovers of originality, a model of an unusual shape and bright color is suitable. However, when choosing such a product, you should always take into account the style of the interior - it should fit into the overall design as harmoniously as possible.
