To install a bath, it is often required to prepare a reliable and durable frame. With such strong supports, plumbing will last for years and remain stable. However, not all owners know how to make a basis for such items.

Many people are sure that unnecessary manipulations are not needed to install the bath; it is quite possible to do with the legs holding the bowl. Of course, in many cases this is true, and the installation of additional frame structures is simply not required.

The stability of such plumbing is provided by its massiveness and impressive weight. Lighter and more affordable models made of steel and acrylic cannot boast of such stability, therefore, for their installation, it is necessary to prepare a frame.

Very often, frame structures come with bathtubs. If there are none in the kit, then all the parts must be purchased separately.

Such design solutions look original and stylish. In this case, the plumbing configuration itself does not play any role. With this design, the frame will also need a cast-iron structure.

Not all baths have simple, symmetrical shapes. Today, stores sell many original options for non-standard shapes. Complete with these options are unusual frames, and entire platforms of a suitable structure. In addition, in such plumbing, wide sides are most often present, with the help of which the installation of the model is faster and more convenient.

In order for the product to lose its original appearance, it is necessary to put it on a frame base. You can handle the installation of the frame under the bath on your own. Such work cannot be called difficult. Moreover, the frame can not only be installed, but also made by hand. To do this, it is necessary to use exclusively high-quality and durable materials - the platform should be as strong and durable as possible.

The dimensions of the frame structure largely depend on the dimensions of the plumbing. For example, models with dimensions 170x80, 170x70, 100x70 cm should be installed on bases with similar dimensions. The dimensions of the bath depend on its shape. For example, the parameters 170x80 cm are typical for simple rectangular products, 194x100 cm - for oval ones, 130x130 cm - for corner ones.

It is imperative to measure all required surfaces before designing the frame.

Making a frame is a simple job. For the manufacture of a wooden structure, you will need pine blocks 40x40 cm, moisture-resistant plywood, edged board 28 mm thick. Frameworks from these components are created using a saw for wood, a hammer, a plane, a screwdriver and a chisel.

This process includes several stages:

• First you need to make the top strapping of the wooden frame. This is necessary so that the structure does not stagger in the future and does not "play" under the weight of the bath.
• It is necessary to set the racks in an upright position. On the shorter part of the structure, there must be at least one supporting part, and on the long side - 3–6 racks (it all depends on the dimensions of the bath itself). Fastening the bars to each other should be done with nails and self-tapping screws.

• You can proceed to the assembly of the upper strapping. It must be fixed to the walls with dowels. It is necessary to arrange the bars so that the sides of the bath rest on it. The most reliable structures are considered, in which steel fonts are supported simultaneously on 3 wall ceilings.
• After that, you can proceed to the installation of the bath.
• To make a frame from metal profiles, you need to put the bath in its main place, take all measurements, cut off the excess parts of the profiles and fasten them together.

• It is necessary to fit the frame under the bathtub in order to achieve the most snug fit of all the constituent elements. Then you need to weld the profiles together.
• The metal frame should be made taking into account that the drywall and tiles are then in the same plane.
• At the end of all work, it is necessary to close all joints between the bathroom and the ceilings with a special sealant or rubber.

Lined bricks can also act as a frame under the bath. They do not need to be cooked or complex boxes made, as is the case with metal or wood options.

• It is necessary to build two brick supports. They should be at a distance of 50-60 cm.
• As for the width of the support, it should not exceed the dimensions of the font itself.
• It is advisable to make the supports so that they follow the shape of the bottom of the bath bowl.

• In the place where the drain is located, the support should be a couple of centimeters lower in order to improve the outflow of water.
• Make sure that the sides of the bath are horizontal. There is no need to achieve a bias, because such elements, as a rule, are used even at the stage of manufacturing plumbing.
• At the end of the work, the bathroom must be placed on brick bases as on legs. To make the structure more reliable, it can be additionally attached to the walls.
• If there are gaps between the brick structures and the bottom of the bathtub, then they should be filled with tile glue or ordinary polyurethane foam.

Experts recommend following a few tips when making a bath frame.

• If a metal profile is used for the manufacture of the frame, then it should be further strengthened. To do this, you can use wooden blocks impregnated with antiseptics.
• A plumbing stand from a profile pipe also requires welding. This is perhaps the only difficulty that a home craftsman can face.
• It is very important to foam the outside of the steel frame. In such cases, a frame is designed for the screen. This design is simple and can be made without dismantling the font.
• To distribute the weight of the bathtub evenly, you can use more than just the legs. An uncomplicated substrate made of bricks and boards can also cope with this task.

• After connecting all communications, it is recommended to hide them behind decorative skirting boards.
• It should be borne in mind that all-welded structures (both home-made and factory-made) are less reliable than prefabricated ones, since assembling a base on bolts with your own hands is the same as making joints that are not inferior in strength to solid metal.
• It is recommended to equip a separate access door to the drain equipment so that it can be checked and repaired.
• For fasteners, it is worth using self-tapping screws treated with an anti-corrosion compound.
• For cladding the frame in the bathroom, only moisture-resistant drywall should be used. Ordinary material in such an environment will fail very quickly.

When tiling a bathtub with tiles, you cannot do without a frame structure. Interiors with such elements look very interesting and stylish. For example, a bowl surrounded by small square tiles in blue tones would look spectacular when paired with a blue tiled floor and an adjoining white wall.

The room will look interesting and elegant, in which the bath itself and the walls around it are decorated with glossy mosaic in sandy brown tones.

You can add a tile box not only to rectangular and square, but also to rounded fonts.
