It is impossible to imagine a modern shower or bathroom without a necessary element - a watering can. Variants of the produced watering cans surprise with a variety of shapes, functions and sizes. In addition, modern models are quite functional. To replace them, there is no need to change the entire set: it is enough to change the watering can itself. The use of various mounts for watering cans to the wall with the ability to rotate the structure in different directions is provided.

Types and designs

A watering can or shower head is used to split the flow of water into a large number of smaller jets, which is its main purpose. Of the types of watering cans, options with a flexible hose and a fixed structure of the water supply can be distinguished. The length of the flexible hose is from 150 to 200 mm. Some designs may use longer hoses. The height of fixed structures for supplying water to the shower head is from 150 to 250 mm.

The designs of the watering can also differ. There are three main types: top, side and ceiling mounts. The holder itself, as a rule, is made in a shape that allows easy removal of the watering can, if necessary. The watering cans used in shower stalls provide a change in the direction of the water flow, the number of jets, temperature, pressure.

The attachment itself can be rotated in different directions, removed from the mount, providing maximum comfort.

It is additionally protected from blockages and deposits that appear when using hard water. In addition, it is designed for easy cleaning during operation. The water outlet, speed and pressure are regulated in the shower heads in various ways by shutting off the main flow.

Currently produced watering cans differ in a wide variety of sizes. If the size of the shower head is small, the outlet water flow will have a high pressure. If a large watering can is used, more jets are produced at the outlet, and the pressure is less, the flow of water is softer. The rain shower head is available in sizes from 150 to 200 mm.

There are also different forms of making watering cans, which can be traditional round with a handle or built into the wall of the shower stall. Mostly round, oval, square and triangular options are used. Suspended structures with hot and cold water supply can be singled out separately. A large number of watering cans are produced with various light and color illumination of the outgoing water jets. It does not need to be connected to a separate power source, since the electricity for the LEDs is generated by a generator built into the shower head, which is powered by a flow of water.

Variants with the supply of one or several water streams to the watering can are structurally different. In the first case, one hose with a water flow of a ready temperature is suitable for the nozzle. In the second case, hot and cold water is supplied separately, they are mixed already in the watering can itself. In such designs, a mode is usually provided with the supply of jets of water with different temperatures (cold and hot) at the outlet for thermal massage. Recently, structures have appeared with the use of minerals (shungir, tourmaline or germanium) inside the shower heads.

According to manufacturers, passing through them, the water is partially cleared of chlorine, softened, saturated with ions with a negative charge, which contributes to the health of the body.

Modes of operation

In addition to dividing the water flow into a large number of jets, modern shower heads provide many possible operating modes. Let's designate the main ones.

  • Soft mode (the watering can has a large surface, a large number of fine jets are created, this mode is soft and pleasant for the body).
  • Tropical rain (harder mode created by a large number of outgoing jets).
  • One spray (no splashing, used for pouring).
  • Hydromassage mode (created by powerful swirling streams of water obtained using a special mechanism).
  • Mist (created by finely atomizing a large number of fine water jets).

In addition, they produce options that allow saturating the water flow with a large number of air bubbles, combining outgoing water flows of different directions, combining all possible options.

Recently, watering cans are gaining popularity, allowing you to save water consumption by up to 30% due to the manual control valve built into the watering can. This valve operates only when pressed by hand. It delivers a strong pressure of water. The rest of the time, the water flows in a weak stream through the narrow holes (this way its consumption decreases).

Materials (edit)

Depending on the materials used, watering cans differ in price, reliability and durability of use. For example, plastic watering cans are lightweight, have a large number of colors, and do not rust. But plastic structures under low load can break or deform. This often happens even with simple thread tightening.

The currently used metallized plastic is attractive but has the same disadvantages as conventional plastic construction.

Products made from silumin do not rust, they are tough, do not deform, but at the same time they are quite fragile. When fastening them, damage in the thread area is possible, accompanied by the appearance of cracks. Currently, the most robust, reliable and durable watering cans are made of steel, copper or brass. They have a higher cost, high reliability in use. Long-term service more than compensates for the investment.
