If you are a happy owner of a "Khrushchev" or other small apartment, but want to take a shower with maximum comfort, then pay attention to modern shower cubicles. They are optimal especially for small premises, and allow you to use every square centimeter of usable space.

There are many manufacturing companies on the market todayoffering similar products. Among them is the Finnish brand Timo, which offers shower cabins for every taste and budget. Our article is dedicated to the products of this world famous brand.

Peculiarities

Unfortunately, every day there are more and more fakes under the products of popular manufacturers. And Timo was affected by this unpleasant trend. Since the trade mark from Finland is very popular in the world, the scammers decided to profit on its name as well. In order not to fall for their trick, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the documents for the shower stall before buying. They should contain information about the official supplier or dealer of the company.

Not so long ago, Timo opened production facilities in China, which significantly increased turnover and reduced the price of cabins. However, this fact did not in any way affect the quality of the products.

One of the main advantages of the company is the use of reinforced acrylic as a material for shower trays.

Other companies tend to use lower quality ABS plastic. This fact testifies to Timo's respect for its customers.

Not everyone knows that ABS plastic can be hazardous to human health, since it can release formaldehyde during operation. Because of this, it is not recommended to use it for the manufacture of pallets. Reinforced acrylic is safe and attractive.

The aluminum part of the profile is made without coating with coloring materials, its structure has a T-shape. Due to this, the necessary indicators of stability and rigidity of the shower stall are achieved. The structure can be conveniently installed in any area, including the smallest bathroom.

Timo uses 5 mm glass for its shower stalls. It compares favorably with plexiglass or plastic for its durability and simplified maintenance process. During operation, its initial characteristics do not change. This is due to the fact that glass has impact-resistant properties due to the tempering carried out during the production process. It is difficult to break it, and if it happened, then it breaks up into fragments that exclude the possibility of injury.

The rollers for the undercarriage of the cab are made on a metal basis, since the plastic counterparts are not reliable. And this feature also allows smooth opening or closing without much noise: all profiles are offered with double modifications of rollers, which also favorably distinguishes the products of the Finnish company.

A single-lever mixer with a variety of useful operating modes is available for any booth. A very comfortable rain shower-type watering can is installed in the ceiling area. This technology uses the power of air to create large droplets of water, which, in turn, gently interact with human skin.

All Timo shower cabins have a high-quality hydromassage system.

This even applies to cabins belonging to the economy class category. For an additional fee, for any product, we offer the installation of a steam generator, which provides maximum comfort while taking a shower.

The visual appeal of Timo products is also high, since the design is done by professional and very experienced specialists. Most of the models are made with a mirror-type back panel. The shapes and unique elements inherent in the products of this brand are easily recognizable among counterparts from other manufacturers.

Advantages and disadvantages

Timo shower enclosures offer a number of advantages.

  • Excellent cost / performance ratio.
  • The presence of a high-quality hydromassage system in almost all models.
  • The use of an acrylic pallet, which provides a snow-white surface for a long time without the release of toxic chemical compounds.
  • For the manufacture of walls and doors for all models, toughened glass is used, which has impact-resistant characteristics - it is very difficult to break it.

Many customers who have been using shower stalls of this brand for several years now pay attention to some of the shortcomings of their products. These include:

  • the need to lubricate all elements with a sealant during the assembly of the shower stall structure;
  • the need to clean the drain after each use of the product;
  • low quality of models assembled in Russia;
  • too high a height of the cabins.

Range

The manufacturing company Timo offers about 170 different types of shower stalls. Buyers most often prefer corner or semicircular models, since they are characterized by increased ergonomics. Various sector versions, with a size of about 80x80 cm, are great for Khrushchevs - they save space, even if it is quite sufficient.

  • We are talking about the Timo T-1180 product, equipped with a hydromassage function, a radio point, and touch control. For the price, this configuration is considered the cheapest among all analogues of the manufacturer's extensive range.
  • Models with a slightly increased size can be used for more or less spacious bathrooms. The Timo T-1102 package has dimensions of 120x85 cm and offers an expanded set of features. Its pallet is installed at a height of 15 cm, which facilitates the operation.

  • Armo, Puro and Elta kits with a large glazing area should be placed in a separate category.
  • In the assortment line you can also find unusual models offering a traditional "bath" that replaces the pallet. The complete set of T-1140 is just one of this number, it is created on the basis of a bathtub 140 cm long. And the T-1170 has a length of 170 cm. These versions are completely closed with glass. They are not suitable for all bathrooms in terms of size, but they are still in demand.
  • Naturally, choosing the right cubicle comes down to personal preference and the size of the bathroom. People with disabilities due to age, disability, various diseases usually prefer low pallets because of the ease of use of the product. Timo offers especially comfortable shower stalls for this category of users. Among them are the Nura and Helka models.

Usually, the process of installing a shower stall is highly complex and you have to pay a specialist for this work.However, Timo products can be easily installed by yourself and save money on it.

What will be required for self-installation?

A small set of tools and materials, as well as attentiveness and a little time.

You will need to use:

  • wrenches of the right size;
  • drill;
  • screwdriver;
  • level;
  • silicone based sealant;
  • siphon;
  • flexible version of the hose;
  • elbow-type branch pipe.

The main stages of assembly

There are quite a few of them and you will have to be patient during the installation process. Let's take a closer look at the workflow.

  • A water outlet must be provided at a short distance from the main drain. A level is used to check the evenness of the floor.
  • A flexible hose is connected to a branch pipe; this will require a sealant. It is necessary to wait time for it to dry completely.
  • Then the flexible hose is mounted with a siphon from the pallet. And this connection must be strengthened with a sealant.
  • It's time to mount the pipe to the sewer channel using a pipe specially designed for this.
  • Next, we move on to installing the pallet itself. A wrench is useful for adjusting the height of the legs. The building level will help to check the horizontal position of the structure.
  • The pallet is now connected to the wall and the joint cavities are filled with more sealant.
  • The frame is checked for compatibility with the pallet. If everything is in order, then you can install a booth.
  • The metal base of the cockpit is assembled. The bolts are not immediately tightened strongly, as it is necessary to check the correct position of the structure connections. The level will help to check the verticality of the booth installation.
  • Both racks move away, with a drill holes are drilled to secure them. The joints are covered with sealant.
  • Then the racks themselves are fixed with dowels and plastic-type screws. The excess silicone is removed if necessary.
  • Side walls are installed.
  • Installation of doors is in progress.

For the most comfortable use, the company offers shower stalls with a remote control. Such models are especially popular today. The products of this brand receive a lot of positive feedback from customers who use shower cabins of various modifications.
