When equipping our home, each of us thinks very carefully about the improvement of the bathroom. Unfortunately, it is not possible to install a wide bathtub in each of them, and you can not even dream of the opportunity to become the owner of a jacuzzi. Therefore, for small bathrooms, as well as for spacious ones, in addition to the bathroom, you can choose compact designs - shower enclosures with a tray.

They fit perfectly into any interior, save space and do not require special maintenance.

Design options

Many European, and now ours, Russian hotels are equipped with multifunctional showers with glass walls and pallets. They are not bulky and correspond to the latest fashion trends in the field of design. Among other things, such a shower enclosure is very convenient for the elderly and people with disabilities.

All models with pallet are divided into two types:

  • frame;
  • frameless.

Both options are equipped with a convenient shower tray - metal or wood, with which a unique shower room design is created.

Frameless shower enclosures are a sleek and convenient option for your shower room, perfect for replacing a bathtub installation. Moreover, they perfectly replace entire showers, including various modes: spa, massage effect. This design can be installed in any part of the bathroom, glass rails are attached directly to the walls. Its top can be equipped with a roof, you can do without it. The shapes of such shower enclosures can be varied: in the form of a semicircle and rectangular, curved. They can be equipped with doors, you can replace it with a curtain.

Frameless cabins create the illusion of space in the room, create the integrity of the interior. In some cases, designers suggest installing such a structure even without a pallet - the water in such showers goes into a special hole - a sewer drain. The undoubted advantage of frameless models is the ability to select an individual order for any bathroom.

Frame rigid models are glass walls framed by a metal profile. The frame can divide your shower room into several zones.

Specialists subdivide frame structures into several types:

  • transformable frame - glass blocks move on specially arranged rails with the help of small wheels;
  • the stationary glass frame outwardly resembles a wall, it is very convenient and durable, as it is attached to the floor, to the walls and ceiling;
  • sliding models are equipped with sliding mechanisms, outwardly such a structure resembles a compartment or suspension systems;
  • modular frame systems are installed using clamps, they are very quickly assembled.

The metal frame itself can be of different colors - now it is very important to paint the metal black, which is in perfect harmony with the black and white tiles in the bathroom.

Pallets

If you decide to do without a bath and install a shower enclosure, then you need to think about the pallet. There are many options for installing it, and some even choose the option of a shower without it.

The tray allows you to take shower procedures with comfort and quite quickly.

By the way, a shower with a tray saves space in the bathroom, where you can put another washing machine and even a bathtub.

The shape of the pallets depends on your choice - it can be round, square and polygonal.The convenience of this choice will allow you to install a shower enclosure in any corner of the bathroom. The pallet is installed using a special siphon.

The height of the side of the pallet also depends on your preferences:

  • small - about 5 cm;
  • medium - up to 10 cm;
  • high or deep - up to 15 cm.

    To avoid slipping when taking a shower, make sure it has an anti-slip coating or embossed film. Some models can be fitted with a seat, which is very convenient for the elderly.

    You can install hydromassage racks on the pallet, and some models allow you not only to take a shower, but also to wash clothes and even bathe your four-legged friends.

    Pallets are made from the following materials:

    • Acrylic is a durable, easy to clean material. Such a pallet can last from 10 years. An acrylic pallet can have any shape, but the disadvantage of such a model is that without an inner reinforcing layer, it will sag under the weight of the body.
    • The advantages of a cast iron pallet are strength and durability. True, it does not heat up immediately, but it keeps heat for a long time. Cons - these pallets are heavy.
    • The steel model is usually covered with an enamel coating, which tends to crack. This is a significant disadvantage of the design. Steel pallets are inexpensive and not heavy.
    • The elegant ceramic tray is always pleasing to the eye. Pros: Easy to care for and very stable. Usually the bottom of the ceramic model is embossed, which will prevent you from slipping. Cons - nothing heavy should be dropped on ceramics - it can crack, and besides, it takes a long time to warm up.
    • Quartz pallets are an improved type of acrylic pallet, which contains silica dust, which prolongs the life of the product. Pros: noble appearance and durability, they are impossible to slip on, they perfectly absorb noise.
    • The strongest pallet is marble. The material heats up quickly, the appearance will remain for many years. The main disadvantage is the price.

    Sizes and shapes

    Correctly selected shower enclosures will be able to functionally distribute the zones of your bathroom, save space, install the necessary items, place a washing machine or a convenient shelf next to it.

    Before installing the shower enclosure, measure the heights of the ceilings and walls.

    All showers can be divided into three types:

    • small-sized models, the walls of which do not exceed 1 meter;
    • medium-sized - walls can be up to 1.5 m;
    • wide or full-sized - the length of the walls reaches 170 cm.

      As for the height, manufacturers offer high and low structures: in the second case, the height of the fences can reach 2.5 meters. Such tall structures require a spacious room with high ceilings.

      One of the most common patterns is equilateral. Such a cabin is easy to install and can be equipped with a sliding door. The standard dimensions of such structures are 90x90 or 100x100. They fit easily into a small bathroom and can be a decoration for any style.

      Another popular model is 120x80 cm and 120x90 cm in size.This size corresponds to the size of the bath, but washing while sitting is not very convenient, so the shower enclosure will become that comfortable area where you can not only take a shower, but also install a seat and various interesting options there. These shower enclosures can be fitted with a pallet of any size.

      Fencing

      The modern plumbing market offers a huge selection of shower enclosures with various enclosures. The most popular of them are glass.

      Glass

      The glasses used in shower enclosures are usually very durable: they are first heated to the maximum temperature and then cooled, as a result of which the glass becomes shock-resistant.

      The glass from which the fences are installed has a different degree of transparency:

      • Transparent - thanks to this glass, you will retain an excellent view of the entire bathroom;
      • Tinted or matte will perfectly complement the bathroom interior, smudges and stains are less visible on them;
      • Optivite is a novelty on the plumbing market, it is tempered glass with a polished edge that will prevent you from cutting yourself;
      • Glass with a pattern - in addition to the main purpose, such partitions can decorate any bathroom design. Patterns can be applied by diamond engraving or by sandblasting.

      Glass railings are installed with or without aluminum frames, with sliding doors - it all depends on your choice.

      If possible, the doors can be opened into four types:

      • sliding on casters - very convenient if there is little space in front of the shower enclosure;
      • familiar hinged doors open towards themselves;
      • folding doors are ideal for small spaces;
      • revolving doors can only be used in spacious bathrooms.

        Advantages of glass barriers:

        • lack of puddles on the floor;
        • fit perfectly into the interior of the bathroom with both panels and ceramics;
        • low thermal conductivity, that is, no condensation on the walls of the room;
        • safety - you will not be able to hurt yourself on the tempered glass;
        • ease of care.

        Tissue

        If your financial capabilities do not allow you to install glass fences, then today this is easy to fix: you can choose special curtains or screens, the choice of which is very diverse.

        Classic shower curtains with tray are a combination of metal or plastic curtain rod and holder rings. This is a very simple system, but it can add some chic to a small bathroom.

        If the bathroom, where the shower structure is installed, does not allow blocking it, then choose the corner model with sliding curtains.

        The material from which the curtains for shower enclosures with a pallet are made:

        • PVC (polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Oilcloth curtains are the most economical option. True, they will not last long, and after the edges have lost their original appearance, it is cheaper to change it than to clean it.
        • Polyester curtains They are distinguished by enviable durability, do not stick to the body, do not let water through. They look like fabric and hang in straight folds.
        • Fabric curtains - quite a rare thing, sometimes they have to be ordered in special online stores. The fact is that they are much more expensive than the previous ones. The fabric of these curtains is made from cotton and polyester or from linen and polyester. The pattern and texture of such curtains is varied - with ruffles, embroidery, various finishes. Visually, they are no different from natural fabric. For extra strength, fabric curtains are treated with a special impregnation. They must be washed and dried well to prevent mold or mildew from forming on them.

        Selection Tips

        When choosing the most suitable shower enclosure for your bathroom, evaluate the size of the room and the difference in cost between glass and fabric enclosures. It is also important whether you choose a wireframe model or not.

        A plastic frame is cheap, but its service life is much shorter than that of a metal one.

        A practical option is, of course, the frame version made of tempered glass - it is more expensive, but more wear-resistant.

        As for pallets - remember that inexpensive plastic pallets will not last you long: in addition to an unpleasant smell, they have a tendency to change size when heated and cooled.

        Acrylic pallets are more expensive, but they will perfectly complement any bathroom, fit into the "frames" of both PVC panels and tiles.

        The doors of your shower rooms also depend on your choice: sliding will save space; swing doors - ideal for a large room; folding will allow you to install your shower corner anywhere in the bathroom.

        Pull-out, fold-out, corner and other shower enclosures with a tray will be a great addition to your bathroom.
