Caring for plants includes not only regular feeding or harvesting, but also timely processing of trees and shrubs with specially designed preparations. Very often used urea, because it protects plants from pests.

What is it for?

Urea is called urea - a drug presented in the form of small solid white crystals. It is sold in granules. Fertilizer belongs to non-toxic compounds. It is obtained as a result of the synthesis of carbon dioxide and ammonia. It should be noted that urea contains approximately 47% nitrogen. For this reason, the substance is very important for the growth of trees and shrubs. Top dressing with urea stimulates the growth of green mass. With a deficiency of the necessary substances, not only the yield decreases, but also the appearance of the plants deteriorates.

Urea treatment in the fall is very important for the crops grown. This is due to the fact that during this period the level of humidity rises, and the air temperature also drops significantly. Such weather contributes to the rapid development of infections and diseases in trees and bushes. By treating the garden from pests and diseases with a carbamide solution, you can also improve the future harvest. Trees such as apple trees, pears, cherries, cherries need spraying. In addition, you can treat strawberries or some shrubs with urea, as well as garden crops. After treatment, the plants are healthy and strong. They bloom and bear fruit abundantly. They are not afraid of diseases such as rot, scab or spotting.

Here are some more benefits of using urea:

  • the drug acts instantly;
  • the effect lasts for a long period of time;
  • suitable for use both in open beds and in greenhouses;
  • urea is especially effective if the soil around the plants is highly moist.

However, you need to remember about the disadvantages of using this drug:

  • if you irregularly water the plants after treatment, then the substances will very quickly erode from the ground, and the effect will not be too noticeable;
  • after treatment with urea, the acidity of the soil increases;
  • urea is not compatible with some other drugs.

Dates of the

Ideally, the processing of plants should be carried out in late autumn, when the foliage from the trees has completely fallen off, because a concentrated solution can lead to burns on it. This can cause leaves to fall off prematurely and make trees and bushes too vulnerable to frost. That's why autumn treatment with urea is best done for the winter, that is, in the last month of autumn.

It is also worth remembering that spraying should be carried out in dry, calm weather. If it rains after processing the selected culture, then the procedure should definitely be repeated again.

How to breed?

A concentrated urea solution can be used to combat various garden pests. The dosage of the substance added to the solution depends on whether the plants were sick in the spring-summer period or not. If the fruit trees and shrubs did not hurt at all, it will be enough to add 300 grams of carbamide to one bucket of water. To spray infected or recovered plants, the concentration of the solution should be as follows: 500 grams per 1 bucket of water.

In any case, the resulting solution must be thoroughly mixed, and then filtered through a dense cloth or gauze.To slightly increase the effectiveness of the drug, you can mix urea with ferrous sulfate. The recipe for this mixture is quite simple: you need 350-450 grams of urea, 250-450 grams of ferrous sulfate and 1 bucket of water.

You can also use another effective recipe. To do this, you need to purchase:

  • 25 grams of citric acid, which is added to enhance the action of vitriol;
  • 350 grams of ferrous sulfate;
  • 600 grams of urea;
  • 45-50 grams of liquid soap or any dishwashing detergent.

All this must be poured into a 10-liter bucket of water and mixed thoroughly until smooth.

A mixture of copper sulfate with urea is also quite effective in pest control. The proportions of the solution are as follows:

  • 40-50 grams of copper sulfate;
  • 500-650 grams of urea;
  • 10 liters of warm water.

It should be noted that this mixture simultaneously copes with two tasks.... It feeds the earth and completely destroys harmful insects. The consumption rate of any of the solutions is as follows: 1 liter of the prepared mixture per 1 square meter of earth.

rules

It is worth noting that to combat harmful insects in the country, as well as for additional feeding of plants, the solution can be applied directly to the soil. You can also spray the mixture on selected crops. The main thing is to follow the existing instructions.... First of all, it is worth treating all mature fruit trees in the garden: pears, peaches, apple trees, etc. You can also feed shrubs: raspberries, strawberries, gooseberries, yoshta or currants. Also a mixture of urea is used for spraying grapes. You can also process flowers growing in a garden or flower bed with it - roses or hydrangeas, for example.

As for the young seedlings that were planted in the spring, they should not be processed. It's best to wait until next year for them to get a little stronger. Apply a substance such as urea at a temperature of at least 5-6 degrees. You will also need to remove all dry branches in advance. Be sure to wait for calm weather.

To increase the efficiency of using the solution for fruit trees, it is necessary to add iron or copper sulfate together with urea.

Spraying

Spraying a solution is a fairly effective way of processing... Especially for infected trees and shrubs, because in this way you can capture not only the trunks, but also the crown of the plants. It is not necessary to remove all fallen leaves from under the trees. They should also be treated with urea. Thus, all pests that have found refuge there will be destroyed. And the leaves themselves can rot much faster and turn into an excellent fertilizer in an apple or mixed garden.

Before spraying, it is necessary to loosen the ground under trees or bushes, remove all dry and broken branches. It is best to use a sprayer for this process, because in this way you can spray even trees whose branches are very high. Do not feel sorry for the mixture, as it will not bring harm. The main thing is to adhere to the recommended dosage. After 2 weeks, it is imperative to repeat the spraying for greater efficiency.

Soil application

Most often, urea is introduced into the ground when planting seedlings, but many gardeners prefer to use this method in the future. The logic is obvious, because urea releases ammonium, which decomposes very quickly when exposed to air. It is best to apply such fertilizer to a depth of 6 to 9 centimeters. In the autumn period, you can use only 60% of the required amount of urea, the rest of the substance can be added in the spring.

After applying the dry product to the ground, it must be watered abundantly. It is also worth remembering that if organic fertilizers were applied before, then the amount of urea must be reduced by at least a third. In the case of cultivation of vegetable crops, urea is also applied to the ground in the fall.Initially, you need to scatter dry fertilizers, and then dig up the soil.

Safety engineering

When treating plants with urea, certain safety rules must be followed.

  • First of all, you need to protect yourself. Both when cooking and when spraying the mixture, rubber gloves, goggles, and a respirator should be worn. This will avoid the negative effects of this substance.
  • Processing is best done in calm and windless weather. Be sure to watch so that there are no children or animals nearby.
  • After the end of the procedure, the gloves must be removed, then well washed with soap and hands and face. Used work clothes should also be washed.

Summing up, we can say that such a simple substance as urea is very beneficial for plants. After all, this is not only an excellent fertilizer, but also a tool that will help rid plants of harmful insects and infections.

But, as with any other similar drug, you need to work carefully with urea and strictly adhere to all instructions so as not to harm either the plants or yourself.
