All gardeners know how important it is to add the necessary components to the soil. Ammophos Is a complex fertilizer containing nitrogen and phosphorus. These water-soluble components are very important for the life of plants. The use of fertilizer during the growing season can improve plant growth. This is one of the best tools that gardeners and gardeners use.

Description and composition

Ammophos is classified as a phosphorus-containing drug. During the growing season, plants require regular feeding.

This superphosphate fertilizer is used when there is a lack of necessary components in the soil, including phosphorus.

When the agent is introduced, the development of the plant is improved. Superphosphate is used for vegetable and fruit crops. It is recommended to be used as an aid for sowing crops.

Ammophos Is a concentrated nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizer, which contains more than 50% phosphorus and more than 10% nitrogen. The specified proportion in the form of 52% to 12% can be considered the reference standard for the composition of mineral fertilizers. The product is 3 times more effective than a one-component top dressing.

It is recommended to use it in arid regions, because with a lack of phosphorus, plants will begin to develop worse.

It does not contain potassium, so the fertilizer is more suitable for processing soils that are rich in potassium. If there is a lack of potassium, it must be combined with ammophos or added additionally. The tool is more suitable for application to loamy and sandy soils, which are especially in need of additional feeding due to the characteristics of the soil. Mineral dressing is produced in the form granules... Phosphorus is present here in a water-soluble, well-absorbed form.

With the gradual dissolution of the granules, the plants are nourished for a long period. Ammophos is considered the best tool for working in greenhouses and greenhouses. Top dressing is hygroscopic, well stored, does not produce dust when introduced into the soil.

Ammophos is used:

  • in order to strengthen the root system;
  • to increase the resistance of various crops to unfavorable weather factors, to diseases;
  • to increase yields;
  • the use of mineral feeding affects the improvement of the palatability of the fruit;
  • fertilization affects the shelf life of the already harvested crop.

The introduction of ammophos affects the composition of the soil, increasing the effectiveness of various additional dressings. The advantage such a feeding is the possibility of quick application in the event of an acute deficiency in phosphorus.

The advantages of superphosphate include:

  • the possibility of introducing it into various types of soils;
  • the versatility of the drug;
  • the ability to use it at any time, regardless of the season;
  • the product helps to reduce the amount of nitrates.

In addition, the fertilizer is odorless, does not produce dust during operation, and is not toxic. Disadvantage the drug is a low content of nitrogen and other elements in it, so it must be combined with other fertilizers.

Release form

Ammophos has been produced for more than a dozen years. GOST 18918-85. Despite the fact that there are other similar preparations (including foreign ones), this fertilizer is very popular and has the necessary effect on the culture. The release is produced in the form of granules of grade "A" and in the form of powder of grade "B", while the ratio of the components in them will be the same.

  1. Granular means of brand "A" is used locally before sowing. It is produced in the form of granules with a size of up to 3.5 mm.These granules have a dense structure, which is convenient when working with them. When pouring the granules, the formation of dust, which could be unsafe for humans, does not occur.
  2. The "B" brand powder preparation is used as the main means for feeding perennial grasses and lawns.

Sell ammophos in well-packed sealed polyethylene bags or containers... Large agricultural enterprises have the opportunity to purchase it in bulk. Thanks to a specially developed formula, the drug is not able to accumulate moisture from the air, which makes it possible to increase its shelf life.

Application features

When applying such a mineral fertilizer to the soil the supply of young sprouts with nutrients, phosphorus and nitrogen is improved. This can be achieved with a sufficient concentration of granules at the root and near the seeds. With the gradual dissolution of the granules in the soil moisture, the plants are fully and regularly nourished for a long time, for example, during the growing season.

Ammophos, like other fertilizers, has certain features in application... It is chosen as a means for the main and then additional feeding. Often, to increase yields, ammonium nitrate or another nitrogen-containing agent is added to it in equal proportions, which will increase crop yields up to 30%.

In April and September, the main fertilization is usually carried out. Summer is the time for feeding. For this, the granules are laid in the soil to a depth of 6 cm. For early spring, a specially prepared solution is often used. To prepare it, you need to pour the granules into a large container and fill them with water in a ratio of 1 to 3. After the solution is left for several days to settle, then it is used.

Each culture requires special doses, as well as a special way of processing, so you should adhere to the instructions on the packaging of the drug, otherwise the product may not bring the desired result.

Phosphates can be taken in different ways by plants. So, for onions, you can use any method, while when digging it, you need to reduce the concentration to 10-20 g / m2. For carrots, it is better to use a feed, where 7-10 grams of the product is taken for 1 p / m.

Potatoes, beets, and grapes are especially in need of this remedy.

  • Potato... To increase the yield and increase the starch content when planting potatoes, 2 grams of fertilizer are added to the hole.
  • Beet... When planting beets, the drug is applied at 5 g per 1 running meter. Superphosphate is used to increase sugar build-up in beets.
  • Grape... To increase the concentration of useful elements in grapes and to prevent the accumulation of nitrates in berries, in the spring, the soil is treated with a solution prepared in the ratio of 400 g of the product to 10 liters of water. After 2 weeks, foliar feeding is carried out, where 150 g of the product is taken for 10 liters of water.

In addition, ammophos is used for vegetable and fruit crops, ornamental shrubs and grasses, as well as to improve the condition of the soil when there is a lack of phosphorus.

  1. For fruit crops with insufficiently saturated soil, use 20 g of the product per 1 square meter. For poor and depleted soils, 30 g is used, and 10 g of the preparation is used for feeding.
  2. Berry crops and shrubs require special care. Fertilizer is applied several times throughout the season. Since the beginning of spring, ammophos is applied under each bush at the rate of 15-30 g / m2. In addition, the agent is also applied to the aisles at a rate of up to 5 g / m2.
  3. For lawn grasses and flowers, take 20 g of the drug per square meter with the main application. During feeding, 5 g / m2 is used.

For bell pepper it is recommended to add the drug when digging.

To nourish an already formed bush, it is advisable to use an aqueous solution.

For cooking solution you need to dissolve 10 tbsp. tablespoons of granules in a bucket of hot water. It is better to apply such fertilizer during ovary and flowering. According to experienced gardeners, for tomato and pepper only ammophos is not enough, therefore it is better to combine it with other fertilizers, organic matter.

For root fertilization, take:

  • ammophos - 50 g;
  • mullein - bucket;
  • boric acid - 0.5 g;
  • 0.3 g of manganese sulfate.

All components should be thoroughly mixed. Ammophos is separately diluted with hot water.

    With a phosphorus deficiency, especially during the growing season, plant growth is inhibited. This has a particularly negative effect during the ovary of plants and during their flowering. Timely applied fertilizer, used when digging the soil in spring or autumn, can correct the situation.

    When using ammophos, you should follow safety measures.

    1. Before using the fertilizer, you should put on gloves on your hands and protect your body with closed clothing to prevent the substance from getting on your skin.
    2. When applying the drug, it is better to wear a respirator.
    3. After working with the product, wash your hands well with running water and soap. If the drug gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with soapy water.
    4. If a powder or solution is swallowed, drink plenty of water, then induce vomiting. You should see a doctor if necessary.

    Treatment with a product is not recommended in strong winds.

    Store fertilizers in a sealed, tightly closed container out of the reach of children and animals. The packaged product should be stored in dry places at temperatures from 0 to 30 degrees for 9-24 months.
