Trimming the lawn in front of the house, mowing the grass in the garden - all these gardening tasks are much easier to do with a tool such as a trimmer (brushcutter). If we take the type of power supply of equipment as a criterion, Oleo-Mac trimmers can be divided into 2 types: gasoline (petrol brush) and electric (electric trimmer). Electric scythes, in turn, are divided into wired and battery (autonomous). Each species has its own advantages and disadvantages.
For benzokos, the main advantages are:
- great power and performance;
- autonomy;
- small size;
- ease of management.
But these devices have disadvantages: they are very noisy, emit harmful exhaust during operation, and the vibration level is high.
Electric models have the following advantages:
- environmental friendliness and low noise level;
- unpretentiousness - do not require special care, only proper storage;
- light weight and compactness.
The disadvantages traditionally include dependence on the power supply network and relatively low power (especially compared to petrol cutters).
Rechargeable models have the same advantages as electric ones, plus autonomy, which in turn is limited by the capacity of the batteries.
Also, the disadvantages of all Oleo-Mac trimmers include the high cost of products.
The tables below show the main technical characteristics of the popular models of Oleo-Mac trimmers.

As you can see from the given data, the power of the petrol brush is almost an order of magnitude higher than that of electric trimmers... Rechargeable batteries are very convenient for artistic trimming of lawn edges - their limited operating time makes them unsuitable for mowing large areas of grassy areas.
It is more expedient to purchase gasoline units for use on problem areas of a tangible size with tall grass.
Adjusting the carburetor grass cutters
If your trimmer fails to start, or it develops an incomplete number of revolutions during operation, a thorough inspection should be carried out and the cause of the malfunction should be identified. Most often this is some kind of minor malfunction, such as a burnt out candle, which can be eliminated with your own hands, without resorting to the help of professional repairmen. But sometimes the reason is much more serious, and it lies in the carburetor.
If you find out for sure that you need to adjust the engine carburetor, do not rush to do it yourself, contact a customer service center. Adjusting the carburetor (especially from foreign manufacturers, including Oleo-Mac) requires the use of high-precision professional equipment, which you can hardly afford - it is quite expensive and does not pay off without constant use.
The whole procedure for adjusting the carburetor usually takes 2-3 days, in especially difficult cases this period is increased to 12 days.
How to prepare gasoline for an Italian brushcutter?
The Oleo-Mac brushcutter requires a special fuel: a mixture of gasoline and engine oil. To prepare the composition, you will need:
- high quality gasoline;
- oil for two-stroke engine (Oleo-Mac oils specially formulated for own engines are best suited).
Percentage ratio 1: 25 (one part oil to 25 parts gasoline). If you are using native oil, the ratio can be changed to 1: 50.
It is necessary to mix the fuel in a clean canister, shake thoroughly after filling both components - to obtain a uniform emulsion, after which the fuel mixture must be poured into the tank.
An important clarification: motor oils are subdivided into summer, winter and universal according to their viscosity. Therefore, when choosing this component, always consider what season it is outside.
In conclusion, we can say that Italian-made Oleo-Mac trimmers are quality equipment, albeit quite expensive.
