Axes "Trud": features of models and their application

The ax is mainly used for woodworking. Such a hand tool is simply irreplaceable in the household, especially when it is necessary to trim branches in the garden or remove excess growth. Axes "Trud", produced in the village of Vacha, Nizhny Novgorod region, occupy a special place among tools for household use, since they have a lot of advantages.

All products of this brand can be distinguished as reliable, high-quality, with a well-thought-out design. Highest quality steel is used as the blade. These are forged models with a wooden handle that has a slight bend. Thanks to this shape of the handle, it is very convenient to hold the tool in hand.

The weight of the "Labor" ax can vary from 0.6 to 1.9 kg, it all depends on the model chosen. Any of the household tools does an excellent job with the tasks. However, it is not suitable for chopping wood, since its blade is too thin, therefore it gets stuck in large logs. It is better to use a cleaver for this purpose.

The brand produces not only classic axes, which are necessary in the household, but also cleavers, tourist products. Each model has its own distinctive features, for example, a tool that is used for hunting or outdoors, has less weight and dimensions. The main requirement for a tourist hatchet is that it does not add a lot of weight, does not take up additional space, but at the same time retains the necessary functionality.

The taiga ax "Tiger" has a mass of 1.6 kg. It comes with a sheath that protects the blade during storage. This is a tool for tourism, so its length is 52 centimeters, and the width of the metal part is 21 cm.

The ax blade is made of high quality 60G steel, which is characterized by high strength and durability. The manufacturer provides quality certificates to the model.

The handle is made of wood, it is designed in such a way as to damp the recoil when working with the tool. The cutting part of the ax has a convex shape, which allows for a deeper immersion of the tool during operation.

The "Deer" ax model has a metal wedge in its construction, due to which the tool can be used as a cleaver, since it easily breaks thick logs. The main purpose of this tool, in contrast to the first described option, is the preparation of firewood.

The product is made by hand using traditional Russian technologies. It is lightweight, hence the ease of use. The weight of the structure is only 600 grams. Handle length 43 centimeters. One of the advantages can be considered the use of hand-forged and two types of steel:

• 60G;
• U7.

The hatchet is specially cut from hardwoods in a special shape, since such wood has the necessary elasticity and can absorb impact. As a nice addition, the ax handle is varnished. A protective case is supplied with the product.

When buying an ax of the Trud brand, there are several main points to take into account.

• The user should make a detailed inspection of the working surface of the tool. It is best to choose alloy steel, since it is considered the most reliable, although unalloyed and even tool steel will do.
• From the form, you can quickly determine for what purposes a particular model is intended. Cleavers have a thick wedge and a long handle that allows you to make a large swing and concentrate all the applied force on the log at the point of contact of the ax with the tree. Touring, carpentry and classic axes have a medium blade.

• The rounded edge on the cutting part of the tool allows not only stabbing, but also cutting, which is important when doing carpentry work. A well-sharpened blade will more easily enter the wood, but will have less strength. If it is supposed to cut large logs, then the sharpening angle should be 30 degrees.
• Particular attention to the ax is preferred if it is made of hardwood such as birch. Oak and ash are also suitable, since these are dense species that absorb shock well, with the result that the recoil is minimal. The fibers on the handle should be arranged along the length, since only then will such a handle not burst over time.
• The ease of use of the ax will depend on the weight of the tool - the lighter it is, the more blows will have to be applied to cut off a twig or chop a log.
