Recently, pink varieties of tomatoes have been very popular. As a rule, they are distinguished by high taste characteristics, a high content of B vitamins, and they also contain a lot of pectin, some antioxidants, such as lycopene, selenium, carotene. A striking representative of such tomatoes can be considered a variety of Ukrainian selection Zinulya. It is quite versatile: suitable for both greenhouse cultivation and outdoor cultivation. In addition, if the tomato is grown in a heated greenhouse, harvesting is possible year-round.
Description of the variety
Zinulya is a semi-determinant medium-sized tomato variety. Usually grows 0.6-1 m in height. It has a flexible, but at the same time strong and stable stem, which does not require any garter or support at all. The leaves on the stem are rounded, green in color, of normal size. Cultivation of the culture is carried out either in 1 or in 2 stems. The gardeners noted the high resistance of the culture to stress and various ailments.
The main qualities of the fruit
Zinul tomatoes have an even rounded shape, in terms of size they can be ranked as medium. They have a mass most often 150-200 g, but there are also larger ones - 300 g. The color of a ripe tomato is pink (according to other sources, red), which has a pearlescent sheen. The fruits have a very delicate and thin skin, therefore they are prone to cracking at high humidity.
Taste characteristics
Juicy Zinulya tomato has a sweet, sugar taste. Many even consider it delicious. At the same time, not only fresh tomatoes plucked from the bush, but also pickled, canned fruits have a bright tomato taste with a slight sourness. Sweetness prevails over sour notes. The pulp of the vegetable is quite fleshy, almost watermelon, there are very few seed chambers.
Ripening and fruiting
In terms of ripening, Zinulya belongs to the early varieties. From the moment the first leaves appear until the beginning of fruiting of the tomato, 80 days should pass. Harvesting can begin on August 10–20.
Yield
By performing all agrotechnical measures correctly, you can achieve a good harvest. For example, get about 4 kg of fruit from each Zinuli bush. And this is on average about 12-15 kg from 1 m 2 plantings. Unfortunately, the fruits are not at all transportable, especially over long distances, vegetables can be wrinkled or cracked quite easily.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
Seedlings of Zinul tomatoes are planted in the ground in the second half of May, and 55 days before this moment, the seeds are planted for seedlings.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
The place on the plot, which each plant must occupy for comfortable growth, is 40X50 cm. This means that more than 4 plants cannot grow per 1 m 2.
Growing and care
To get not only an early, but also a high yield of tomatoes, plants can be temporarily covered with a transparent film, which is immediately removed when warm weather sets in. Planting tomatoes is best done in those beds where legumes, pumpkin crops, root crops, herbs (parsley, dill), as well as cucumbers, cabbage and carrots previously grew. It is strongly not recommended to plant the Zinulya variety where potatoes, peppers, eggplants and physalis were cultivated.
It is very important that the area for planting tomatoes is well lit by the sun. Leaving is pretty simple, it is:
- watering twice a week;
- growing tomato seedlings in 1 or 2, and sometimes 3 trunks;
- introduction of organics and minerals during flowering, when setting fruits, as well as at the time of ripening.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Growing regions
The Zinulya variety can be successfully grown in those regions where the summer does not last long. The crop was originally recommended for cultivation in areas of risky farming.
