The main qualities of the fruit
The variety is bicolor, which combines red and green colors. These shades mix and form the original brownish-red brown with a rusty sheen. This feature of the variety became the reason for such an unusual name. Sometimes a spot forms near the stalk, which almost disappears as the fruit ripens. The tomatoes themselves are large, their weight reaches 300 g, the shape is heart-shaped-flattened, and the flesh has a burgundy-green tint.
Taste characteristics
Tomatoes of the presented variety boast a sweet taste with fruity notes, their pulp is juicy and fleshy. And although this is a universal variety, that is, one that can be used both for fresh consumption and for preservation, consumers do not recommend using the fruits, for example, for whole-fruit preservation because of their large size.
These tomatoes are not suitable for making juice and mashed potatoes because of their original color, but lecho from them turns out to be quite tasty and unusual. It is best to appreciate the taste of these tomatoes in salads, appetizers and various national dishes.
Ripening and fruiting

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
Sowing is carried out in late February - early March. When growing tomatoes Rusted heart of Everett, it is important to follow the rules of agricultural technology already at the stage of seed preparation. So, before sowing, they should be treated for 15 minutes with a solution of potassium permanganate, and then rinsed with plain water.
Sowing is carried out in containers with soil, embedding is carried out to a maximum depth of 1 cm.When 2-3 leaves appear, the seedlings dive according to the 10x10 cm scheme. The duration of daylight hours for seedlings should be 10-12 hours.
A week before disembarking on the site, the seedlings begin to harden, that is, they are taken out into fresh air. Every day, spending time on the street should increase. The transplant is carried out 60 days after sowing.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
In the greenhouse, seedlings are placed according to the scheme 50x100 cm.Top dressing begins to be introduced with the first signs of active growth; nitrophoska is suitable as the first additive (1 tbsp. L per 10 l of water). When the first flower cyst appears, the bush must be tied to the trellis, and the lower leaves must be cut off, leaving 1 cm of the petiole.
Growing and care
Tomatoes of the presented variety are grown only in greenhouse conditions. Tomatoes can react poorly to cold or rainy times, changes in daily temperatures negatively affect fruit setting, in addition, in cold summer conditions, the pulp of tomatoes loses its sugar content, which negatively affects their taste. But the variety tolerates drought and heat well.
It is recommended to form a bush in 1-2 stems. It is important not to forget about pinching during the entire growing season, and about a month before the end of the season, pinch the top of the plant so that the last tomatoes have time to gain weight.
Watering is carried out as needed to a depth of 3-5 cm. It is important not to get water on the foliage. In case of overflow, it is possible to obtain fruits with a mild taste. On the other hand, when the soil is overdried, the taste of tomatoes will only be brighter, but their weight will be less than expected.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
This variety is resistant to such common "tomato" ailments as top rot of fruits or fusarium wilting, but if the rules of agricultural technology are not followed, it can be affected by late blight.
As a prophylaxis against this disease, you can use soda or saline solutions, ash diluted in water, or a tincture of garlic, which, by the way, will also scare away pests. For treatment, you can apply kefir mixed with water in proportions of 1: 10. Well in the fight against late blight, the means "Hom", "Fitosporin", "Ordan" have proven themselves.
