The Yablonka Rossii variety is a popular tomato for planting in open ground and under a film in greenhouses. During fruiting, the plant resembles a tree covered with apples. It tolerates sudden changes in temperature and is undemanding in agricultural technology, it is resistant to many diseases. They are used in salads, sliced, for preservation with whole fruits, for juices and dressings.
Breeding history
The variety was created by domestic breeders: V. A. Vasilevsky, V. L. Korochkin, S. A. Korotkov, A. V. Dynnik. It was brought out in 1998 on the basis of ZAO Scientific and Production Corporation NK. LTD ". Added to the State Register in 2000.
Description of the variety
The bush is medium-sized, compact, grows up to 110-130 cm, the stem is thick, strong, medium-branched, the leaves are medium bright green potato type. The root system is developed, located on the surface. The inflorescence is simple, the first cluster is formed over 7-9 leaves, then after 2. Each cluster ties tomatoes. On one from 5 to 8 pieces. The type of growth is determinant, the standard variety. Suitable for open ground and for planting under temporary film shelters.
The main qualities of the fruit
Small size, weighing 70-80 g, ideal round shape, orange-red color, dense homogeneous sugary flesh, smooth and firm skin, not prone to cracking. The seeds contain enough. Tomatoes contain an increased amount of dry matter. They are well transported, do not wrinkle, and can be stored for about 2 weeks.
Taste characteristics
The taste is classic tomato, with a slight sourness, the fruits are fragrant.
Ripening and fruiting
In terms of ripening, this is an early tomato; from the moment of emergence to harvest, 75-100 days pass. The fruits ripen together, at the same time there can be 70-100 tomatoes on the bush. Can be removed unripe, ripen quickly.
Yield
4-5 kg are removed from one bush. The main crop is obtained in July-August, but the variety bears fruit until mid-September. Regular removal of fruits stimulates the formation of new ones.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
Seeds are sown at the end of March - for the middle lane, at the beginning of April - for the Urals and Siberia. It is better to take a little more seed material - the percentage of germination in Yablonka Russia is slightly lower than that of tomatoes - about 50-70%.
For seedlings, a mixture of earth is prepared, which contains: 1 part of garden soil, 2 parts of peat, 1 part of humus, 0.5 part of river sand, in addition, superphosphate, potassium sulfate and urea are added. To improve the friability add: crushed sphagnum moss, fine sawdust or coconut chips. The composition is disinfected by calcining in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 200 degrees, or spilling with a strong solution of potassium permanganate.
The seeds are soaked for 3-4 hours in warm water: those that float to the surface are not viable. The rest are treated with pink potassium permanganate and growth stimulant.
They are planted in containers or cups, placed on the surface of the earth, and then a 1 cm layer of earth is poured on top. Moistened with a spray bottle, then covered with glass or film, left in a warm place at a temperature of +25 degrees. After pecking, the sprouts are transferred to a bright place.
Dive at stage 1 of this leaf. Water as needed. They are fed 2 times with a solution containing a complex fertilizer for nightshades. Before planting, the seedlings must be hardened for about 2 weeks. They are transferred to the beds in late May or early June, the seedlings should have 6-7 true leaves.
Tomato prefers sunny places, closed from wind and drafts. The culture is tolerant of the composition of the soil, but it will best bear fruit on a fertile and rich in organic matter substrate. Humus is introduced into the seedling bed - 1 bucket per 1 sq. m and ash 0.5 liters per 1 sq. m, then dug up, add superphosphate and borofosk to the holes for seedlings, spill until liquid mud is formed. Seedlings are planted by transferring them into the resulting liquid mixture. The first 10 days at night must be covered with spunbond or film.
In the south, sowing in a seedless way is permissible. Seeds are sown in the garden from mid-April.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
They are planted at a distance of 40x50 cm or 30x60 cm. For 1 sq. m planted no more than 3 plants.
Growing and care
The variety needs moderate pinching. The stem is tied to a support, it is imperative to tie up massive fruit brushes. Lateral shoots are cut off to the first flower cluster. A plant is formed into 2-3 trunks. It is recommended to water rarely, but abundantly at the root - 1 bucket of water per 1 plant, during flowering, only half of the norm is poured, after watering the soil is loosened. After reddening, the fruits are irrigated only if there is no rain for a long time. Drip irrigation can be arranged. The soil is loosened carefully - the roots are close to the surface, mulched with hay or cut grass. During the season, it is recommended to huddle 3-4 times, raising the soil layer closer to the leaves. They are fed with nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizers once every 2 weeks, wood ash is scattered between the rows for feeding and prevention of diseases and pests.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
Differs in high immunity to fungal and viral diseases such as Alternaria, Verticillium, Fusarium. In the wet and rainy season, it can get sick with late blight. For prophylaxis, spray with 1% Bordeaux liquid, copper sulfate solution, Alirin-B.
Of the pests are dangerous: aphids, thrips, spider mites. Treatment is carried out with soapy water with the addition of ash or infusion of onion husks, garlic, celandine. When using chemicals, the procedure is carried out no later than 3 weeks before harvesting. The exception is Fitoverm bioinsecticide. To protect against insects, they plant between the rows: calendula, marigolds, mustard.
Resistant to adverse weather conditions
Differs in drought resistance. The variety is undemanding to the composition of the earth. Bears fruit in hot and cold seasons.
Growing regions
Recommended for planting throughout Russia, except for the Far North. Very popular in Ukraine and Moldova.
Review overview
Gardeners note the natural taste of tomatoes and the pickiness of the Yablonka Russia variety. The variety is so stable that it is not afraid of rain, abnormal heat, or hail, suitable for those who cannot devote much time and effort to caring for the crop, it is also called "tomato for the busy". I really like the shape and size of the tomatoes - they can be conveniently placed in canning jars. Ideal for disembarking in the southern regions.
