The Solerosso tomato is a vivid representative of "seaming" tomatoes with medium-sized, but very beautiful, abundant fruits. Bred in 2005, included in the State Register of Varieties of the Russian Federation.
Description of the variety
Determinant hybrid variety up to 65 cm high, can grow up to 100-150 cm. Leaves are green, with a bluish tint, medium size and density. The bushes are not liquid, but they are not strong either, the internodes are quite graceful. However, they perfectly support the weight of the fruit.
The main qualities of the fruit
Fruits are medium-sized, 60-70 g, obovate, close to an ideal ball. Aligned, of even size, one brush can contain up to 12-15 tomatoes, but usually 5-6. Ribbing is sometimes there, but very weak. The fruit separates well from the stalk.
The color of unripe fruits is light green, ripe tomatoes have a classic bright red color. The color is very clear and vibrant. The skin is elastic, shiny, dense. The pulp is bright, evenly colored, juicy. The variety is not prone to the formation of whitish areas. The seed chambers are medium.
The fruits are deciduous, transportable, even ripe removed from the bush, retain their presentation for 15 days.
Taste characteristics
The taste is good, sweet and sour, balanced, with a sharp and bright tomato aroma. The pulp is pleasant to the taste, tender and firm. A variety of universal use. Good fresh: salads, sandwiches, stuffed tomatoes, vegetable caviar, soups, main courses.
Ideal for workpieces. Looks great in whole-fruited seaming in transparent marinades. Perfect quality pulp is suitable for high-quality ketchups, pastes, sauces and juices.
Ripening and fruiting
The variety is ultra-early ripening, the fruits can be removed 90-95 days after germination. The mass return of the crop occurs a week after the ripening of the first fruits. Harvested at the end of July, in August.
Yield
The yield is excellent for small-fruited early tomato - up to 8 kg per 1 sq. m.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
Seeds for seedlings are sown in March - early April, in late May - early June, seedlings are planted in open ground or greenhouses.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
In the aisles they are kept 60 cm each, 40 cm are left between the tomatoes.
Growing and care
The variety is undersized, no garter required. Passionate is not necessary. The plant is early, so it does not have time to "pick up" the usual tomato sores, almost never get sick.
Since the hybrid is early, carpal, with a large number of potential ovaries, it will be useful to shake the brushes during the flowering period for better tying.
The rest of the care is normal.
Careful cultivation of seedlings. This is a key period for early tomatoes. Sowing seeds too early is not recommended, it is better to focus on good lighting. A pick after the appearance of a pair of true leaves, individual containers of sufficient size for the development of a good root system.
If the tomatoes were planted in nutrient soil, then there is no need to feed the seedlings.
The soil is carefully prepared for planting, this will save you from the hassle of feeding, regulate watering (the looser the soil, the less the risk of water stagnation). In each planting hole, the soil is prepared separately: for 1 part of the earth, take 1 part of humus, 1-2 glasses of sand, 2-3 tbsp. tablespoons of ash.
Watering. All tomatoes love even, regular, abundant watering. Watered at the root, with warm water, gently adjusting the watering to the conditions, increasing in dry hot weather. With good watering, a Solerossa tomato can grow up to one and a half meters, and the fruits will be very sweet.
It is better not to get carried away with top dressing. Low-growing technical modern hybrids have enough nutrients from the soil. If desired, the ovaries can be sprayed with a boric acid solution - this will improve the setting of the plant. For a more intense taste, they are fed with fertilizers containing phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, selenium and zinc 1-2 times per season.
Vertex rot is not affected, but on this score the reviews are contradictory. Therefore, it will not be superfluous to soak only purchased seeds in potassium permanganate, and then the usual preventive measures: spraying with an ash solution, fertilizers with a sufficient amount of calcium.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Review overview
This Dutch kid has managed to earn a lot of positive feedback, many have even written him down as favorites. Gardeners like a compact plant that does not require garters or pinching. It practically does not get sick, indeed, belongs to the category of varieties "stuck in the ground - collected a bucket of excellent tomatoes."
The fruits of the variety are not gourmand, but for the early ones they are very tasty, with a fairly well-pronounced sweetness and sourness, fragrant, not bland. Good commercial qualities, beautiful color and keeping quality did not negatively affect the taste. Very friendly return, not crumbling fruits, harvesting is always pleasant - every time an impressive collection. The variety will delight those who appreciate the size, marketable appearance, early recovery and unpretentiousness of plants.
