Breeding history
The heart of Siberia is the result of Russian selection. The author's group of experts from outside Moscow, consisting of V.V. Ognev, V.V. Korchagin and T.A.Tereshonkova, completed work on the creation of culture in 2014. And already in 2015, the variety was included in the State Register of the Russian Federation for growing both under film and in the open field on the territory of personal subsidiary farms. The role of originators was assumed by the well-known companies OOO Center Ogorodnik and OOO Agrofirma Poisk.
Description of the variety
The bush Heart of Siberia is powerful, the plant is tall, indeterminate, it can stretch up to 1.5, and up to 1.9 m. The foliage grows large, light green in color. The inflorescences on the trunk are simple, they have articulations.
The main qualities of the fruit
As it is already clear from the name of the variety, the shape of the fruit is heart-shaped, smooth or slightly ribbed. They are quite massive, the weight of one fruit is always more than the 350-gram mark, on average - 350-400 g, and sometimes it reaches 600 grams. Unripe fruits are light green in color. Ripe vegetables are bright pink, glossy. The inside of the tomato contains more than 6 seed chambers.
Taste characteristics
The huge fruits of the Heart of Siberia are of medium density and tender skin. These are salad, tasty tomatoes, they have a very juicy pulp with a bright aroma. Well suited for making juices, other processing, but more often they are consumed fresh.
Ripening and fruiting
The heart of Siberia is considered an early maturing variety. After germination and before the fruits ripen, only 92-110 days pass. Varietal tomato bears fruit for a long time. The dates for harvesting fruits, mentioned in official sources: from June 25-30 until the last days of August.
Yield
The described tomato variety has a high yield. Marketable fruits ripen in the amount of 7.9 kilograms per square meter of the plantation.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
The culture already has sufficient cultivation practice. Therefore, all the terms have already been verified. So, sowing seedlings should be planned from 10 to 20 March. And the transfer of finished seedlings to the ground is carried out from May 5 to 25. More accurate dates are subject to local adjustments based on specific conditions.
