Tomato Pink Passion is a spectacular collection variety of American selection, which has managed to fall in love with Russian summer residents. It is very good in the open field, gives large and beautiful fruits, not too demanding in care. This variety is also known under the names Dwarf Pink Passion, Pink Passion, Dwarf Pink Passion.
Breeding history
The variety was obtained by crossing Anna Banana Russian and Roza Vetrov tomatoes by breeders from Australia and California. Developed under the auspices of the Dwarf Tomato Project. It was launched for commercial use in 2015. Initially, the varieties of this series were bred with an orientation towards cramped growing conditions. They give abundant fruiting, give the harvest in unison.
Description of the variety
Determinant tomato with a bush height of 50-80 cm, variety Pink Passion is formed according to the standard type. Leaves are wide, wrinkled, well developed. They resemble potato. The inflorescences are simple, the racemes are formed early, several at a time.
The main qualities of the fruit
Tomatoes with a pink tint of the skin have an average size of the fruit, reaching a mass of 100-150 g. The shape of the fruit is heart-shaped. There are many seed chambers, they are small.
Taste characteristics
Tomatoes of this variety have sweet fruits with a pleasant sourness. The taste is typical for lettuce tomato, pleasant.
Ripening and fruiting
The variety is mid-season. Harvesting begins 105-115 days after planting.
Yield
High-yielding variety. Up to 7-8 kg of fruits can be harvested from 1 m2, subject to agricultural technology. Up to 2.5-3 kg are removed from the bush.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
Passion pink is a variety that requires sowing seeds in the ground 40-60 days before transferring to the ground. Before being placed in containers, they are soaked for about half an hour in an organic growth stimulator. Tomatoes are transferred to the ground with 6-7 true leaves and a flower brush.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
Tomatoes are planted at a density of up to 4 plants per 1 m2. Even a sealed scheme of 40 × 40 cm will do.
Growing and care
A garter is recommended for the bushes. They are also sensitive to soil fertility and need regular watering and feeding. Particular attention is paid to this at the stage of ovary formation. It is customary to keep the bush itself in 1 stem - it does not need support, but the brushes are quite heavy for a semi-dwarf tomato. That is why they are tied up to avoid breaking the shoots.
In the southern regions, direct sowing of tomatoes of this variety in open ground is practiced. In regions with short summers, cultivation in a greenhouse is optimal.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
Tomatoes Pink Passion are not affected by late blight, macrosporiosis. The variety is resistant to other diseases of nightshade crops, but provided that the normal moisture level is maintained. In greenhouses, it can suffer from insect pests - spider mites, aphids. In the open field, it practically does not get sick; for prevention, it is recommended to periodically carry out preventive pest control.
Resistant to adverse weather conditions
This tomato variety is unpretentious, capable of withstanding short-term deterioration in weather conditions. In shading, with a small number of sunny days, it develops with a delay, sets fruit worse, loses resistance to fungal diseases.
Review overview
Summer residents who have tried to grow the Pink Passion tomato give it a rather high assessment. When grown outdoors, the bushes are very strong, low. They easily tolerate temporary deterioration of the weather, the influence of other factors. The fruits are praised for their large size, great taste, bright color. It is noted that, after lying down for a while, they gradually become tastier.

Here they are quite sensitive to the choice of substrate, grow well in large containers filled with perlite, vermiculite and coconut fiber, sometimes with peat and other additives. According to the owners, Pink Passion needs regular watering, timely sowing without unnecessary rush.Summer residents are advised to grow tomatoes in a greenhouse in a humid climate, not forgetting the need to pinch the plants.
