The so-called musical series of tomatoes, which includes such varieties as Etude, Nota, Overture, Fugue, Rhapsody, is distinguished by the fact that the fruits (like notes) grow with even brushes. Some varieties have even fruits that are evened in size. As a rule, these are indeterminate plants; the series is characterized by shortened internodes. One of these varieties - Rhapsody NK - will be considered in more detail.
Breeding history
The hybrid of the first generation was developed at the Scientific and Production Corporation “NK. LTD "at the end of the 90s of the last century. At the same time, an application was filed for admission to use. The year of inclusion in the State Register for the Russian Federation became 2001. Tomato Rhapsody NK is approved for cultivation in the Central region, and is also recommended for cultivation in the 3rd light zone in the extended circulation.
Description of the variety
Plant of indeterminate type, vigorous, with shortened internodes. Leaves are medium in size, green in color. The inflorescences are simple. The first of them will be laid after 8-9 sheets, then every 3 sheets. The main valuable, even unique, feature of the hybrid is that it can be used with a low-volume technology for growing vegetables. At the same time, the plants show high yields, excellent marketability of fruits (tomatoes are all even as for selection) and the safety of this type for 3-4 weeks.
The main qualities of the fruit
Rhapsody of NK is characterized by round, smooth fruits. At the stage of ripening, the color of the tomato will be light green, while mature tomatoes are bright, red. Each berry has 2-3 seed chambers. They weigh an average of 146-152 g. This "musical" variety is a bright representative of the bristle tomatoes. Each brush contains 7 absolutely identical aligned fruits, sometimes there are more of them. An analogy with notes involuntarily suggests itself.
Taste characteristics
Tasters and tomato lovers alike note the taste of Rhapsody NK as good and excellent.
Ripening and fruiting
Fruits of the early ripening variety Rhapsody NK ripen 107–119 days after seed germination. Differs in long-term fruiting from July to September.
Yield
Almost all hybrids included in the "musical series" are distinguished by an impressive yield, up to 40 kg / sq. m, if grown in extended circulation. Rhapsody of NK is no exception. Its collection is 28.5–31.7 kg / sq. m. At the same time, the output of marketable products is quite high: 97–99%.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
For seedlings, seeds of Rhapsody NK can be sown in March. And the seedlings are transferred to a permanent place in the ground in May.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
The optimal planting pattern will be 40X50 cm.
Growing and care
Care and cultivation of NK Rhapsody is not particularly difficult. It is only necessary to pay attention to pinching, the formation of bushes. And you will also need a garter of the stems.
To ensure the normal growth of the crop, formulations with phosphorus and potassium are used for fertilization. Top dressing should be applied about 6 times during the growing season.
The hybrid needs frequent and thorough weeding. Watering is required only with warm water. Prevents evaporation of moisture from the soil by mulching the soil.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
When breeding a hybrid, breeders have achieved a stable resistance of the crop to many diseases and pests. So, Rhapsody NK is resistant to TMV, fusarium, rootworm nematode, cladosporium, verticillosis.
Resistant to adverse weather conditions
The musical variety Rhapsody NK is stress-resistant, while the berries are tied in the most unfavorable weather conditions.
Growing regions
The State Register recommends the Rhapsody NK variety for the Central region of Russia, which includes Bryansk, Vladimir, Ivanovsk, Moscow, Tula, Ryazan, Smolensk and Kaluga regions.
