To date, a great many hybrid varieties of tomatoes have been bred. Their characteristic feature is considered to be such characteristics as wonderful taste, ease of growing and high yield. One of these is a hybrid called Premium.
Description of the variety
Despite the fact that it is recommended to cultivate a tomato in plastic greenhouses, it will feel great in open areas and in greenhouses. The type of growth of the bushes is determinant. Tomatoes are usually eaten fresh in order to fully enjoy their taste. Plants reach a height of 70 to 80 centimeters. They are compact and neat shrubs with good foliage. Standard green foliage, medium in size.
The type of inflorescences is simple. The first inflorescence appears above 5 or 6 leaves, and the rest alternate every 2 leaves.
The main qualities of the fruit
Like other unripe tomatoes, they remain green until ripe. Ripe vegetables turn a bright red color. They gain 130-140 grams in weight, and are large in size. The shape is rounded, has a small pointed nose. The pulp is fleshy and dense, covered with a firm and glossy skin. Dry matter - 5.6-5.8%.
Inside, from 3 to 4 seed nests are formed. The crop tolerates transportation without any problems. Ripe vegetables are great for snacks and salads. And also premium tomatoes are harvested for the winter. You can also make pasta, juice, sauce, or ketchup.
Taste characteristics
Taste quality is excellent. This characteristic is strongly influenced by adherence to agricultural technology and growing conditions.
Ripening and fruiting
Tomato Premium belongs to the early varieties. The ripening time of the crop is from 95 to 100 days. As a rule, the crop is harvested from July 20 to the end of August. Under certain conditions, the above terms can range from 85 to 95 days.
Yield
The yield is high. Up to 15 kilograms of vegetables can be obtained per square meter of land. One bush grows from 4 to 5 large and beautiful tomatoes.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
In 15-20 days of March, you can start sowing seed for seedlings. Young seedlings are transferred to the ground between May 10 and 20. For germination, use a light and fertile soil in which the seeds will germinate quickly and will develop without problems. Deepen the grains by a maximum of one and a half centimeters. Containers with future seedlings are transferred to a warm room and covered with foil or transparent glass. As soon as the first shoots became visible, the shelter is removed.
And also seedlings need a lot of sunlight, so they are transferred to a windowsill or other well-lit place. The optimum air temperature for growing seedlings is +24 degrees Celsius.
The pick is carried out after the formation of the first leaves. Before starting the procedure, you need to prepare individual containers in advance.14 days before the transfer of the bushes to the greenhouse or to open areas, the plants are fertilized with liquid minerals.
The selected area is also prepared. Humus or wood ash is added to the ground. And you also need to dig a sufficient number of holes. One bush is sent to each planting hole. Sprinkle seedlings with earth and watered with warm and settled water.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
To make the tomatoes comfortable in a new place, you need to plant them correctly. The landing pattern is 70x60 centimeters.
Growing and caring
Caring for a vegetable plantation is not difficult. Subject to simple rules, even novice gardeners will cope with the task. Pinching is carried out regularly. Lateral processes are removed before they reach 3-4 centimeters. In greenhouse conditions, excess shoots are removed only once. Plants need support. Shoots are carefully tied to the trellis.
Hybrid bushes form 1 or 2 stems. When choosing the second material, it is important to preserve the main shoot and the stepson, which is formed below the first fruit cluster.
And also caring for a fruit crop includes the following:
uniform and regular watering with warm water;
loosening the top layer of the soil;
weeding the site and cleaning it from weeds;
fertilization.
Organic and complex mineral compositions are chosen for feeding. During the growing season, tomatoes are fed at least 4 times.
Tomatoes are very fond of sunlight and practically do not tolerate stagnant moisture.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
The Premium variety is highly resistant to the following ailments:
tobacco mosaic;
bacteriosis;
alternaria;
stolbur.
If the bushes grow in high humidity conditions, they can suffer from late blight. For the purpose of prophylaxis, during the formation of buds and tomatoes, plants are treated with the preparations "Profi Gold" and "Barrier". At the start of the growing season, the plantation is treated with the compositions "Zubr", "Confidor", "Tanrek". Such a simple procedure will protect the garden from spider mites, aphids and other harmful insects.
