Tomato Daddy's daughter was first approved for consumption in 2021 after all mandatory inspections and quality tests.
Description of the variety
Its growth belongs to the class of determinant, which means that it will not grow to a huge size, thereby creating a lot of inconvenience to gardeners. When forming a bush, gardeners usually distinguish three main stems, which do not impede the growth and development of the plant. The height of the bush does not reach more than one meter.
It is a resistant hybrid, copes well with parasites and harmful microorganisms, such as top rot, verticillosis, mottling and fusarium wilting.
An equally important advantage of this variety is its resistance to extremely high temperatures. Even if the summer turned out to be extremely hot and sultry, the fruits will still be resistant to cracking and drying. Unsuitable weather will have little effect on the state of a ripe fruit, whose full ripening averages almost 100 days.
The main qualities of the fruit
The relatively short terms of development and full ripening of this variety make more and more gardeners look closely at this particular option, and in combination with a fairly high yield, they bring this hybrid to the top of the most popular tomatoes.
The weight of a standard fruit is about 140 g, and the number of tomatoes on one cluster can reach 10 pieces. This feature is very convenient when harvesting, while it significantly speeds up the entire process of work. And for a good result, you will not need to plant long and huge beds.
The shape of the fruit itself has a heart-shaped shape with small folds and without a spot at the tail, while it has a very thin and soft skin, which is almost not felt when eaten. It has a pleasant cold pink tint as a healthy color, while the nose has a more juicy and bright color.
Taste characteristics
The main flavoring feature of this variety is a distinct sweet aftertaste, which gives it a special freshness. It is worth noting that it is not cloying, which means that even those people who do not really like sweets will like it. In the section, you can see that it has about three chambers with seeds, this will be convenient if you like to eat cut tomatoes, as it will lose its juice more slowly.
The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for canning in whole or in parts. Ideal for making salads or for making tomato paste. The taste opens up well in combination with meat dishes or as a side dish.
Ripening and fruiting
The unripe fruit has a pleasant light green color. With proper care and timely watering, no spots or other neoplasms should appear on the surface. The formation and ripening of the finished fruit occurs within 95-100 from the moment of planting in the ground. Such a short period is usually called early, and the first tomatoes can be harvested in July.
The leaves of a completely healthy bush are of a pure dark green tone, while their length is medium. They should not curl or dry out prematurely. If you find these symptoms on your bush, then carefully examine it for the disease.
Yield
The bushes of this variety have an increased yield (about 13 kg / sq. M), especially in comparison with older analogues. Due to the rather large mass of one fruit and a large brush, which can contain up to 10 tomatoes, this variety does not need a wide area, it saves space in your summer cottage, freeing it up for planting other plants.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
Sowing for seedlings of this variety begins in early spring, preferably in early March. After the plants have grown to the desired size, you can safely begin transplanting into open ground. It is advisable to start planting seedlings in late spring or early summer (the most suitable time: May-June). Do not delay the transplant or carry it out too early, as the sprouts may not take root due to unsuitable conditions and die, or grow inadequate, and give a meager harvest.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
Planting is best done no denser than 4 bushes per square meter. Since the bush can be quite wide and block access to sunlight for its neighbor. Prepare the soil for planting in advance for better plant growth and development. This variety can be planted both in the greenhouse and outdoors. He does not care about room conditions.
Growing and caring
Let the size of the bush and does not reach more than 100 cm, but it needs a mandatory garter, since rain or strong winds can bring down the garden. Moreover, the fruits weigh quite a lot, and the stems may simply not withstand such a weight.
Do not plant tomatoes in the shade, as this can slow down the ripening process several times. They are very light-requiring, so the place for their planting should be in the sun.
At the same time, tomatoes need abundant watering. If you deny them a sufficient amount of moisture, then they can quickly burn out in the sun, fade and dry out. It is necessary to maintain the correct balance, as excess moisture creates a favorable environment for the development of mold or other fungi.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
Thanks to the dihybrid crossing, Daddy's daughter's tomato is very resistant to many parasites and diseases. But do not forget that the immunity of a plant is not infinite, which means that it may well become a victim for pests. The same rules must be followed as with other varieties.
If you suddenly notice the appearance of strange spots or curling leaves, then you need to disinfect the bush as soon as possible and examine the neighboring ones for infection. If disinfection does not work, then you need to get rid of the infected plant as soon as possible, before it has infected other bushes.
Treat tomatoes for prevention to avoid re-infection. In combination with natural immunity, it will give much greater results.
Growing regions
Recommended planting regions are more temperate regions. Central, North, Ural and others. They are ideal for breeding this variety due to the most favorable and comfortable conditions. A not too hot summer will only benefit. There are less common parasites and other destructive forms of life for plants, and all thanks to the drier air that does not harm the seedlings, the plants will develop more harmoniously and correctly, without unnecessary trials from nature.
