Nepas is a whole series of 14 completely different varieties. And what unites them is that they do not form stepchildren, that is, they are non-sons, hence the name. They differ in numbers and various unspoken second names.
So, the tomato variety Nepas 7 (its second name is giant) was created especially for busy or lazy gardeners, as well as for farmers who grow vegetables for sale. The variety is extremely easy to care for: not only does the bushes do not need to be pinned, but the culture also has excellent immunity, not requiring frequent spraying.
Breeding history
The development of the variety was carried out by a well-known team from the "Sedek" agricultural company, consisting of Lukyanenko, Dubinina and Dubinin. In 2016, an application was submitted, and already in 2018 the variety was allowed for use and included in the state register in the Russian Federation. The culture can grow in a large number of regions of the country.
Description of the variety
The variety is suitable for cultivation both in the open space of the beds and under a film cover. The culture is a standard bush with a determinant type of growth, in height it is limited to 60-80 centimeters. Despite its name, the bush still gives rise to stepchildren, but they are quite moderate. The foliage on the bushes is not very long, dark green in color. In addition, the culture is distinguished by a simple inflorescence, and the stalk has an articulation.
The main qualities of the fruit
Tomatoes Nepas 7 almost always grow large (hence the second name of the variety). The average weight of one tomato is 200-260 grams. But in favorable conditions, tomatoes can be large. Their shape is round, and the skin is smooth. The fruits are colored red.
Taste characteristics
The taste is noted as excellent, sweet and sour, pronounced. Juicy and dense pulp is good to use fresh, as well as including vegetable dishes in the recipe. Often the fruits are used for winter preparations, such as making juice, various sauces, and other products.
Ripening and fruiting
Culture Nepas 7 medium early: fruits will appear in 95-105 days after seed germination.
Yield
The Nepas 7 variety has a fairly high yield. It is calculated at 6.3 kg, which can be removed from one square of a plot sown with vegetables. With enhanced agricultural technology, the number of berries will increase.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
Regardless of where you plan to grow the plants, you need to plant the seeds 2 months before transferring the seedlings to the prepared beds. And this already depends on the region, climatic and weather conditions.
The planted seedlings must dive after the appearance of two or three leaves, and do not forget to feed and water with room water.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
In almost all available sources, there is no information about the planting scheme of this particular variety.Therefore, it can be assumed that since the variety is determinant, the planting density of Nepas 7 tomatoes will not differ in any way from other similar crops.
Growing and caring
The main feature of the Nepas group of varieties is that during the growth process they form an extremely small number of shoots that grow on the sides and do not take food from the main trunk. Therefore, such a bush does not need to be pinned, there is no need to form a stem. But so that it does not break under the load of large fruits, a garter to the support is needed and even obligatory.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
The second main value of the Nepas 7 variety is its strong immunity. The culture is resistant to ailments such as:
- fusarium wilting;
- tobacco mosaic virus (TMV);
- top rot.
In addition, tomatoes do not suffer from cracking of the fruit, and also have quite a long fruiting.
