Tomato Lvovich belongs to hybrid, resistant to viral and bacterial diseases. The ultra-early variety is intended for greenhouse and open field cultivation in more southern regions. Gardeners note the yield of tomato, its reliability, germination, taste, beauty of large pink tomatoes.
Breeding history
The hybrid was bred by breeders Gladkov D.S., Semenov A.N., certified and approved for cultivation in film greenhouses in 2015.
Description of the variety
Tomato Lvovich is an indeterminate, early ripening variety. For full maturation, it needs 60-65 days after planting in the ground. They are grown mainly in greenhouses. In southern regions and warm climates, it bears fruit well outdoors. A tall variety requires the formation of a bush, pinching. It has a strong stem, medium-sized, green leaves, well-developed root system. Fruiting from late June to September, slightly ribbed fruits are highly marketable.
The main qualities of the fruit
Saturated pink flat-rounded tomatoes ripen to a mass of 200-220 grams in shape, are resistant to cracking. They are versatile for cooking, good for cooking, raw. Used for canning in the form of juices, sauces, salads. Smooth skin and dense flesh prevent the tomatoes from cracking, good for pickling and pickling. The peculiarity of the fruits is excellent keeping quality. This allows them to be stored and transported longer.
Taste characteristics
Tomatoes Lvovich have excellent taste: sweet and sour, with a tomato summer aroma, sugar pulp. Such characteristics attribute it to salad varieties.
Ripening and fruiting
With good outdoor care, the tomato bears fruit until September. Growing in a greenhouse can be extended much longer. Fruits ripen evenly throughout the season.
Yield
Tomatoes of the Lvovich variety can be grown up to 13 kilograms per square meter.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
We sow seeds for seedlings in the first ten days of March, in order to plant them in open ground at the beginning of May (approximately 60 days before planting). Sowing dates for the greenhouse are shifted 2 weeks earlier. The tomato is thermophilic, we plant it in warm soil up to + 15 ° С at least. Seedlings of the indeterminate hybrid are erect, tall.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
Tomato Lvovich is planted according to the 50x50 cm scheme in high greenhouses, since the development of the bush can reach up to 2 meters.Such a scheme will fully provide the plants with the required amount of fertilizer and light.
Growing and caring
An ultra-early hybrid bush forms on one or two stems. After the withering of the inflorescences, 4-5 fruits are formed in the brush. A small amount of ovary produces large flat pink tomatoes from June. During development, a tall tomato must necessarily need support and a garter, taking into account the weight of the fruit.
Moderate watering with warm water, 1-2 top dressing per season will give the first harvest in 60-65 days.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
A feature of all hybrids is immunity to tomato diseases. Tomato Lvovich is resistant to bacteria, nightshade viruses, tomato? mosaic (leaves and fruits become discolored or spotted). To a lesser extent, it is affected by cladosporia (brown spots on the leaves, found in greenhouses and open ground).
The only drawback for diseases is that you need to control the manifestations of late blight.
Resistant to adverse weather conditions
Early tomato reacts negatively to temperature changes. In cool weather, it may pause in development. In a greenhouse, this happens extremely rarely, and in open ground it depends on the growing area.
Growing regions
Tomato Lvovich is more adapted to greenhouse conditions. The closed cultivation method allows the use of tomato throughout the territory of Russia, all regions are available for its cultivation. Open ground for cultivation is suitable in southern regions with mild, warm climates.
