Tomato Ground Gribovsky is a very old variety. But it can brilliantly compete with the newest developments of breeders. And that is why the characteristics of such a plant need to be studied as deeply and comprehensively as possible.

Breeding history

The development of the tomato Gruntovoy Gribovsky was carried out at the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing". It was approved for use in 1950. Then the institution was called differently - the Gribovskaya Experimental Vegetable Breeding Station. The culture also has an alternative name - Gruntovy Gribovsky 1180. This plant embodied all the power of the Siberian selection school at an early stage.

Description of the variety

Ground Gribovsky is an excellent determinant variety. It belongs to the universal group. The bushes have a height of only 0.4-0.52 m. Semi-sprawling tomatoes are distinguished by medium leafiness. The green foliage is of medium size, no standard signs were found.

The tomato can grow back after fruiting. As soon as the old shoots give almost all their strength to the fruit, they begin to give out new stems. Obtaining tomatoes from these stems, however, is possible only in limited quantities. In the Urals and to the east, berry picking will have to be carried out in the phase of milk ripeness. But on the other hand, the harvest will ripen well and be separated from the bush, so there will be no problems with this.

The main qualities of the fruit

The newly appeared berries of the Gruntovoy Gribovsky have a simple green color. The area adjacent to the peduncle will be dark green in color. Ripe fruits are traditionally red. The mass of tomatoes ranges from 0.055 to 0.09 kg. The berries can be round or flat-round, but in any case, their ribbing is poorly expressed.

A smooth peel is found on the surface of the fruit. It is quite subtle. The berries grow from simple inflorescences. The first fruitful inflorescence is formed over 6 or 7 leaves. Subsequent inflorescences will develop in 1-2 leaves.

Taste characteristics

The pulp of the Ground Gribovsky is soft. High juiciness is typical for her. The share of dry matter in the fruit is not less than 4.3% and not more than 5.9%. The description of the taste varies greatly from person to person. Both intense sweetness and pronounced sourness are mentioned.

Ripening and fruiting

Ground Gribovsky is a typical early tomato. Between the discovery of the first green shoots and the ability to remove the fruits, it takes from 96 to 112 days. The harvest spans July and August. But in a specific year in a specific area, these dates may be slightly shifted.

Yield

In plantation cultivation, the variety gives from 173 to 420 centners per hectare. Similar proportions are observed in the garden culture. In the shelter, up to 8 kg of berries are removed per 1 sq. m. Outdoors, the yield reaches 6 kg. Therefore, we can conclude that an important role is played by:

  • selection of the optimal site;
  • the correct choice of the moment of disembarkation;
  • special care measures.

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground

In places with a favorable climate, you can sow seeds in containers as early as March. If conditions in the region are slightly worse, then it is better to postpone it until April. The actual weather will tell you the exact dates. Accordingly, transplanting into open ground is carried out in May or even in June. In this case, they are guided primarily by the readiness of the soil and the seedlings themselves.

Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.

Landing scheme

It is recommended to place tomatoes according to the scheme 300x400 mm. There can be 3 or 4 copies per 1 "square". In the first case, it will be easier to provide professional care. In the second variant, a slightly higher fertility can be achieved.

Planting a tomato is a very important and painstaking business. In order to get a good harvest of tomatoes, you need to competently approach the issue of planting. When planting a tomato in the ground, it is necessary to take into account many factors - correctly determine the timing, prepare the soil, correctly calculate the distance between plants, take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Growing and care

Since the tomato is undersized, there is no need for a garter. This advantage applies even to areas with strong winds. It is necessary to form a bush in 1 or 2 stems. The variety is considered resistant to late blight, but additional precautions will definitely not be superfluous. Ground Gribovsky is relatively cold-resistant and can set fruit quite well at low temperatures.

It is impossible to accurately characterize its resistance to extreme heat and drought. But it is unlikely that it will be particularly high, given the specialization of culture. The danger is the cracking of the fruit. The plant can be grown both in the open field and in a greenhouse under a film. But polycarbonate greenhouses are not very suitable for this kind.

Due to the thin peel, with inaccurate watering, it is easy to encounter cracking of the fruit. Watering at the root is carried out 3 times a week - their frequency allows you to compensate for the relative modesty of water volumes. It is extremely useful to apply fertilizers to the soil in advance. The speed of cultivation makes it possible to do without additional fertilizing during the vegetative cycle. The fight against fungal infections is carried out with copper sulfate or Bordeaux liquid.

Watering tomatoes is not difficult. After planting, the plant is watered at such intervals that the soil remains moist. In dry weather, when there is no rain for a long time, watering can be carried out every day, but usually the beds with tomatoes are irrigated 2-3 times a week.
The methods of tying tomato bushes can vary significantly, depending on the availability of available material, the method of fixation, and also the variety. In general, it is recommended to adhere to the following scheme: first, the central stems are grabbed, and then, as the fruits ripen, the lateral branches.
One of the important conditions for tomato agricultural technology is the correct formation of the bush. The formation of tomato bushes means performing the following steps: pinching, pinching, trimming the leaves, normalizing the ovaries.

A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.

It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.

Treatment and prevention of diseases and pests
When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, diseases often occur due to a violation of the temperature regime and excessive humidity. The most common diseases are fungal (late blight, cladosporium, rot).
The fight against diseases and pests of tomatoes in open areas can be quite difficult. This is because nightshades are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and insect pests.
