This is one of the new domestic tomato hybrids. In 2019 it was registered in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation. Like all cherry tomatoes, its decorative qualities are complemented by excellent taste.
Description of the variety
A tall hybrid grows in open ground and greenhouse conditions in Russia, calmly tolerates changes in temperature and humidity. It is presented as indeterminate, but with different cultivation methods it reaches 2 m under cover and only 1 m in the ground. It is advisable to tie up the bushes, they need support.
Cold-resistant, not afraid of cold, damp weather, but does not withstand frost. Loves fertile soil, watering, timely collection of ripe fruits.
The main qualities of the fruit
Cherries grow in dense bunches similar to grapes. They hang the bush from top to bottom. Each cluster contains up to 20 tomatoes weighing 20 g. Fruits of the same size, even, rounded with yellow skin. Ripening, it becomes orange, transparent in appearance. Thin skin does not crack, tomatoes are stored well in a dark, cool place, do not burst when pickled.
Yellow tomatoes have dietary properties, they are richer in vitamins and carotene than red ones, they are characterized by increased sugar content.
Taste characteristics
Tomatoes are fleshy, but juicy, sweet, leaving a fruity aftertaste in the mouth. Salads, snacks are prepared from them, preparations are made, dishes are decorated with them, but they are mainly consumed fresh because of the unique taste of real cherry.
Ripening and fruiting
Tomatoes ripen early, in early July. They are characterized by a long, almost all summer, fruiting. Usually cherry trees are removed until the end of September, until the temperature drops below +10 degrees. Immature grows quickly to light conditions. During growth, new clusters with fruits are constantly formed on the tomato bush. To stimulate their appearance, it is important to remove ripe bunches in time. They are cut whole, because tomatoes on one brush ripen at the same time.
Yield
The number of fruits harvested depends on the growing conditions, compliance with agrotechnical requirements, and timely harvest. In greenhouses, the yield is higher than in the open air, up to 3 kg per plant are harvested, which is considered a high indicator for cherry.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
Tomato seeds are sown in early spring, in mid-March, taking into account the weather conditions of the growing region, favorable days of the lunar calendar. For planting, take plastic containers with holes in the bottom to drain excess water. The land is used garden, harvested in the fall or peat substrate from the store. The seeds are treated with a pink solution of potassium permanganate, a growth stimulant. After planting and watering, the containers are covered with a film, placed near the heating devices. When sprouts appear, the shelter is removed, the seedlings are placed in the light. When 3-4 true leaves are formed, the tomatoes are seated in separate cups at least 0.5 l in size, not forgetting to feed with humate.
When diving, the roots are shortened so that they grow powerful, strong. Now it is important to water and loosen the soil on time, fertilizers are no longer required. For adaptation in the air, plants are taken out onto the balcony, in warm weather, outside. Seedlings by the time of disembarkation in a permanent place in late May-early June should be healthy, with a strong stem, dense dark green foliage, in order to soon please with fruits.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
The garden bed is prepared in advance, if the place is damp, they try to make it higher so that there is no excess water, they make drainage ditches. The earth is dug up, loosened, deep holes are prepared, where the seedlings are placed together with a soil clod, watered and buried. Cherry is placed at a distance of at least 50 cm from each other, 3-4 plants per 1 sq. m. The further the bushes are from each other, the better they grow and bear fruit.
Growing and caring
Tall tomatoes require a support that is placed vertically. Growing lashes are tied to it. The stepsons are removed as they appear. Some inexperienced gardeners cut off from below not only the shoots, but the main leaves, leaving only the stem. In this case, the plant is deprived of nutrition, which negatively affects the development and productivity. Tomatoes love fresh air and greenhouses should be opened regularly for ventilation.
Cherry is often watered with warm, settled water, but in moderation. Top dressing is done with mineral fertilizer, wood ash is added during the formation of ovaries. Do not get carried away with nitrogen supplements: the green mass grows from their excess, and fruiting slows down.
The soil under the bushes is weeded, loosened, mulched with hay, sawdust, compost in order to avoid drying out, to protect the fruits from decay, infection with fungal infections.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
The creators of the hybrid provided for its protection from the main lesions that tomatoes are susceptible to. Weather conditions, adherence to agricultural practices, prevention of viral, non-infectious diseases caused by improper care, the use of contaminated soil, and an excess of nitrogen fertilizers are important.
Vegetable growers often use a trick to avoid diseases affecting tomatoes. They are planted in metal buckets that pests avoid. In galvanized or enameled old containers, they remove the bottom, dig into the ground in the garden.
A bear can damage the roots of tomatoes. When digging the ground, noticing pests, they destroy them. For the fight, a solution of hot red pepper is used in an amount of 10 g per bucket of water, which is poured into the discovered minks. You can simply sprinkle pepper on the soil under the bushes.
To get a high yield, you will have to regularly inspect the plants and begin to fight diseases and pests in a timely manner. To prevent infection, experienced gardeners spray tomatoes with a pink solution of potassium permanganate 2 times a season.
Resistant to adverse weather conditions
The advantage of cherry tomatoes is their cold resistance. According to gardeners, they can withstand frosts up to -3 degrees under a shelter made of agrofibre.
Review overview
Extremely positive. Everyone who planted believes that the considerable cost of seeds and painstaking care for cherry paint fully pays off with a high yield plus an amazing taste of the fruit. They are compared with raspberries, cherries, they are called sweets for their extraordinary sweetness. Once planted, they grow further, regretting that this is a hybrid and that you cannot get your seeds. The range of habitats is extremely wide: the authors of the reviews live in Chelyabinsk, Vladivostok, Rostov-on-Don, Tula. In different climatic conditions, a good harvest of wonderful miniature delicious tomatoes is obtained.
