Many people say that hybrid crops are much easier to care for. They are more productive, and the ripening period is often early. Tomato Royal temptation meets all these characteristics, and that is why many gardeners give it their preference.
Breeding history
Tomato Tsar's temptation belongs to the first generation hybrids. It was withdrawn relatively recently, in 2017. The originator was the agrofirm "Partner", and the author-breeder was O.D Kiramov. The variety is indeterminate, intended for cultivation both in greenhouses and in beds.
The culture grows best in the south and in the Central Black Earth region. In the rest of the country, in order to achieve a large harvest, it is necessary to cover the bushes.
Description of the variety
The bush is medium-sized, with unlimited vigor. The height of the stem is 160-180 cm. If you do not pinch the crop in time, the height of the trunk can reach 200 cm. Usually the top is pinched at the desired height, especially when the plant has formed about 6-8 fruiting branches.
The trunk is powerful, stiff, well developed. For safety, it is necessary to tie the stem to the support, since under its weight the crown will begin to tilt to the ground. And during fruiting, the branches can break off altogether. Any wound on the bush can lead to infection or attack by insect pests that smell the sap.
The leaves are elongated, green. They have small jagged edges, streaks, and hairiness. The inflorescence is simple, it is laid above 7-9 leaves. The next one is every three. On average, 15-20 flower-bearing racemes are formed on the main stem. On one bunch, 7-9 fruits ripen in clusters. The peduncle is articulated.
Some gardeners note that yields and fruiting times can be increased if the greenhouse is heated and special UV lamps are installed. In this case, you can pick vegetables until winter and even longer.
It is stated that the Tsarskoe Temptation variety has a good immunity to fungal diseases. The fruit has a bright and rich taste, and the yield is high.
Among the minuses that summer residents note, there are pinching and shaping a bush. Independent reproduction is impossible, since it is a hybrid, all the seeds in the fruits are empty. The yield depends on the weather and the length of daylight hours.
The main qualities of the fruit
The fruits are cylindrical or pepper-shaped, they have a small oblong spout at the top. The skin is smooth, firm, does not crack. The color of a ripe vegetable is red. The mass of one berry is 120-130 g.
The pulp is tender, fleshy. Inside, 2-3 chambers are formed with a small content of juice. The seeds are small and empty.
The variety is universal, therefore it is suitable for preparing salads and fresh consumption. Due to their oblong shape, tomatoes can be used for pickling and salting. It is noted that the fruits tolerate freezing well and, after thawing, do not lose their shape and do not turn into porridge.
Due to the dense peel, they are stored for a long time (up to 2 months) and perfectly tolerate transportation in boxes, do not wrinkle or crack.
Taste characteristics
Tomato Royal Temptation has a good sweet taste that will appeal to many.
Ripening and fruiting
The type is early ripe. The fruits ripen quickly, in just 100-105 days. Fruiting occurs in several stages from July to September. In regions with a warm climate, fruiting can be carried out several times per season, with proper treatment of the bushes.
Yield
With proper care in greenhouses, up to 5 kg can be removed from one bush, and 24 kg from 1 m2. On an open bed, the yield is 3 kg, and from 1 m2 - 11 kg. But this is provided that at least 3 bushes will be planted per 1 m2.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
Sowing of seeds starts at the beginning of March if the cultivation takes place in cold regions. In the southern regions, the material can be sown directly into the ground.
The soil for seedling boxes is bought in a specialized store or harvested independently. The soil should include soil with fertilizers, peat and sand. It should be soft and loose, and absorb moisture well.
The seeds are sown in small trenches with a depth of 1-2 cm, and the distance between them is 2-3 cm. A new layer of earth is poured on top, and everything is moistened with warm water. A film is stretched over the boxes to maintain the desired temperature, and everything is removed to a dark and warm place. After 7 days, the seeds should hatch, and then the film can be removed.
In caring for seedlings, two points are important, namely:
watering;
monitoring the amount of sunlight.
Transplanting into open ground is done when the seedlings are 50-60 days old.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
For a bountiful harvest, the correct planting of seedlings is important. The density of the bushes should be 3-4 plants per m2, with a planting pattern of 50x50 cm.
Growing and care
For good growth of tomatoes, the following points must be observed.
Watering should be regular and carried out once a week. Drying of the soil and excessive irrigation are not allowed. If the variety grows in the open field, and it often rains, then watering is reduced to once every 2-3 weeks.
After irrigation, the soil is loosened to provide oxygen to the roots, and so that the fertilizing that is applied next does not get stuck in the upper layers of the soil.
Plants are fed regularly, especially during the growing season. Different minerals are mixed, such as ammonium nitrate, superphosphate and potassium chloride. And also magnesium is added every 14 days. During the period of formation and flowering of peduncles, the plant is fed with boric acid.
The soil also needs care. Weeds are removed or everything is laid with mulch with a layer of 3 cm. For this, sawdust, peat or straw are suitable. It should be remembered that the mulch must be changed every 3 weeks and not be flooded with water too much, as the humid environment is very popular with slugs and snails.
In the southern regions, the bush can be molded into 2 stems, in the northern regions - often only one.
Pickling is carried out regularly, especially when one stem is formed. The bush is indeterminate, so it throws out the stepsons almost every two leaves. Removal is performed when the shoot height is 5-7 cm. Gardeners recommend not cutting at the root, but leaving a small stump 2 cm high. The procedure is performed only on warm and sunny days. On cool and rainy days, there is a risk of infection.
The temperature in the greenhouse should not exceed + 30 ° С. The room is ventilated every day.
Preventive spraying is carried out at least twice a season. It is necessary to read the instructions before using the products. The moment is especially important, where it is said how to harvest after spraying.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
Tomato Royal Temptation is resistant to a number of fungal diseases. The plant can tolerate tobacco mosaic, verticillium and fusarium.
But the manufacturer claims that if the variety is improperly grown indoors, the bushes are exposed to top rot, which can be caused by excessive watering and high humidity.
