On the trunk, there are medium-sized leaves, painted in a light green tint, in shape they resemble potato foliage. Both the root and stem are quite powerful. The root system spreads in width, penetrating to the depth of the soil in order to facilitate the extraction of useful elements and moisture.

Tomato Orange banana is distinguished by its special cylindrical elongated shape, reminiscent of the famous fruit, and orange color, which is the reason for the name of the variety. The size is small - from 85 to 92 grams, each fruit weighs on average. Their length reaches from 7 to 9 centimeters. The berries have a thin, glossy, rather dense skin, smooth and pleasant to the touch.

The unusual shape of the vegetable belongs to the universal varieties. It is tasty both when eaten fresh and in salads, and is also convenient for whole-fruit canning, for making juice. Moreover, due to its density, the skin will not crack during heat treatment.

According to the experience of growing this culture, it is better to plant using a checkerboard pattern. It is worth considering that the Orange Banana has a powerful root system, and each plant needs enough space for good development. Therefore, the optimal distance between the bushes will be from half a meter, and the row spacing should be made at 0.6 m.

Experienced gardeners grow this crop in 1-2 stems. For planting tomatoes Orange banana soil should be prepared starting in autumn. Part of the humus is introduced into it, as well as other components to saturate the soil with useful elements. It should be borne in mind that the variety does not tolerate acidic soils, and if the pH level is high, it is necessary to take a number of measures to lower this indicator, enriching the soil with chalk and wood ash.

In the fall, in addition to humus, the culture is fed with fertilizers based on potassium and phosphorus. The favorite compound for almost all tomatoes is potassium nitrate, which contains nitrogen.

Orange banana is quite resistant to late blight, cladosporium and fusarium.
