Tomato Balconnoe Miracle is a versatile variety that is popular because of its high taste, fruit density and relative ease of care, unlike some other varieties of tomatoes.

Breeding history

The balcony miracle is a relatively new look. It was obtained by crossing Russian and German varieties of tomatoes. From the Russian ones, we chose those that have a rich sweet taste with dense fleshy pulp, and from the German ones, they have high resistance to frost and diseases, such as late blight, septoria. And as a result, they bred the Balkonnoe Miracle variety, which can be grown in regions with cool summers. And also it has a high taste and disease resistance.

Description of the variety

This type of tomato has another name - Balkonzauber. It belongs to standard plants. The bush is rather compact and undersized, reaches a height of only 30-40 cm. The plant has a powerful stem, on which grows dark green leaves with a pronounced aroma, and a bright color of the fruit. It belongs to the annual tomato varieties.

The main qualities of the fruit

The bush bears fruit with bright red small tomatoes. They have a round shape and are also slightly ribbed. The mass reaches no more than 30 g each. The flesh of the fruit is very juicy and fleshy, covered with a smooth skin on top.

Taste characteristics

The fruit has a rich sweet taste.

Ripening and fruiting

This variety of tomatoes belongs to the early types in terms of ripening, which are equal to 90 days. A full harvest can be harvested in July and August.

Yield

About 7-8 fruits grow on one hand. This variety has a fairly high yield, about 10-12 kg / m2. The plant brings up to 2 kg per bush.

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground

To obtain high-quality good seedlings at the right time, seeds, previously disinfected, are planted in prepared soil in early or mid-April, depending on the length of daylight hours. In places with short daylight hours, seeds are planted for growing seedlings 2 weeks earlier than standard terms.

And ready-grown seedlings are planted in prepared pots with soil or in open ground in early May, when the age of young plants reaches 35 days.

Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.

Landing scheme

When planting, a distance between plants of about 20 cm is observed. The planting density should be equal to 5-7 plants per m2.

The soil for planting seeds for seedlings is mixed with fertilizers.

Approximate composition: 45% of chernozem is mixed with 50% humus, wood ash (about 150 g), superphosphate (30-40 g), urea (10 g), as well as fertilizers enriched with minerals with potassium (40 g) are added to this mixture ... If the soil was brought from the garden, then it should be calcined in the microwave for about 1 minute.

And the seedlings are already planted in a different soil. It should be well loosened and nutrient-rich. Acidic soil cannot be used for planting. Weakly acidic soil can be mixed in wood ash.

Step-by-step instructions for planting seedlings.

  1. First, young plants are removed from the container in which the seeds were grown. Pour water at a warm temperature and wait until the excess soil leaves with moisture.

  2. Add nutritional supplements.

  3. Seedlings are planted to a depth of no more than 12 cm.

  4. Then sprinkle with a layer of soil, and gently press down.

Planting a tomato is a very important and painstaking business. In order to get a good harvest of tomatoes, you need to competently approach the issue of planting. When planting a tomato in the ground, it is necessary to take into account many factors - correctly determine the timing, prepare the soil, correctly calculate the distance between plants, take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Growing and care

This variety is specially bred for growing on loggias and balconies. Suitable for planting both in open ground and for planting in greenhouses. It does not require such additional maintenance as tying and trimming.

But a number of conditions must be observed when growing this type of tomato on a balcony or windowsill.

  • Growing it in a pot or in a box doesn't really matter. A pot is chosen about 10 liters in volume and no more than 35 cm in height, so that the plant does not give all its strength to the growth of foliage. And the box is chosen in height the same size as a pot, and in width and length 30 cm by 40 cm. The material from which the container for planting is made can be plastic or wood.

  • Since the tomato is a light-loving plant, it should be under the rays of the sun or a fluorescent lamp for 6 to 8 hours a day.

  • The temperature is maintained in the first stages of about +20 degrees, and later, when growing seedlings, up to +25 degrees Celsius.

  • The optimum air humidity is 40-70%.

Important! Plants are watered only with water at a temperature of + 18 ... 25 degrees. Before watering, a special thermometer is lowered into the water.

Watering tomatoes is not difficult. After planting, the plant is watered at such intervals that the soil remains moist. In dry weather, when it does not rain for a long time, watering can be carried out every day, but usually the beds with tomatoes are irrigated 2-3 times a week.
The methods of tying tomato bushes can vary significantly, depending on the availability of available material, the method of fixation, and also the variety. In general, it is recommended to adhere to the following scheme: first, the central stems are grabbed, and then, as the fruits ripen, the lateral branches.
One of the important conditions for tomato agricultural technology is the correct formation of the bush. The formation of tomato bushes means performing the following steps: pinching, pinching, trimming the leaves, normalizing the ovaries.

A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.

It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.

Disease and pest resistance

Quite resistant to diseases. When it was bred, they specially sought high rates for this characteristic.

Treatment and prevention of diseases and pests
When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, diseases often occur due to a violation of the temperature regime and excessive humidity. The most common diseases are fungal (late blight, cladosporium, rot).
The fight against diseases and pests of tomatoes in open areas can be quite difficult. This is because nightshades are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and insect pests.

Resistant to adverse weather conditions

Resistant to frost and cold climates. It tolerates cool summers well. Suitable for growing in the middle lane.

Growing regions

The Balcony Miracle tomatoes have a fairly large coverage of the area where they can be grown. It takes root well and bears fruit both in the northern and northwestern and central regions of our country. And also in the North Caucasus, Middle Volga and Lower Volga regions. In the Far East, in the West Siberian and East Siberian regions.

The balcony miracle is used for consumption both fresh and in the form of various blanks, as an ingredient for hot and cold dishes.
