The breeding work does not stop for a single day, and the developers are introducing new varieties of plants. One of them is a tomato Azoyushka. Farmers will only benefit if they become better acquainted with this promising crop.
Breeding history
The Azoyushka variety is indeed the newest - a permit for use was issued only in 2021. Its development was carried out by the breeder Blokin-Mechtalin V.I.It should be noted that there is an alternative version. According to her, the culture was created by V.P. Kruglova in the mid-1980s. Then she was forgotten for a while.
Description of the variety
The plant has synonyms - Azochka, Golden Barago, and Azoychka. This tomato belongs to the indeterminate category. It has a versatile agricultural purpose. The variety is suitable both for open ground and for growing in simple greenhouses under a film.
The main qualities of the fruit
Large Azoyushki berries have a rich yellow color. Fruit weight varies from 150 to 300 g. The decisive role, apparently, here is played by the perfection of agricultural technology and a proper natural environment. Outwardly, the Azoyushka tomato is close to flat roundness. There are 2 or 3 tomatoes per brush.
Taste characteristics
According to reviews, this variety has a balanced taste. It has been described as a typical tomato sensation. Therefore, nothing extraordinary can be expected. The pulp of the fruit is fleshy. And also note its excellent juiciness.
Ripening and fruiting
The variety belongs to the early group. It is necessary to wait for the appearance of the crop from 100 to 105 days. The first inflorescence will form above the 7th leaf. The next ones will appear every 2 sheets.
Yield
Fertility varies greatly depending on the cultivation conditions:
in the open field, you can get 15-17 kg of tomatoes per 1 sq. m;
in closed plantings, the crop grows to 18-20 kg;
1 bush can contain up to 4 kg of berries (according to other sources, even up to 8-12 kg).
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
It is necessary to start seedlings in early spring. Planting is done in moist soil inside containers. The depth of planting seeds is 1 cm, the gap between them is about 2 cm. The transplanting of the mature shoots into the open ground is carried out only after a firm, confident end of frost. But we must also remember about the dive of seedlings in peat pots at the phase of 2 true leaves.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
There is nothing unusual here. Breeders say that it is necessary to plant 3 or 4 Azoyushki bushes per 1 sq. m. In the process of formation, 1 or 2 stems are left. In domestic conditions, it is recommended to limit yourself to 3 plants per 1 sq. m. This allows you to take care of the culture more diligently.
Growing and care
It is necessary to irrigate Azoyushka with warm water strictly at the root. They are guided by the state of the bush and the earth itself. In between waterings, systematic loosening and weeding is recommended. Mineral and organic supplements are added several times during the growing season. It will be preferable to dissolve them in irrigation water to reduce the risk of root burns.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
Azoyushka resists infection with verticillium and fusarium well. Even at low air temperatures, the risk of infection is low. However, prevention of late blight infection must be carried out without fail. It is better if it follows an integrated scheme. The specific pests of this variety have not yet been described, and it is necessary to protect it from the same insects that encroach on other tomatoes.
