The most popular are determinant hybrid varieties of F1 tomatoes - ultra-early and early (popularly called ground). If the first such varieties were distinguished by rather small fruits, now gardeners are getting quite weighty tomatoes. The fruits of the universal Azhura are consumed fresh, they are used in salads, excellent juices, pastes, and sauces are prepared from them. The hybrid is grown in greenhouses and in the open field, and tomatoes have time to ripen in the garden even in the conditions of South-Eastern Siberia, the Urals and Primorye.
Breeding history
The authorship of the appearance of Azhur belongs to the domestic breeders of the "Sedek" agrofirm A. N. Lukyanenko. S. V. Dubinin, I. A. Dubinina. The hybrid was approved for use in 2007.
Description of the variety
The Azhur hybrid is included in the standard category, has a genetic growth restriction. One bush ties from five brushes, each of which forms four to six beautiful tomatoes. The hybrid has quite significant advantages over many varietal tomatoes, but, unfortunately, it is not without its disadvantages.
Advantages | disadvantages |
Fruits are not prone to cracking, have an attractive appearance, tolerate transportation well | Support organization required |
Tomato has strong immunity to most common diseases. | Azhur belongs to the second generation of hybridization - its seeds do not retain their parental qualities. |
Excellent adaptability to ambient climatic conditions | |
Openwork has high yield rates |
The bush grows to an average of 80 cm, the inflorescences are simple, the flowers are yellow, the stalk is articulated.
The main qualities of the fruit
The flat-round fruits of Azhura are colored at first in light green tones, acquiring a carmine-raspberry color during technical maturity, reaching an impressive weight of 240-250 g, and under ideal agrotechnical conditions they grow up to 400 g. Tomatoes have a dense glossy skin, so the harvest easily tolerates a long-term transportation.
Taste characteristics
Juicy pulp of Azhura has a dense structure and sweet, with barely noticeable sourness, taste, as well as a characteristic aroma, balanced content of organic acids, vitamins and sugars.
Ripening and fruiting
Openwork refers to early ripening tomatoes - they ripen in 105-110 days. Harvesting time July-August depending on growing conditions.
Yield
The hybrid has a high yield, 10-12 kg and up to 600 kg / ha are harvested from each bush.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
The timing of sowing seeds for seedlings falls on March-April, and planting of seedlings in a permanent place is carried out in May, if these are greenhouses, and in mid-June in open ground. There are usually no recurrent frosts after June 10.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
The ideal distance between the bushes is considered to be 0.6x0.4 m.
Growing and care
Growing hybrids, especially the second generation, is quite simple. All of them are distinguished by good health and endurance, they have time to give the crop with minimal physical and material costs. The only prerequisite for all regions, except for the southern ones, is growing by seedlings, but this applies to tomatoes of any type. Landing in the ground is carried out no earlier than the earth warms up to a temperature of + 15 ... 17 degrees, and the threat of return degrees passes. This varies the time frame, making them dependent on the area of cultivation.
According to many gardeners, fruits grown outdoors are tastier than greenhouse fruits, although the latter ripen two weeks earlier. The ideal conditions for planting seedlings are cool, cloudy weather and the afternoon, which allows plants to adapt to new conditions faster and easier. When the seedling has a closed root system, then it practically does not feel the transplant, if measures for hardening were previously taken. The soil should be loose, breathable, before planting it is enriched with organic matter, mineral complex fertilizers. The holes are dug standard, to the depth of a bayonet, with the simultaneous installation of stakes for support. After planting, the soil is tamped, well spilled with water at room temperature.
Culture care consists in:
in timely watering;
weeding;
loosening;
tying up;
pinching;
formation;
dressing and preventive treatments.
Mulching the root zone will help avoid the tedious process of loosening and retain moisture for longer. In this case, one must remember about the basic rule - regular watering is necessary during the period of flowering and pouring of fruits. After the crop begins to actively ripen, watering is completely stopped, not counting drought. Overflow during this period threatens to crack.
The first top dressing is applied no earlier than 3-4 weeks later, provided that the soil preparation was carried out in accordance with agrotechnical requirements. The plant needs to build up its vegetative mass, so it needs nitrogen fertilizers. The next feeding is carried out after the formation of ovaries, introducing phosphorus-potassium compounds into the soil. For the autumn digging, organic matter is introduced.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Disease and pest resistance
Openwork has good health, and successfully resists many diseases that tomatoes are susceptible to. The hybrid is characterized by high resistance to such troubles as:
late blight;
verticillosis;
cladosporiosis;
cracking;
top rot;
fungal diseases;
viral tobacco mosaic (TMV).
However, even with such indicators, it is not worth risking plantings, especially if these are farms - preventive treatments with fungicides are necessary.
Resistant to adverse weather conditions
Openwork perfectly tolerates daily temperature drops, dry periods, hot weather.
Growing regions
The hybrid was originally adapted to the central strip and southern regions. Breeding achievements have led to the fact that it can be grown practically throughout the entire territory of our country: Northern, North-Western, Central, Volga-Vyatka regions, Central Black Earth Region, as well as the North Caucasian, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, West Siberian, East Siberian and Far Eastern.
