A variety of tomatoes with a beautiful name Anna German was bred in Russia. Its author is the breeder Igor Maslov. The variety is interesting in that it has an original oval shape with a nose, similar to a lemon in its color. And on the brush, up to 30 beautiful fruits may appear, which will decorate the garden around the house.
Description of the variety
The original carpal tomato cultivar Anna German is an indeterminate variety. The culture bears fruit until frost, tall bushes reach 200-220 cm in height. The yellow oval fruits can retain their flavor and appearance even after harvest. The bush of the variety in question is sprawling, and if you do not cut off the excess, it forms many shoots. Therefore, competent pinching is necessary, as well as care. During the season, 6 additional brushes are formed.
The main qualities of the fruit
Tomatoes Anna German are small in size, each fruit reaches a weight of 60 to 65 grams. As already mentioned, their color is yellow, so they become at the stage of full maturity. Oval shape, with a spout. The skin is thin.
Taste characteristics
Tomatoes have an excellent taste, some call it gourmet. It is sweet, but slightly sour. The fruit has a fleshy flesh. Anna German tomatoes can be used both for making salads and for preparations for the winter, they are ideal for whole-fruit preservation, you can also make juices from them. Delicious in any form.
Ripening and fruiting
The culture belongs to the early. Tomatoes ripen within 105-110 days after the first shoots appear.
Yield
As for such a factor as yield, it will depend on many nuances. And in this, the conditions for the growth of culture play an important role: agricultural technology, care, climate, as well as the quality of the seed. Basically, the Anna German variety is classified as high-yielding. Of course, in a greenhouse, the yield will be higher than in open ground, but on average, it is possible to collect from 15 to 18 kilograms of beautiful fruits per square meter.
The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground
Like many other varieties of tomatoes, Anna German tomatoes are planted using the seedling method. In the southern regions, this can be done in open ground, and in the middle lane, greenhouses are used. Sowing is carried out in the first half of March. Before planting, seedling seeds should be disinfected with a solution of potassium permanganate and must be dried. The treated seeds are sown in either peat pots or plastic cups filled with moistened soil. After this procedure, the seedlings should be covered with foil.
During the growth process, fluorescent lamps should be used to supplement the illumination of plants. 2 weeks after planting, hardening of future seedlings can be carried out. They should be taken outside for a very short period, while the amount of time spent outdoors every day should be increased. After 60-65 days, the seedlings are planted in the ground.
Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.
Landing scheme
Tomato variety Anna German is rarely sick, but if the bushes thicken, this can cause a fungal disease. Therefore, when planting in the ground, the planting pattern is maintained with a distance between bushes and rows of 50x60 cm.Thus, one square meter is able to shelter up to 4 plants, no more. Under these conditions, the crop will ripen faster.
Growing and caring
Given the tallness of the Anna German variety, it can be noted that the culture really needs reliable protection from drafts and wind. In this case, the plants grown in the greenhouse must be ventilated. The growing season of an indeterminate culture is distinguished by the fact that the variety is moderately watered and fertilized, thereby not contributing to excessive growth of green mass. Watering tomatoes is necessary only after the top layer of soil or mulch has completely dried. For 1 bush, you need about 0.5-1 liter. When the fruits reach a diameter of 3 centimeters, the rate of irrigation liquid is increased to two liters.
The Anna German variety is also demanding for warmth and light. With a bush height of 150 centimeters, a trunk garter is required.
A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.
It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.
Growing regions
Tomato variety Anna German feels great in the southern regions, as it is thermophilic and photophilous. As for the central zone of Russia, here the culture is successfully grown in greenhouses.
