Many cultivated plants are attacked by aphids. This insect feeds on the juices of foliage, shoots and fruits. It is very prolific, therefore, even in a short time, a small group turns into a large colony. Aphids slow down the growth of plants, reduce fruiting, because of it, crops wither, it carries pathogens. Red pepper will help protect plantings from pests.

How does it work?

Bitter pepper scares away harmful insects with its aroma. It has a pungent taste and contains a large amount of alkaloids. Ground hot peppers are used to fight aphids because of their deterrent qualities. Small insects leave crops, exuding a burning aroma. Pepper alkaloids are toxic, affecting the nervous system.

A solution of pepper, getting on the body of aphids, leads to the fact that it is deprived of the opportunity to feed. As a result, the insect dies. The burning taste prevents eating plants, drawing out juices.

Not only red, but also black pepper is used against aphids, but it is not so effective, since it is less pungent.
