Most modern TVs have an LCD screen. Smudges, streaks and other contaminants begin to appear on the LCD monitor very quickly. Due to the high sensitivity of its can not be wiped with any available means, otherwise it can be irrevocably ruined. It is recommended to use gentle and at the same time simple techniques.

What kind of fabric can I use?

The surface of the LCD monitor is made of a thin material that can be easily damaged even with slight mechanical stress. The following types of fabrics can be used to remove dirt from the LCD monitor:

  • wet wipes specially designed for wiping this type of monitor (this does not include baby wipes or cosmetic wipes);
  • slightly dried out ordinary wet wipes;
  • antistatic agents, which are often sold in kits (there are both wipes and a product);
  • soft, lint-free fabrics;
  • napkins made of a material called microfiber - they absorb moisture well, while not being able to harm the delicate surface;
  • kits for the care of LCD monitors (contains everything you need: aerosol, microfiber cloth, antistatic brush).

If you decide to wipe the monitor with a damp soft cloth, then be sure to wipe off excess moisture from the screen with a cloth.

Selection of funds

A napkin dipped in plain water can only get rid of the dust that has settled on the monitor. To remove more difficult dirt, it is recommended to use special substances. Here can be applied like chemical compositions sold in the store, and improvised means.

Professional

LCD monitor cleaning products are sold in various forms. It can be:

  • pneumatic cleaner;
  • spray;
  • foam spray;
  • napkins soaked in special compounds and alcohol.

    The most popular and effective products for this purpose are presented below.

    1. Colorway 3333 - looks like a can with a tube. There is air under pressure inside, which, when the valve is pressed, breaks out. It can be used to blow off dust from the screen, as well as remove it from hard-to-reach places of household appliances.
    2. Patron F3-029 - this is a special foam, with which in a few minutes you can get rid of the screen from traces of dust and dirt, as well as remove fingerprints.
    3. Colorway 1032 - this spray is intended not so much to clean the screen as to prevent dirt. The fact is that when the product is applied to the screen, a special antistatic coating is created, which prevents dust from settling. But in the same way, dust can be removed with this spray. You just need to apply it to the monitor in a small amount, and then wipe it with a napkin or soft cloth.
    4. Data Flash 1620 - an effective spray that can easily and quickly remove all kinds of dirt from the LCD.
    5. Patron F4-001 - these are napkins made of crepe paper, impregnated with a special composition (without alcohol and fragrances). You can quickly clear the screen without streaking. After the procedure, the surface will dry on its own in a few seconds.
    6. Colorway 1071 - universal cleaning wipes that can rid the LCD monitor of dust, grease stains, and can also fight minor abrasions.
    7. Colorway 6108 - microfiber napkins with silicone content.Due to the unique composition, they provide accurate and thorough cleaning of the surface.

    All of the above products are harmless to health and effective. They are rather economically consumed. Even with regular use, they will last for several months.

    Folk

    If for some reason it is not possible to buy chemical products for cleaning LCD monitors, you can use improvised compositions... Their main advantage is their low cost. And the disadvantage is that if you do not follow a clear recipe for cooking, you can be left without result, and in more difficult cases, even ruin the monitor.

    At home, it is best to use products such as vinegar, soapy water, and isopropyl alcohol. The recipes for the preparation of the compositions are as follows.

    • To prepare such a home remedy, you will need table vinegar with a concentration of 3%... It must be diluted 1: 1 with water. For example, you can take a glass of vinegar and a glass of water (depending on how much is required). Both liquids must be mixed well, after which, in the resulting composition, moisten a soft microfiber cloth, squeeze well and wipe the TV screen. This must be done carefully, without much effort. Then you should wipe the screen dry with exactly the same soft cloth. The tool perfectly copes with dust, stains, and also removes fingerprints.
    • If there are greasy spots on the surface of the monitor, then it is best to deal with them soap solution... We recommend using laundry soap and distilled water. To prepare this product, you need to dissolve a small piece of soap in a small amount of warm water. To speed up the process of dissolving the soap, you can first grate it. The solution should not be applied to the entire screen, but only to contaminated areas. When the greasy marks are washed off, wipe the entire screen with a damp cloth or soft cloth.

    An important point is not to add too much soap. Such a solution will not add efficiency, but it will take a long time to wash off soap stains.

    • Isopropyl alcohol Is an effective remedy that is often used for antibacterial treatment of wounds. You can buy it at any pharmacy at an insignificant price. If there are greasy traces on the TV screen, as well as dried dirt, it is recommended to use isopropyl alcohol. It must be diluted with water in a 1: 1 ratio, and then moisten a cloth in it and wipe the screen. The remains of the product can be removed with a damp cloth, and at the end of the procedure, wipe the screen dry.

    Be careful when using any of the above as it can damage the screen.

    Care of different screens

    To figure out which tool is best to use, you need to focus on the type of screen. Depending on this, you need to act as follows.

    1. For LED panels better to buy a whole set. It contains everything you need: a soft cloth and a cleaning compound that does not even contain a small amount of alcohol. After using such a set, a special coating remains on the screen, which repels dust. If it is impossible to buy such a set, then it is recommended to use a lint-free napkin and any gentle composition.
    2. Lcd monitor must be treated with a napkin dipped in a special disinfectant. It is better to process the joints with a cotton swab (without much pressure).
    3. For plasma screens it is perfectly acceptable to use soapy water, especially if the TV is in the kitchen and a lot of grease settles on it. Microfiber napkins, a soft, lint-free cloth are well suited for processing. For hard-to-reach areas, you can use a vacuum cleaner with a special attachment and all the same cotton swabs.
    4. LCD TVs Are very fragile devices that can be easily damaged. That is why it is recommended to wipe them with an exceptionally dry cloth. It is strictly forbidden to allow any substances, including water, to enter the LCD screen.

    It should be remembered that the TV must be unplugged during cleaning. Before the procedure, it is better to remove rings, bracelets and watches from your hands - they can accidentally scratch the surface.

    What shouldn't be done?

      The liquid crystal monitor provides high-quality and realistic images. In order not to permanently spoil this effect, it is recommended to take proper care of the LCD monitor. To clean the surface, use only approved materials and agents. It is strictly forbidden to do the following.

      1. Clean the screen while the TV is on. It must be turned off before cleaning. Otherwise, you can spoil the fragile matrix.
      2. After wiping the screen, let it dry well for a few minutes. Instant activation can also be harmful, since crystals are very sensitive to moisture.
      3. When exposed to alcohol, the matrix elements turn white and fail. That is why it is strictly forbidden to disinfect with alcohol.
      4. Wipe the screen with regular wet wipes. They are good at picking up dust, but they are completely unsuitable for handling LCD monitors. Firstly, they can be harmful, and secondly, they will definitely leave streaks that will be clearly visible on the dark surface of the screen.
      5. For cleaning, use products that are usually used for treating other surfaces. It can be car cosmetics, window and dishwashing detergents. All of this does not belong to the category of delicate cleaning agents with which LCD screens can be treated.
      6. Wipe the screen with a newspaper. This is fraught with scratches, since even soft paper tends to leave them. In addition, newsprint fibers can peel off and get inside the screen. This, too, will certainly lead to breakage.
      7. Spray water and other liquids from a spray bottle onto the screen. It is highly undesirable to do this, as splashes (even small ones) can enter the interior of the TV. This can lead not only to a short circuit, but also to breakdowns of a different nature.
      8. Trying to scrub dry dirt on the TV screen with baking soda. This is prohibited because baking soda, like any other abrasive substance, can scratch delicate surfaces. Even slight baking soda will create scratches that will permanently ruin the LCD screen.
      9. Scrape off dirt with nails or an object. In this case, there is definitely a risk of damage to the screen. Deep scratches will interfere with viewing every time.
      10. Wipe the screen with lint-free cloths, and also use materials such as silk, wool, synthetics.

      You should also refrain from wiping the screen with toilet paper, rough materials, a cloth dampened with alcohol, nail polish remover, or other similar substances.

      The most important thing to consider when processing an LCD screen is its high sensitivity. This must be borne in mind and in the process, use only soft cloths, as well as gentle cleaning agents.

      It is not recommended to allow the screen to be heavily soiled, as it is extremely difficult to clean old stains. To keep the surface clean longer it is recommended not to put pots with indoor plants next to the TV... The fact is that when watering, droplets can fall on the screen, and after self-drying, leave visible traces.

      Also, do not touch the screen with your hands, as fingerprints are difficult to wipe off. Better position the TV so that children cannot reach it - for example, fix it on the wall using a special bracket.In addition, insects can stain the surface of the screen, so it is better not to allow them to appear on equipment. If you follow simple rules, the TV will always be clean and will last for more than one year.
