LED lamps (LED) with a rechargeable battery are stand-alone devices that do not need to be connected to a 220 V electrical network for operation. Such devices are widely used in cases where it is impossible or not justified to install conventional lighting elements. Thanks to their rich design solutions, LED devices can become a bright and useful piece of furniture.

Peculiarities

According to their design features, LED luminaires are divided into rechargeable (DC) and combined (AC), which can operate both from the mains and from the battery. The removable battery is located in the body of the lighting device and, if necessary, can be easily replaced by yourself. In addition to batteries, some modern LED models are equipped with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a service life of about 3 years.

Also, rechargeable lamps are easy to install, their installation is within the power of a person who has no experience with electricity and complex technical devices.

Advantages and disadvantages

Diode lighting devices for the home have significant advantages over classic lamps:

  1. Environmental Safety. Diodes do not contain harmful impurities and mercury, such as, for example, fluorescent lamps, which means they do not harm humans and nature.
  2. Energy efficiency. LEDs consume very little power, so the battery will last for a long time.
  3. Illumination parameters. LED lamps are very bright, have various variations of design and technical characteristics, so everyone can choose the appropriate level of light.
  4. Durability. Diodes last up to one hundred thousand hours, which is significantly ahead of other lamps, including energy-saving ones.
  5. Compactness. Luminaires with rechargeable batteries have no wires. This makes it possible to use them in any premises without preliminary chasing the walls and laying an electric cable.
  6. Rich choice. LED lamps are varied in their design, size and purpose, so choosing a suitable LED device for the interior is not difficult.
  7. Unpretentiousness. The operating temperature of the LED lamp is from +600 C to - 600 C.

Despite the advantages, these lighting elements have one drawback - the need to change the battery. However, when you consider that diodes consume ultra-low amounts of energy, the battery lasts for a long time. In addition, even taking into account the periodic replacement of the battery, it will be cheaper to use an LED luminaire than a conventional one, powered by a network.

Application area

Rechargeable LED luminaires are modern, safe lighting devices. They are used:

  • for decoration of the facade of a building, garden and other outdoor objects;
  • for street lighting;
  • to illuminate garden paths (such lamps are often equipped with solar panels);
  • indoors for various purposes;
  • as Christmas tree decorations;
  • as elements of emergency lighting.

LED lights are often installed in children's rooms. They are used as table lamps or bedside lamps.

Views

In the specialist shop you can find a wide variety of different LED lamps.

Among them are the following models:

  • portable;
  • stationary;
  • interior.

They are distinguished not only by the field of application, but also by design and technical features:

  • Portable luminaires are often supplemented with a charger that matches the car's cigarette lighter. Such devices are universal, you can take them with you on the road, on vacation. Some models are enclosed in a waterproof case, which allows you to use the device in the rain or in rooms with high humidity.
  • Stationary luminaires are most often represented by devices that are used in emergency situations when the power is turned off. These devices are capable of working for 3-4 hours, effectively illuminating the room. All modern multi-storey residential buildings and industrial premises should be equipped with special emergency warning signs that indicate the exit from the building. There are also devices for back-up lighting and illumination of hazardous areas. Some models are equipped with a motion sensor.
  • Interior LED devices can be both wall-mounted and tabletop models. Suitable for daily use, as well as in situations of power outages. Various in design, used in corridors, children's rooms, living rooms. Some models come with a remote control that allows you to turn on and off the lamp and adjust the brightness of the lighting.

There are models of luminaires equipped with a light sensor that independently adjust the brightness of the diodes depending on the conditions.

How to choose a LED lamp?

When buying a rechargeable lighting device, you should adhere to the following rules:

  1. Take into account the required dimensions. The dimensions of diode lamps vary greatly, so you should buy them, taking into account the necessary parameters.
  2. Determine the required power. Depending on the purpose, the brightness of the LED device can range from 1300 to 2300 lumens.
  3. Consider the required scattering angle and type of LEDs, depending on the purpose. So, different lighting elements are used for wall and table lamps.
  4. The level of moisture resistance must be at least IP5. This is the parameter that high-quality and durable devices have.

Also, some rechargeable lamps have several operating modes and several color modes, which allows you to diversify the interior inside or outside the room. Pay attention to the type and capacity of the battery.

If you plan to use the device constantly, you should give preference to models with a built-in lithium-ion battery. Such devices will last longer than battery-powered ones.

Operating rules

In order for a rechargeable LED lamp to serve for a long time, the following rules must be observed:

  • regularly clean the lighting unit with a soft dry cloth;
  • do not place the lamp near flammable objects;
  • do not use if the case or battery is damaged.
  • do not make changes to the design of the device;
  • operate the device under the recommended conditions, taking into account the load level and the moisture resistance parameter.

Despite the safety of LED lighting elements, care should be taken when using them by children. Small batteries can be swallowed and the lithium-ion battery can explode if the shell is damaged and cause a fire.

Requirements

LED lamps are safe and they are widely used not only in residential premises, but also on the streets, in medical and educational institutions. LED lighting devices do not have a harmful effect on the human body if they meet the following requirements:

  1. The conventional protective angle must be at least 90 degrees in order to limit the glare on the eyes.
  2. Overall brightness - no more than 5000 cd / m2. To comply with this parameter, diffusers are used in the luminaires.
  3. The permissible unevenness of brightness should be 5 Lmax to 1 Lmin. It can be measured with a special device.
  4. The color temperature of white LEDs should not exceed 40,000 K. This parameter determines the color tone of the lamp.
  5. The power should not exceed 0.3 W.

In high-quality LED luminaires manufactured in accordance with GOST, all of the above parameters are indicated on the packaging or in the accompanying documents.

By choosing a rechargeable LED lighting fixture, you can save a lot on your energy bills. LED is a modern and safe alternative to mercury energy saving lamps.
