Lighting is of great importance in creating a cozy and comfortable environment in any room. Therefore, special attention is paid to the selection of lighting devices. Among the most popular and demanded sources of artificial light are Italian floor lamps, which combine centuries-old traditions with modern innovative technologies.

Peculiarities

Italian floor lamps are an elegant and functional combination of tradition and innovation. The Italians began to use the first floor lamps for interior decoration back in the 17th century and managed to turn their manufacture into a real art. It is not surprising that today Italy remains one of the most famous countries producing high-end lighting fixtures on a high stand.

Characteristic features of any Italian floor lamp:

  • Consistently high build quality and all materials used.
  • The originality of the design solution, thought out to the smallest detail.
  • Maximum functionality and practicality.
  • Durability.
  • Profitability.

All this becomes possible through the use of traditional techniques in combination with the achievements of modern science.

Italian floor lamps have a number of advantages over other types of lighting fixtures:

  • They do not require additional assembly and assembly work.
  • They can be easily rearranged from place to place.
  • They have functional integrity, without requiring additional stands, bedside tables. On the contrary, there are floor lamp models equipped with their own table elements.
  • With their help, it is easy to zoning a room. The visual limiter of the zone is the stand (leg) of the floor lamp.

Thanks to these qualities, such devices also serve as an original piece of furniture, its self-sufficient decorative decoration.

Range

Floor lamps made in Italy are, as a rule, floor lamps with a lampshade, striking in their beauty, grace and variety.

The latter can be made from:

  • fabrics;
  • wood;
  • metal;
  • plastic;
  • blown glass.

However, in addition to classic models, you can find table specimens and lamps from Italian manufacturers without a lampshade. The height of the tripods varies from 1 to 2 meters. They themselves are made of wood, plastic and forged metal.

Often, designers and craftsmen use several materials at once, combining what seems incongruous.

Devices of Italian brands differ by the type of lighting:

  • diffused light;
  • reflected light;
  • directional light.

Most modern models are additionally equipped with a floor lamp height regulator, and expensive models also have a rheostat that allows you to adjust the light intensity.

But the most popular floor lamps from Italy are classic specimens on a tripod and with a mini-table.

Rules for choosing an original lamp

It is quite difficult to understand all the variety of floor lamps presented on the shelves of stores. It is even more difficult, at times, to identify a really high-quality Italian product, to distinguish it from numerous fakes.

In order not to be deceived and not to buy a fake, experts advise paying attention to the following points:

  • Price. Original fixtures from Italy cannot be cheap.
  • Materials. The bronze fittings of the Italian device contain 65% copper.In cheaper fakes - the percentage of copper is much lower. The crystal pendants of the original floor lamps are made of high quality material from the Austrian Scholer factory. The counterfeit ones use cheaper types of crystal or even plain glass. The glass of the shades of the original product is quite easy to distinguish from a cheap fake - it is quite thin. At the same time, from the inside, the shade has a smooth structure, and from the outside it is slightly rough or embossed.
  • Build quality. The manufacturer of fakes does not pay much attention to subtleties, therefore, there are often inconsistencies and other flaws in the transitions between parts and elements of the product. This is especially noticeable in the place where the horn is attached to the body.
  • Marking. It must be indicated on the packaging, labels and the products themselves that the products are made in Italy.
  • The documents. The passports of the original Italian floor lamps are printed in several European languages. At the same time, they do not have a translation into Russian. But fakes, most often, are completed with passports exclusively in Russian.
  • Lamps. All products of Italian masters are necessarily equipped with high quality lamps. Counterfeits can be sold with cheap bulbs or without them at all.
  • "Insides". All internal equipment of the original consists of elements of European origin and is marked with the country of origin. The equipment for switching on and adjusting, in turn, is mounted on a special board (as opposed to a fake, in which the attachment is made directly to the case).
  • Availability of certificates. All products from Italy have international and European certification. When buying, the seller must necessarily show all the relevant certificates, which indicate the manufacturer's logo, article number, contact details and full address.

In addition, the purchase of a floor lamp in branded or large stores of lighting equipment, as well as viewing catalogs, can protect the buyer from counterfeiting.

If the selected model is in the catalog and can be identified, then this is definitely the original.
