A modern tumble dryer will save space in the apartment, spend less time drying clothes and significantly reduce the level of humidity in the room, which will have a beneficial effect on your health. Therefore, it is worth finding out the main features of Candy dryers, familiarizing yourself with their varieties and considering the differences between the most popular models.

Features of Candy Dryers

The Italian company Candy, founded in 1946 in the city of Monza, is well known primarily for the elegant design and high quality of its products, as well as for the widespread introduction of modern technologies such as Wi-Fi control in household appliances.

The main differences between Italian machines for drying clothes and clothes from analogues:

  • environmental friendliness of the materials used;
  • energy efficiency;
  • stylish appearance;
  • ergonomic and simple control using modern digital technologies;
  • compactness in comparison with German and Chinese models with similar characteristics;
  • a large number of operating modes;
  • delicate care of things;
  • the presence of the EasyCase system - a tray for collecting the condensate formed during operation, which, unlike analogs, is located right in the drum door. Thanks to this, the user can always see the filling level of the container and can drain the liquid in time.

The high quality of the products of the Italian concern is confirmed by the Woolmark trademark. It is awarded by the International Wool Secretariat, and its presence on household appliances means that products made from high-quality natural wool will not be damaged after they are dried.

Rulers

Currently, all Candy dryers are divided into 3 lines.

  • Slim Smart - this series, first presented in 2018, includes narrow models (up to 48 cm deep) based on a condenser with a heat pump, equipped with a smartphone control function using the Candy simply-Fi application. It is possible to install this technique on any Candy washing machine up to 44 cm deep using the proprietary mounting kit. Moreover, if this washing machine is also equipped with an NFC interface and is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the dryer, then both devices can communicate with each other and coordinate the washing and drying modes (this function is called SmartMatch).
  • GrandO Vita - the characteristics of this technique are in many respects similar to the models from the Slim Smart series, and the main difference is a slightly modified design (for example, instead of a chrome door, a white plastic version is used), which is made in the spirit of the Candy line of washing and washer dryers of the same name. The series consists of a single model - GVS4 H7A1TCEX-07.
  • Other - in this category are cars, the production of which began before the release of the previous two lines. Like the previous series, these machines work on the condensation principle, but unlike newer models, they are not equipped with a heat pump, which reduces their energy efficiency.

Model overview

Currently, the official representation of the company in the Russian Federation offers customers only 4 models, related to new lines.

  • CS4 H7A1DE-07 - a representative of the new Slim Smart line with a heat pump, loading volume up to 7 kg, energy class A +, 85 cm high, 48 cm deep and 60 cm wide. The drum is made of stainless steel.There are 15 (+1) work programs, including special modes for towels, mixed fabrics, synthetics, denim and wool, as well as the “freshen up” and “smooth out creases” functions. The control system consists of a display and a mode switch.
  • GVS4 H7A1TCEX-07 - belongs to the GrandO Vita series, all the main characteristics (including a set of programs) are similar to the previous model, the main differences are a different design and a shallower depth (45 cm).
  • CS C9LG-07 - belongs to the older line and with dimensions of 85 × 60 × 59 cm can hold up to 9 kg of things. Due to the absence of a heat pump, it has an energy efficiency class B. The set of programs is similar to the previous two models. An NFC chip is installed to control from a smartphone and exchange information with other household appliances of this brand. Not equipped with display - LED indication is used instead.
  • CS C10DBGX-07 –– a representative of the earlier Smart line, it is distinguished by its large dimensions (85 × 60 × 59 cm) and a larger maximum load (up to 10 kg when drying cotton and up to 4 kg when working with synthetics). It is not equipped with a heat pump and therefore belongs to energy efficiency class B. There are 4 modes for drying cotton, 3 modes for synthetics and 1 for the care of woolen products. A digital display is installed.

Older models can still be found in the company's dealer stores and online stores, among which the following are the most popular.

  • GVS4 H7A1TCEX-S - a variant of the GVS4 H7A1TCEX-07 model with a chrome door and a smaller drum capacity (80 l instead of 99 l). However, the maximum load of this model is still 7 kg.
  • CS C8DG-S - analogue of the CS C10DBGX-07 model with a capacity of 8 kg.
  • CS C7LF-S - one of the earliest models with an opaque door. There are 15 drying programs. Depth - 59 cm, loading - up to 7 kg. There is no heat pump.

How to choose?

The main criterion that must be taken into account when choosing is the drum capacity, or rather, its maximum load. For maximum comfort, this setting should match the drum capacity of your washing machine. If the dryer load is less, then after each wash you will have to perform two drying cycles.

Purchasing a dryer with a capacity larger than the capacity of a washing machine is usually not economically viable - such devices are more expensive and usually have to work at a partial load.

The next important parameter is the dimensions of the device, especially the depth. If it is supposed to be installed in a column on a washing machine, it is important that the equipment is compatible. Otherwise, the dimensions must be chosen for a pre-prepared installation site.

Another important characteristic is the energy class. The higher it is, the less electricity the equipment will consume in one working cycle. In this regard, the advantage is on the side of units with a heat pump - although they are more expensive, they will quickly pay off due to lower light bills.

It is also worth paying attention to the additional functions. Preference should be given to models with the largest number of drying programs and convenient options like EasyCase and Woolmark. If you already own a Candy NFC washing machine, it is worth purchasing a dryer that supports SmartMatch technology.

How to use?

The device can only be connected directly to a grounded outlet, never through a splitter and / or extension cord. The ventilation opening must not be obstructed by a wall, furniture or other household appliances.

The most important rule of thumb when using a drying technique is to monitor the drum loading. Unlike washing machines, which in most cases are able to handle almost anything that fits in their drum, dryers require free space to operate efficiently. That's why no need to try to load more things into the device than its passport maximum load.

It should also be borne in mind that usually in the data sheet, the maximum weight is indicated for dry things, therefore, in fact, no more than 2/3 of its nominal load should be loaded into the machine.

Before drying, linen and clothes must be carefully sorted into fabrics and the appropriate mode selected for them. Be especially careful with nylon, cambric and tulle items, as well as new items that can shrink if not properly dried after the first wash. Do not use the "very dry" function unless absolutely necessary - it is intended mainly for heavy fabrics and multi-layered items, therefore it can ruin cotton and linen clothes.

Please note that small, hard objects that come off the garment during the drying process can tear the rest of the garment and even damage the drum. That's why before drying, you need to fasten all buttons, fasteners and buttons, and, if possible, remove the "bones" from the bras (or, conversely, sew them on).

Do not start a new drying cycle after the end of the previous one - let the device cool down for half an hour.

Remember to remove condensation from the container after each cycle. The fluff filters should be periodically cleaned according to the recommendations of the operating instructions. You can clean the filters by hand, using a vacuum cleaner or rinsing with warm water. It is also worth cleaning the heat exchanger every 6 months - usually it is enough to rinse it with water and dry it.
