Products are stationary and transformable. The first category includes models that do not provide for unfolding. They are installed in the right place, using fasteners or without them (depending on the specific product). The second line is more creative and includes varieties with varying degrees of complexity of designs. They can be similar to a chest of drawers with a folding or pull-out system, in which the folded table looks like a cube with internal compartments.

Other models can have additional folding tabletop elements, thanks to which the table area is increased. Depending on the design idea, the shape is different, which is standard (round, square, oval, semicircular) or unusual (curly, in the form of an elongated oval). The design is also associated with the installation method, which can be classic (placement on the floor) or suspended (fixing the table to the wall).

Floor-mounted options may have casters. This is inherent in models of the attached type, which are intended for constant movement. Rotating wheels provide gentle handling of the floor covering, protect it from scratches and abrasions. On the other hand, casters are not always convenient, especially if the table is on carpeted floors.

A side table is a functional item that, depending on the specific model and case, can:

• to increase the working space for a convenient location of the necessary documentation, folders, office equipment;
• modify the desk to accommodate two or more users;
• used as a table for treating guests or households in front of a TV screen;
• provide a comfortable rest by placing a laptop, tablet or other items on the tabletop for watching movies or other media resources, sitting in an armchair or on a sofa.

The side table can be used as an organizer if you need to position a sewing machine or other accessories for needlework. Some models are designed specifically for the back of the sofa: the table is attached directly to it, often with textile pockets to accommodate small things. If you like a model with a glass surface, it is preferable to buy a product with frosted glass: it is less visible with fingerprints and scratches.
