"Spin" icon on the washing machine: designation, use of the function
Modern sellers of household appliances offer a wide variety of models of washing machines. They all differ from each other in price, design, manufacturer, country of assembly, presence or absence of certain functions.
But no matter what model of the automatic washing machine the buyer chooses, each of them has a spin function. This function is very important during the washing process and is marked on the dashboard with a button with a special icon.
What does it look like?
World renowned manufacturers of automatic washing machines such as Bosch, Indesit, Ariston, Samsung, LG in all their models they depict the spin symbol in the form of a swirling spiral. The number of curls on such an icon may differ slightly depending on the manufacturer.
And also in different models, this button may differ in shape, and can be either round or oval. The function of the color indicator of the spin button is also not present in all models... If there is an indicator, then it can be located both above the button, and below, and to the side of it. The indicator color is traditionally yellow, orange or blue.
But whatever the shape of the button with the "Spin" sign, in all models of "washing machines" it is located on the dashboard.
Classes and technology
The spinning technology used in any automatic clipper is that when spinning, its drum spins up at very high speeds. As a result, the wet laundry in it is pressed against the walls of the drum. And excess water drains through special holes and is pumped out using a pump.
Depending on how hard the machine is pressing the laundry, all units are divided into 4 classes and are designated by Latin letters A, B, C, D. Information about the spin class is necessarily indicated in the instruction manual, which is included in each set of equipment. In order to find out to which class a particular model of a car belongs, at the stage of testing the technique, the necessary research is carried out.
The essence of such tests is that laundry of the same fabric composition is put into the drum and the washing process is started. The laundry is weighed before and after washing. The smaller the difference between these indicators, the higher the spinning class of the automatic machine:
- to first class or class A include devices where the moisture content of the laundry after spinning is below 45%;
- to second grade or class B include machines where the moisture content of the wrung out laundry does not reach 55%;
- to third grade or class C it is customary to refer to those units in which, after spinning, the laundry remained damp by no more than 64%;
- to fourth grade or class D detecting machines where the moisture content of the laundry exceeds 65%.
Of course, each customer, when choosing such a necessary household appliance as an automatic washing machine, wants to purchase a model with a higher energy saving class and spin class. However, before making a choice in favor of a particular model, you should know that the higher the spin class, the stronger the laundry in this process is pressed against the walls of the drum. And this can cause abrasion of the fabric and the formation of deep creases, especially if the machine is planning to wash delicate types of fabrics.
If the selected model has a high spin class, you should pay attention to the presence of the function of reducing the speed during spinning.
And also when choosing it is worth paying attention to such a function as cancellation of spinning. This mode will be necessary if the garment label has a sign prohibiting drum drying.
If, during the spin mode, high revolutions are present in a particular model, this increases the vibration of the device. This fact should be taken into account when choosing built-in appliances. The higher the revolutions, the greater the vibration, the greater the distance from the washing machine to the furniture body should be. This will prevent the household appliance from hitting the cabinet walls or countertops.
Correct use of the mode
In most models, this or that number of drum revolutions during spinning is already included in the wash program and depends on the type of fabric. The denser and heavier the fabric, the more force the machine will need to wring it, the more revolutions the drum will make.
Conversely, when the "Delicates" or "Delicates" mode is selected, the number of revolutions included in the program will be reduced to a minimum.
In newer models of machines with a smart menu, the user can choose the spin intensity in the already selected washing program... The number of revolutions of the drum during spinning in smart mode can be either increased or decreased compared to what the program suggests. To do this, you must follow a specific algorithm.
- Connect the device to the mains.
- Press the power button of the machine.
- Load the laundry into the drum.
- Select the required washing program. In this case, the color indicator or the corresponding number on the display will indicate the number of revolutions programmed for this mode.
- To change this indicator, you need to press the button on which the spiral is drawn until the required number of drum revolutions during spinning is displayed on the screen.
- Then you need to press the "Start" or "Start" button
Thus, the machine will wash the laundry in the mode programmed by the manufacturer, and wring it out with the force selected by the user.
When choosing a particular spin intensity, you need to pay attention to some features, which will help to determine the value of drum revolutions and avoid malfunctions in the operation of equipment.
- The less laundry is loaded into the drum, the lower the spin intensity.
- It is not recommended to wash and wring out items one at a time., as high drum revolutions and low weight of laundry can loosen the fasteners holding the drum and lead to its breakage.
- Sometimes the weight of 1 or 2 items is not enough for the system to spin the drum... In this case, an error with the corresponding code will appear on the display. An explanation of common error codes is given in the instructions for the household appliance.
- Do not wash together items of different sizes, as small ones will clog into large ones and form large lumps. Because of this, during spinning, the laundry cannot be evenly distributed over the drum, which will also lead to an error.
So, the seemingly simplest spin function can have many hidden features. To avoid malfunctions in the operation of equipment, as well as to prevent the occurrence of breakdowns associated with the final stage of washing, you must follow the simple rules for using the "Spin" mode.
The "Spin" mode is clearly demonstrated in action below.
