Washing machines 50 cm wide: an overview of models and selection rules
Washing machines with a width of 50 cm occupy a significant market segment. After reviewing the models and familiarizing yourself with the selection rules, you can purchase a very decent device. Attention must be paid to the distinction between front-loading models and models with lid loading.
Advantages and disadvantages
The 50 cm wide washing machine can be installed in almost any room. You can always set aside a toilet or storage room for her. Or even just put it in a closet - such options are also being considered. The consumption of water and electricity is significantly reduced compared to the "large" models. However, in general, there will be more negative sides for narrow washing equipment.
Do not put more than 4 kg of laundry inside (in any case, this is exactly the figure that many experts call). There can be no question of washing a blanket or down jacket. The compact product is physically placed under the sink without any problems - but the water supply can only be organized using a special siphon. And it is unlikely that it will be possible to save money by purchasing a small-sized unit.
The cost of such machines is much higher than that of full-size products, even despite the deteriorated characteristics.
What are they?
Of course, almost all equipment of this kind belongs to the automaton class. There is no particular sense in equipping it with activator units, mechanical control. But the way of laying the linen may differ for different designs. The vast majority of the models on the market are front-loading. And the high authority of such a scheme among users is not at all accidental.
The door is located exactly in the center of the front panel and tilts 180 degrees when opened. When the washing mode is turned on, the door is blocked by an electronic lock. Therefore, accidentally opening it while the device is operating is completely impossible. To prevent this, even a number of additional sensors and protection systems are used.
The special design of the hatch helps to track the work of the front-facing typewriter - with strong transparent glass, which does not fog up during washing.
The functionality of this technique is also quite diverse. Many specific washing modes can be used with it. Therefore, even the most difficult task is unlikely to confuse the owners. But not everyone likes horizontal loading models. Vertical bedding also has a number of fans, and for good reason.
With upright machines, you won't have to bend or sit down when it's time to put in or take out your laundry. It will be possible to report laundry directly during washing, which is unattainable with horizontal execution. The upper door is no longer closed with a magnetic, but with a traditional mechanical lock. The difficulty is that you will not be able to control the washing process.
A completely opaque panel is placed on top.
The control of vertical washing machines is most often placed on this panel. But in some cases, the designers preferred to put these elements on the side edge. The drive for vertical machines is generally more reliable and longer than that of their horizontal counterparts. Bearings are also more reliable. The problems are as follows:
in older models, the drum has to be scrolled manually;
the load of linen is relatively small;
there is almost always no drying function;
the overall feature selection is relatively modest.
Dimensions (edit)
Washing machines 50 by 60 centimeters (60 cm deep) are perfect for a small room. But it should be borne in mind that they do not fall into the category of narrow ones - these are just compact products. According to the gradation adopted by professionals, only those with a width of no more than 40 cm can be called narrow washing machines. In this case, the depth of the standard model can be up to 40-45 cm. For small-sized built-in structures, the length is usually 50x50 cm (500 mm by 500 mm).
Review of the best models
Eurosoba 1100 Sprint
A programmer is used to control this washing machine. It also allows you to influence the water temperature, and not just the number of revolutions and the duration of the program. The spinning speed of the drum varies from 500 to 1100 revolutions per minute. Spinning at the minimum speed is recommended for silk and other delicate fabrics. The liquid crystal display is quite informative and allows you to have a good idea of what the machine is doing at a particular moment in time.
Also deserves approval:
total protection against leaks;
the ability to postpone the launch;
option for soaking laundry;
pre-wash mode;
delicate washing mode.
Electrolux EWC 1350
This washing machine has a front loading hatch. It can hold up to 3 kg of linen inside. It is squeezed out at a speed of up to 1350 rpm. The dimensions are compact enough to be used under the kitchen sink. If necessary, the spin speed is reduced to 700 or even 400 rpm.
An active balancing option is provided. There is also an accelerated wash that will delight those in need of time saving. The drum is made of stainless steel, and the water tank is made of selected carbon. The outer casing is made of electroplated steel.
The progress of the program is indicated by special indicators.
Zanussi FCS 1020 C
This Italian product is also loaded in the frontal plane and has a 3 kg dry weight capacity. The centrifuge can spin the drum up to 1000 rpm. During the wash, no more than 39 liters of water are consumed. The design is simple, but at the same time practical - there is nothing superfluous here. Other features worth noting:
a special panel for embedding into kitchen appliances;
the ability to turn off the rinse mode;
economic wash program;
15 basic programs;
sound volume during washing no more than 53 dB;
spinning volume maximum 74 dB.
Eurosoba 600
This washing machine can hold up to 3.55 kg of laundry. The maximum spin speed will be 600 rpm. But for modern technology, this is a pretty decent figure. The housing is 100% protected against water leakage. The tank is made of selected stainless steel. There are 12 programs for processing the laundry stored through the front door. The device weighs 36 kg. During washing, it will consume up to 50 liters of water maximum.
On average, 0.2 kW of current is consumed for washing a kilogram of linen.
Eurosoba 1000
This model stands a little apart from other products from Eurosoba. It provides a hidden automatic weighing option. There is a mode of economical consumption of washing powder - and according to this program, it will require no more than 2 tablespoons. The declared service life of the drum and tank is at least 15 years. Dimensions - 0.68x0.68x0.46 m. Other characteristics:
spin category B;
spin at a speed of up to 1000 rpm;
the moisture remaining after the extraction is from 45 to 55%;
spark protection;
partial protection against leaks;
total power 2.2 kW;
length of the mains cable 1.5 m;
7 main and 5 additional programs;
control of a purely mechanical type;
current consumption for 1 cycle 0.17 kW.
Features of choice
Washing machines with a width of 50 cm must be chosen very carefully, first you need to find out if the model fits into a particular room. Pay attention to the dimensions in all three axes. For front-end machines, the radius of the door opening is taken into account.For vertical ones - restrictions on the height of the installation of cabinets and shelves.
A narrow front-facing machine that opens into the aisle is not a good purchase. It is much better to use vertical technique in such cases. It is also worth considering whether it is necessary to build it into the same kitchen set, or it is more correct to use a freestanding machine. As for the permissible load, it is selected individually.
Both the number of family members and the frequency of washing are taken into account.
Narrow washing machines cannot have any significant capacity. But still there is a significant difference between individual models in this parameter. Chasing a large number of revolutions is hardly worth it, because a really good spin is achieved even at 800 drum turns per minute. Faster rotation only helps to save a little time. But it turns into increased wear on the motor, the drum itself and the bearings.
The choice of a 50 cm wide washing machine should be based on personal aesthetic tastes. It is unlikely that someone will like to observe for years a thing, the colors of which are emotionally annoying. Be sure to pay attention to the total water consumption. To save energy, it is worth choosing products with an inverter motor.
The type of drum surface is also important - in a number of improved models it does not wear out the fabric additionally.
