The Indesit washing machine does not spin: why and how to fix it?

Spinning in the Indesit washing machine can fail at the most unexpected moment, while the unit continues to draw and drain water, rinse out the washing powder, wash and rinse. But whenever the program reaches spinning, the equipment immediately freezes.

In some cases, the lack of spin says about rather serious technical problems of the Indesit CMA, which require professional diagnostics and repair. We are talking about those cases when the machine has ceased to wring out the laundry due to the failure of one of the most important elements of the unit - as a rule, in such situations the error indicator is on.

Such breakdowns include a number of defects.

• Malfunction of the device that records the number of revolutions of the drum - tachometer. This is one of the most common technical failures. The broken sensor transmits incorrect data to the control unit or does not contact it at all.
• The second reason may be associated with a malfunction of the CMA electric motor. In order to diagnose its breakdown, it is necessary to disassemble the machine, pull out the motor, carefully unscrew and inspect the collector brushes and coils. In most cases, the reason for the malfunction of Indesit machines is the deterioration of the electrical networks - this leads to the fact that the motor slows down and the spin becomes weak.
• Another probable cause of breakdown - failure of the pressure switch, that is, the sensor that monitors the water level in the drum. If the control unit of the machine does not receive information about whether there is water in the tank, then it does not start the spin cycle.

• A common cause is associated with a malfunctioning water heating element. So, the excessive appearance of scale on the heating element or its burnout often becomes a signal for the control unit about the need to stop spinning.
• And finally, the technical reason - breakage of the direct electronic control system of the machine.

In some cases, the linen does not just remain unspun in a small volume of water, but as it floats in it. This happens when the CMA does not drain the water from the tank. There may be several reasons for this:

• clogged pipe, drain hose or drain filter;
• the drain pump is out of order.

Any housewife will be upset if her favorite “assistant” for washing stops spinning. Doing it manually, especially when it comes to oversized things and bedding, is laborious and physically difficult. Nevertheless, in some cases, the reasons for refusing to spin are related precisely to user errors.

So, if you open the door and find wet laundry, then look at which wash mode you have set. It is possible that you initially switched on a program that does not involve spinning the laundry. For example:

• sensitive;
• careful;
• delicate;
• wool;
• silk;
• washing of delicate linen and some others.

Most often, such a nuisance takes place in old-style cars, where there is no display and the hostess can simply "miss" by choosing an abbreviated one instead of a full cycle.

If you are absolutely sure that you have set exactly the mode of operation of the CMA that you need - see if the "spin" option has been forcibly disabled. The fact is that individual series of Indesit CMAs are equipped with a push-button with a spring mechanism. This means that when the button is released, the spin is fully operational. But if you accidentally forgot to turn on this button, then the blocking of the option will operate not only during the current wash, but also in all subsequent ones - until this button is deactivated again.

No less common is a malfunction when spinning is not performed. due to an excessively overloaded tank. This problem occurs very often, therefore we draw attention to the fact that the tank must be fully loaded, but by no means overwhelmed... Dirty linen should be put in it evenly, but not lumpy - in this case, difficulties with the imbalance of the drum will not arise.

If CMA Indesit does not wring out, then, most likely, one of its modules needs repair or complete replacement. However, what exactly is the malfunction - it is not so easy to determine, you will have to check all the "suspects" one by one until the culprit of the breakdown makes itself felt. And first of all, you need to inspect the drive belt.

It may seem that there is no connection here, nevertheless it is there - when the belt does not provide a stable transmission of motor revolutions to the drum pulley, this leads to the fact that the drum cannot accelerate to the desired speed... This will cause the program to freeze and completely stop spinning the laundry.

In order to check the performance of the belt, it is necessary to subject the SMA to a partial analysis, namely: disconnect it from the electric current network and other utilities and move it to a place where it will be possible to freely approach it from all sides. After that, carefully remove the rear wall - this will open access to the drive belt. You just have to check its tension - it should be pretty strong. If this part is clearly weakened and sagged, and traces of wear are noticeable on its surface, then such a belt must be replaced with a new one.

You can do this yourself - you need to hook onto the drum pulley with one hand, and the other for the belt itself and turn the pulley - the belt will come off almost immediately. After that, you need to take a new one, pull one edge over the large pulley, the other on the small one and carefully turn the pulley, this time in order to stretch the element.

If the belt is in order, then you can proceed to checking the tachometer. To do this, you will have to follow these steps:

• first, remove the drive belt so that it does not interfere with work;
• unscrew the large bolts supporting the motor;
• to check the operation of the tachometer, it must be removed and using a multimeter to measure the resistance of the contacts.

And finally it is necessary to make sure that the engine is in good condition. First, unscrew all the bolts that secure the carbon brushes and carefully pull them out. If you notice that the plates are shorter than they were originally, then they are worn to the limit and must be replaced with new ones.

Be sure to make sure that the engine winding is not punctured by current. Of course, this rarely happens, but it is not worth completely eliminating such a malfunction - with a punctured winding, the motor will work badly or will not work at all. The only solution in such a situation would be to replace the motor with a working one, since repairing the winding is quite expensive. The check is carried out using a multimeter, while one spike is attached to the winding core, and the second is fixed to the case. All veins are subject to verification, otherwise there will be little sense from such monitoring.

If you suspect a failure of the electronic board, then it is better to immediately call a professional master. Such a breakdown needs specialized repair, otherwise any amateur activity can permanently disable the unit.

In conclusion, we note that if the machine does not squeeze out the laundry, do not panic - most often the error is the result of a violation of the rules for operating the equipment. In order for it to fully perform the spin function, before starting the wash, you should:

• make sure that the selected washing mode is correct;
• do not put more things in the tank than provided by the manufacturer;
