Washing machine error codes: description, causes and elimination

The description of the error codes of washing machines is very useful to know for any person using this technique. Using such information, it is easy to find the real causes of certain failures. The Hansa washing machine issues code E01, if the wires are broken or their connections are broken in the area from the controller to the door lock. The problem may, however, be associated with the limit switch. One way or another, it is worth checking to see if the door is still open. Error E22 is issued if the washing machine drive spins without a special command. This is usually due to a short circuit on the triac, which is an integral part of the controller.

But one of the most serious mistakes is still E52. It is issued in case of failures in the non-volatile memory of the machine. Specialists in such cases, conducting deep diagnostics, are faced with either the destruction of the necessary data, or with damage to the microcircuit. Depending on the scale of the breakdown, either the microcircuit or the entire microcontroller is changed. Error E14 indicates a malfunction of the electronic controller.

The root cause of this problem is often a power surge. This interrupts the normal wash and displays a signal. Then it is necessary:

• check the power supply;
• if everything is in order, restart the device;
• if this does not help to eliminate the defect, replace the damaged unit.

For Candy washing machines, the electronic controller shows code E09 for a failure. In this case, the drive shaft does not rotate. The situation is different in Kaiser washing machines, in which the electronics of the same company are installed (and not Indesit or Ariston). There the breakdown of the electronic controller is indicated by the E11 code.

Technique Indesit and Ariston sometimes give a signal F18. He testifies about microcontroller malfunction... Alas, it is impossible to fix it, all that remains is to replace it. As for Electrolux and Zanussi devices with EWM2000 automation, they usually talk about a problem with electronics code E51. Have to check both the controller responsible for the operation of the motor and the triac.

Error E53 may indicate a controller failure, and about a malfunction of the engine and electrical circuits that connect them. E54 signals the failure of the relay or its control circuits, leading to the same control device. E84, E85 are associated with a breakdown of the triac that coordinates the operation of the circulation pump... When errors occur E93, E94 necessary reconfigure the controller.

Fortunately, electronics failures are not common. But there are other problems with washing. So, in Indesit and Ariston systems, the code F04 and the backup F10 are provided for signaling a failure of the filling sensor. Electrolux and Zanussi have common drum filling problems. code E11. Signal E13 says that the pallet is starting to fill. Error E21 - Tfull-time analogue of E06 according to LG. It is also worth considering such conditional signals as:

• E23 - the drain pump triac is out of order;
• E24 - the electrical circuit of this triac is damaged or malfunctioning;
• E33 - water level sensors are not working properly;
• E35 - there is too much liquid in the drum;
• E37 - the first level pressure switch does not work or does not work correctly;
• E39 - Overflow indicator failure.

Excessive filling of the washing machine with water, which happened once, does not pose any danger. It is sufficient to simply reboot the device and control failure should be ruled out. But if after a few minutes of waiting in the off mode the next time the problem resumes, there is already a failure in the system.

Before talking about other problems with washing machines, it is necessary to explain how to reset, that is, reboot. In many cases, this simple manipulation solves the problem and avoids unnecessary repairs. Restarting the program in a number of models is done with the Reset button. If it is not there, press the button designed to start washing. The sequence is as follows:

• hold down the button for 3 to 5 seconds;
• wait for the end of the wash (sometimes the automation is designed first to completely drain the water);
• choose a different mode;
• add powder or other detergent if necessary;
• press the start button.

In the Ariston and Indesit washing machine models, attention is drawn to itself failure F03... He says that the temperature sensor is broken. Owners of Asko washing equipment should pay attention to such violations as:

• E05 and E06 - the machine cannot heat water efficiently enough;
• Floaming - excess foaming;
• Termistor fault - it is not possible to measure the water temperature normally.

Samsung developers have provided the following additional messages:

• E4 - linen overload;
• E8 - unable to maintain the temperature regime;
• DE or DOOR - loose or full opening of the drum door (errors can also indicate a malfunction of the lock or electronic controller).

At LG, you need to pay attention to such error indications as:

• UE - drum unbalanced;
• LE - the locking mechanism does not work correctly;
• CE - the machine drive is overloaded;
• E3 - load meter does not work;
• AE - auto shutdown violated;
• HE - heating element inoperability.

Kaiser users often encounter with error E08. It is issued if the voltage in the mains supply does not correspond to the design standards. When the hatch lock is violated, it is displayed message E11. And here is the termination of the wash, accompanied by signal E21, indicates a serious drive failure. Concerning errors E22, then it occurs when the motor rotates unauthorized without a command.

At signal E31 you need to troubleshoot the temperature sensor. This error is often preceded by a short circuit. E32 indicates that the circuit between the heat sensor and the electronics is broken. Perhaps the contacts just moved away. Code E42 appears on the screen when the door has been locked for 2 minutes after the end of the wash.

F4 says that there are no signals from the tachogenerator. Then 3 test runs of the motor are carried out, during which the problem is usually eliminated by itself. If this does not happen, the tachogenerator will have to be repaired or changed.

F8 in Gorenje systems is associated with insufficient drum rotation during spinning. You can see an error if it is 100 revolutions or more inferior to the speed specified in the program. In this case, you have to deal with:

• driven;
• electronic controller;
• poor belt tension;
• failure of the inverter.

Electrolux and Zanussi machines may still have such failures:

• E41 (depressurization - most often the door is open);
• E43 - failure in the triac of the door lock;
• E53 - failure of the engine electrical circuit;
• E61 - weak heating of water;
• E62 - water warming up too fast;
• E95 - damage to the processor or built-in memory;
• E96 - controller error;
• E97 - Software malfunction.
