And a situation may arise when, during the washing process, the washing machine suddenly stops working, and a combination of letters lights up on the screen. The main thing here is not to panic! Modern electronics performs self-diagnostics and informs the owner about the malfunction using a special code. In this article, we will take a look at the bE (6E) error on a Samsung washing machine: what it means, what causes it, and how you can fix the problem.

You may come across several options for encoding the error in question: Samsung devices with a two-character display give an error code like 6E (bE, Eb, E6), equipped with a three-character - bE1, b2 (bE2, bC2), bE3, on units that do not have a display, with this error, the temperature indicators (upper and both lower) and all wash modes light up. In addition, old designations are still sometimes found: 12E, 14E and 18E.

Also, this may include the inability to start the motor correctly due to a malfunction of the triac for turning on the rotation of the motor. This information applies both to the entire group and specifically to codes 6E, bE, Eb, E6.

Three-digit codes are more informative and allow you to unambiguously interpret the error:

• bE1, 12E - a problem with the power button;
• bE2, bC2, b2, 14E - a problem with the control button (except for the one that is responsible for turning on the power);
• bE3, 18E - problem with the control module.

Immediately, we note that an error with code 6E often indicates a slightly different problem, namely, a failure of the water heater. The Eb designation is found on devices manufactured before 2007, in which case it means a malfunction of the engine.

So, having figured out the possible options for decoding the error code of the bE type, let's consider what causes this error to appear.

In this case, the buttons do not work when you press them, or they may remain uncompressed ("sticky"). It happens that plastic deforms over time. Also, one of the possible reasons is the excessively tightened screws that press the front panel to the case.

The processor, track, element on the control board is burnt out, or they have poor contact. In this case the washing machine may not respond to pressing the power button, turn on the modes arbitrarily, and also spin the engine, and then stop and show an error.

If the unit does not turn on, and then after a couple of minutes it gives an error, this may be due to problems in the motor relay. It can burn out, break off its leg, or oxidize the contact.

Another reason for this breakdown can be oxidation or broken wires between the engine, control module, and buttons. The machine can stop and show an error both immediately after switching on and at any time after that.

Most often caused by a short circuit in the motor triac. The reason for this, in turn, may even be electrical outlet malfunction. A sign of a breakdown is the start of the drum during spinning immediately after turning on or filling with water, followed by a stop, or the machine hangs up during spinning.

Also, the triac may not work properly due to a breakdown of the tachogenerator sensor.... The machine will interrupt the program after smoothly spinning the drum.

The problem is caused by breakage or burnout of a tubular electric heater (heating element), its temperature sensor, contact and wiringproviding power and control.

The first thing to do in the event of a malfunction in which the bE error appears is to try to restart the washer. Turn it off and wait at least a minute, or even better, fifteen minutes.

Check if any of the buttons are stuck or stuck. Press it a couple of times to return to its normal position. Unplug the device from the mains and wipe the buttons with a slightly damp cloth. In the event of a damaged or broken button, you may need to replace it and possibly adjust the front panel.

If the error cannot be corrected in this way, you will have to check the machine wiring for a break with a multimeter. Damaged tracks and contacts can be carefully cleaned, tinned and soldered. Burnt out fuses, diodes, relays are replaced with new ones, but if the problem is in the processor, then a new control module is required.

If the control triac is short-circuited, it will need to be replaced, possibly together with the entire connecting circuit. In the event of a problem with the tachogenerator, the Hall sensor must be replaced.

You can check the electrical resistance of the heating element. To do this, you will have to disconnect it after disassembling the machine. The resistance rating at the heater terminals is indicated in the instructions - usually it is from 20 to 60 ohms. If the values ​​are much less, the heating element will have to be replaced. Do not forget to also ring for a short circuit between the heater and the body of the machine.
