How to open the Indesit washing machine?

The washing machine of the Indesit trademark is one of the first models of automatic machines that has become widespread. Like any technique, it has some of its drawbacks, but at the same time it fully corresponds to its purpose. Everyone who has such a miracle technique knows how it works. It consists of several stages: adding laundry, adding detergents, choosing a washing mode, starting the process.

After that, the door of the machine is locked and water intake begins. During the normal washing process, the unit will perform the set mode and unlock the door on its own. but there are times when for some reason it is not possible to open the car. Why it happens?

If the washing process is successfully completed, the water has been pumped out, the spin has been performed, and the car door cannot be opened even after 15 minutes, the reason for this may be:

• failure of the program responsible for automatic blocking at the beginning and unblocking of the system at the end of the session - it may occur due to sudden changes in electrical voltage in the network or due to wear of some equipment components;
• breakdown of the mechanism responsible for blocking the hatch;
• arbitrary activation of the child protection mode.

It is also possible that the machine has stopped without completing the wash cycle, while the door is locked and there is water inside. The Indesit washing unit is programmed in such a way that if there is a certain amount of liquid inside it, it will not be possible to open the door. This may be facilitated by the following reasons:

• lack of electricity in the network - if there is a sudden power outage in the machine control system, the program code may fail;
• failure of the pump;
• the drain hose is clogged;
• obstruction of sewer pipes.

So, there is a problem - the door of the washing machine is locked. How do I disable the lock? The most logical and correct option is to contact the service department or call the master at home. But it happens that the service center is in another city, and the master is overloaded with work and cannot come in any way. You will have to figure it out on your own - however, there is nothing difficult here.

If the machine does not open after washing, while all the water is pumped out and there are no incomprehensible lights on the display, then you just need to wait for a while until the system reboots itself. But this does not always happen. A forced reboot may be required. To do this, disconnect the machine from the power supply for 1 hour. This time will be enough to restart the system and reset the data.

When there is no time for such a long wait, you can try to reactivate the wash or spin program. However, if the reason for blocking is a faulty door mechanism, then this method will not help. A non-opening hatch may indicate a displacement of the axis that fixes the lock. To fix the problem, you will have to unscrew the fasteners, remove the hatch and return the axle to the groove.

If you accidentally start the child lock mode, you cannot simply open the door. To remove the block, you must simultaneously press the same buttons as during its activation.

If water remains in the drum and the machine is stopped, the first thing to do is to get rid of the liquid. Then there will be more chances to open the locked door. This can be done in several ways:

• reactivate the rinse, drain or spin mode;
• check if the drain hose is clogged, and if passability is difficult, remove the blockage and restart the drain function;
• manually dispose of the water.

In the event that the hydraulic pump fails during washing, it will no longer be possible to automatically pump out water from the tank. You will have to drain it through the hose and the drain valve on the filter located at the bottom of the machine. In this case, be sure to disconnect it from the network.

After there is no water left in the washing machine, you can use the methods for opening the hatch described above.

There are times when you need to open your Indesit washing machine urgently. This means that all the previous options were not effective or the door handle simply broke. Therefore, you have to make physical efforts. If the unit is filled with water, it must be drained in any available way, and the opening can be done as follows:

• use a special device for emergency opening of the hatch - it is located at the bottom under the protective panel;
• open the door with a string, thin rope or cable - you need to carefully stick it under the rubber gasket and, pulling both ends, open the lock;
• some models have a lock that does not open inward, but outward (a lace or cable will not help here) - in order to open such a hatch, you need to tilt the car slightly backward, stick your hand underneath, feel the lock tongue and open it.
